  1. Yes 1&2 is better than 10&1 but I think getting the 1 in 26 looks much more beneficial than the 1 in 25 and 2 in 26. Similar to the Bears getting getting the #1 with a better QB class than the prior year. I am not certain how it will play out but the lottery didn't hurt them as much as I thought. I was unaware about the pool money benefit being a huge difference so that could debunk my our thought process further if I dug deeper.
  2. I think Vargas hangs around and is a GG 3B (not sure why I think that but I do) and Colson's health is the reason I push him to 1B
  3. Couple of things. In the end the lottery rules seemed to have favored the White Sox. They got #1 because they were #10 last year and Colorado was bumped. The year they would have had #1 (2025) was an average class and they look to have ended up with a decent enough guy that it did not matter that they moved to 10. C. Montgomery will be at 1B when Roch comes up. As for development Roch sliding in for 2027 (maybe) while Carlson's timeline is 2029 which by then the Meidroth's, Antonacci's and Bonemer will have been figured out. There is a path to not being embarrassing which is something. The brightest thing to me is the timing, if these guys pop will be about the time JR kind of leaves the building and maybe they don't need to be flipped.
  4. MC is 8A. Marist I am not certain of as they didn't win a playoff game this year and that factors into things. Marist is rebuilding and your Crusader victory has them on edge.
  5. A team looking to contend that needs a catcher will over pay a bit based on the cost control.
  6. It's amazing what legitimate coaching can do for a team.
  7. They should be better next year and if the players they have in the pipeline stay the future for them is bright. The portal in high school is real.
  8. Bowl games should be CFP play in games if they want to keep them around or get rid of them all together. JMU and Tulane have no business being in the playoff. Miami made it over Virginia to give the ACC a bid. Bama made it over ND. They were not going to penalize Bama for playing in conference championship. ND needs to join a conference or risk this happening annually. They have no business making the CFP this year.
  9. Did you happen to see the 4th quarter of the Bills and Bengals talk about a QB losing it. Caleb needs to be better but it was on the road in a hostile environment. The Packer defense was gassed at that end of the game and had the Bears focused on the run early the results may have been different. I think the Bears passed 5 of their first 6 plays. It was a clunky game but one they easily could have won.
  10. It is still amazing to me that Indiana and Iowa play their HS playoffs indoors and the state of Illinois plays at ISU and/or NIU. Neither facility is much of anything. I do not mean this as a slight to Iowa or Indiana but shows how ass backward the state of Illinois is. The IHSA (athletic body of the high school sports) is the epitome of Illinois bloat, waste and incompetence.
  11. Not calling the hooking was bad and the UNS was just icing on the cake
  12. I see your point but he is businessman not some guy spouting off on a fan forum. He knows the risk reward of what he is saying. My guess is he is more aggressive than Ricketts and there is something in the works either renovating New Comiskey or moving somewhere in the Loop area. If the Bears pay off the bonds a 40K seat venue to replace Soldier Field would be ideal. Some form of Chicago leadership to replace Soldier Field with something that could compete with the Bears venue in Arlington Heights while the Sox are main tenant.
  13. That was a great game. Bedard seems to to be trending toward stardom if not superstardom.
  14. The ESPN 1000 is solid nothing has ever really stood out. The SCORE is much better at providing content that is informative. ESPN is more conversational chat that doesn't do much for me. Harris and Rahimi are both sidekicks neither can lead a show. I always thought Jurko and Bernstein would be an interesting grouping similar to Boers and Bernstein
  15. Great rebound for the Porters I think they started slow. Did not see them throttling Barrington like that. As solid a 8A program as there is. Hoping to cheer them on Thanksgiving weekend. Lansau playing injured and they seem to have lost a few guys that hampered them.
  16. I thought SCN would be the deepest opponent BR would play all playoffs. BR will have a big advantage on the LOS. My guy over at BR still believes without a couple of questionable calls in MC game by OC and refs, BR was as good as MC. WS2023 wasn't Lansau all set to go to BR?
  17. Caleb and Johnson can only get better and it will be magical. My only issue is Williams is still holding the ball too long and not getting results out of it. The only short coming I see is Poles building the roster needed to cover for injuries. Once they start having to pay some guys the free agency and drafting misses will hurt. Why was TE3 targeted 3 times? Dennis Allen seemed to relax on the blitzing yesterday while Flores stepped it up. I'm guessing it must be a scheme v scheme decision.
  18. MC and BR can't broadcast for free this week on Youtube because of WCIU and NFHS. The NFHS broadcasts are worse in most cases than the student run.
  19. They should put a tape on of Fremd around 2017 BR #1 in state and lost round 1 or Barrington 2016 (up 21 starting 4th and lost). There is a lot of history to Brother Rice not living up to expectations and doing themselves in. Its kind of a southside tradition hand in hand with the White Sox. I think their current guy is different. We shall see. SCN is no joke had has as good a football history as BR.
  20. If Mt Carmel wins 8A that will be as difficult a road as I recall Loyola 8 hour bus ride to Bellview or wherever it was LWE Fremd - QB is all that and LWE will show them some things Barrington or Maine South That is an insane path
  21. Jacobs plays in one of the better conferences in the state. Just about all of the teams play really good football.
  22. Similar to the Brewer player not taking the HBP, instincts are one thing but awareness is another. The coach especially at the MLB level needed to do a better job with that situation. I also thought with 1st and 3rd, a squeeze would have been a good call with Vladdy at third or getting the guy on first moving. You knew the pitch was going to be a breaking ball down in the zone to get the grounder and avoid the sac fly option. It was a pitcher is impeccable control. I know, all hindsight.
