  1. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) I have found out in the last 3 weeks that Steve drinks and posts a lot Maybe so but in reality who is hte better MLB player?
  2. I HATE PODS!!!!!! But bring him back in a heartbeat as he is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wise
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) Clayton pitched well this ST with the exception of two particularly bad starts where he gave up 7 and 5 runs. Obviously Cooper and Ozzie are happy with him, and the only concern is making sure he gets ahead of hitters and keeps the ball down...which is true of any pitcher in the big leagues, whether he's a rookie or Cliff Lee, who has one of the worst ST ERA's in all of the Cactus League. I drafted a guy's fantasy team for him and took Lee in the second round not knowing what he was doing in the spring. Two picks laster I took Zambrano for myself......I like big Z.
  4. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) what did he do to deserve that? one good start against ny and in the playoffs he did well in relief? jeez. just like wise. have a few decent games and u get a job. He was arguably the second best pitcher in the playoffs as well as a good minor leaguer......oh and he is young but around here that is just another reason to hate a player.

These f***ers haven't responded to a thread of mine in almost 6 years. Bunch of assholes all of them. I'm outta here. Dicks.
  6. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 12:48 PM) On Mully and Hanley this morning, they were saying Detroit might offer their #1 pick for Cutler...which I believe is the 1st pick this year... This was stated a few weeks back.
  7. Looks like it is going to be a fun year around here. Excuse me while I shuffle over to the general baseball section and post why Prince Fielder should be released. The Sox should have just signed John Smoltz and been done with it. He is a tremendous athlete, great hockey player, even better golfer. As far as fielding bunts....well short of the uber athletic Greg Maddux, there was none better.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) If Wise is really the best we got, and Marquez isn't even making the damn team then we should of kept Swish. Nix will play short during his rehab and will come up during the season to platoon, or lead-off and play short or second. Swisher would look really good right now compared to the Wise. Lillibridge and Wise are not MLB hitters right now. Lillibridge not yet and Wise never was. So much for the OBP out of the lead-off spot I wise they would just stop promoting that idea.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 02:30 PM) I just got scared that Ozzie might platoon Getz and Lillibrick at 2nd base. Owens may still be leading off but I think Getz has hit enough lefties to play every day. KLillibridge is just cementing his case for AAA. With the long spring training I think the real line-up guys will be sitting the next couple of days.
  10. Geez Lou making sure he gets this one.....
  11. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Betemit will definitely play when someone needs a rest in the IF Lillibridge will only start in odd emergencies I think Lillibridge ends up in AAA he looks terrible. Matt's brother pitching.
  12. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 03:18 PM) Why would they cut him early if he's out of options? Not saying he's going to turn it around but there's no upside to it. If your pinch runner Lillibridge gets hurt, you have Owens to fall back on. That's the downside to doing it, there's no upside. I'm glad fan-type passion is absent from most coaching staffs out there. The downside is he is taking playing time from players that may serve a purpose.....wanna keep him around fine. There is plenty of room on the bench.
  13. Am I being overly negative when I say that this offense looks like it may be easily shut down again this season and could have some really ugly games?????
  14. Wow 4.1 really nice way things are shaping up......fingers crossed. Also is Jose pitching today? and is this a B.S. WSCR game or full broadcast.
  15. Stepped away for a minute. Did Bart go 4?
  16. FARMIO LIKES BART!!!!!!
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 12:06 PM) South Side Irish St. Patrick's Parade ending March 25, 2009 12:00 PM | No Comments Organizers of the South Side Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade on Western Avenue said today they would no longer hold the event "in its present form." I wonder what other forms parades come in. Link?
  18. I think they have finally made the decision that Lillibridge is a better option than Wise and Owens based on his ability to play the infield and outfield. I think Kroeger or Wise makes the team until Nix is ready and then depending on how Getz is doing, Nix will get a look.
  19. Jack Morris has better post season accolades sans the bloody sock. I am lazy but statistically how do they measure up.
  20. QUOTE (jmg84 @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 08:33 PM) The stadium planned seems to be more for a baseball atmosphere. Where Dolphins stadium is too big and open; obviously because of the conversion from football, this one will be smaller. A name change seems like a take on what the Rays have done, basically a "rebirth" if you will... ...Regardless if the people/voters/fans support the team, anything to ignite passion into the town for their beloved baseball team is better than doing nothing. Not sure a franchise the has two world series championships in eleven years needs a "rebirth"
  21. Hence why he needs to go down and work on other pitches and refining his control.
  22. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) I don't think so at all. I just think he's falling victim to a bad rash of injuries and natural declination due to age. Now Andruw Jones, that's someone I think was on PEDs. Travis Hafner came out of nowhere and grew quickly and then became an injury machine now he has shrunken. The doubts of PED's to Hafner are probably as comparable as wheather Sosa did them. Also I think Poreda goes to AAA to work on becoming a starter as he could be a top of the rotation guy. I think he will not get enough work out of the pen.
  23. QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 01:46 PM) Whichever catcher we bring north (Miller or Lucy) requires an addition to the 40-man roster. So, it will be interesting to see who is removed to create an opening. Most likely one of Owens or Wise.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2009 -> 07:42 AM) I can't find the article now, but I think I read something like the Tigers were going to lose a huge chunk of their season ticketholders and sponsors. I think they are projecting to lose about a million people in total attendance alone. Isn't it somewhere in Soxtalk?????? That was where I read about it.
  25. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) Should be done every game. Those who think it would water it down by doing that are flat out wrong. Look no further than Penn State football or Illinois basketball. Seeing a solid one color never gets old. Except it would lose its luster when half of the crowd is black and half is green.
