  1. Their minor league system needs players as well. You'd think he was signed and named opening day starter. These are the guys that pitch in AAA and come up to start when needed. These are the moves that Hahn did not make when he should have for organizational depth.
  2. Great deal but needs to stay healthy....although you can say that about everyone in the NFL. He seemed to always have an injury going back to why they got him in the draft when they did.
  3. Hoping Patrick was a guy Getsy hung is hat on. If not, the evaluating of interior linemen by this team is not good. Jenkins and a little bit of Davis worked but the rest wen off the rails quickly.
  4. The station's personalities truly believe they are the smartest people on earth. The thing lost on franchises moving and why the White Sox will not is that there is no inherent fan base. You roll into Nashville or Montreal and you have a bad team people aren't showing up. I am not certain how hockey and basketball who have expanded more recently have resulted but the popularity of baseball in the last few years continues to decline. Generational fandom is a necessity. If the White Sox go on a sustained run which isn't that difficult...say 3 divisions in 5 years and are a 85+ win team over that span they will draw 2.5+M fans a season. Regardless of where they play. Their best season in 18 years happened when fans were not allowed in. Then their play dropped off in the second year after fans were let back in. ALDS Game 3 should be a common thing and you aren't getting that in Nashville or Montreal. There is no inherent connection. Now will the owner hire the folks to do that....probably not. Nothing is happening with them until he drops dead then maybe the next owner will realize this. Chicago is the greatest sports city in the world. As a second fiddle to the cubs the White Sox if run properly can succeed better then in any other market. For Pete's sake the Blackhawks s%*# all over their fans then they became the biggest thing in hockey. The Bulls still outdraw just about any team. The Bears franchise is a disgrace but still get on prime time and are the talk of football way too often. Da 85 Bears are probably the most memorable team outside of the Jordan Bulls, Jeter Yankees and Brady Pats...and that was one season 38 years ago. As a singular team there is none that surpassed their mystique. The cubs are one of the most popular teams in baseball and they have had one run of success (albeit only 3 years) in the last 125 years. The White Sox could move and SCORE could pine for it but it's not a good business decision. The national media and folks of Chicago love their sports teams.
  5. He is cheap and above average. He was a 5th round pick that should get better. Their issue was up the middle and communication, not around the edge.
  6. Why is there any thought he will be fired during the season. He took a playoff contender and turned it into a 60 win team because he could not manage a team. He's here all year at least.
  7. I just had a wicked Deja Vu moment as I opened up an Alumni email to see a guy was elected to the Idaho Sports Hall of Fame and I'll be damned it's you.
  8. Stone compared them directly in that text. It was not a retweeted and I read it to be intentional.
  9. Sorry can't figure out how to embed but this twitter post seemed pretty focused. Not sure if Stone's carrying water here. This is a Twitter post over the weekend. Nine years ago I told you that I was pretty sure you’d like my new partner Jason Benetti. Fast forward to 2024 and I’m sure you’re going to love my new partner John Schriffen. John is smart and enthusiastic. He loves the game as I do and he’ll bring a new perspective to our booth Am I overreaching like v love?
  10. That Santos deal could be a move in this category. That Santos injury doesn't sound minor.
  11. If Hahn did what Getz did, he'd still be employed. He is giving the younger players time to learn and grow in the minors instead of rushing everyone. You can't argue with that. Look at what the fools did last year with Korey Lee, Sosa, Popeye. Goes all the way to Beckham. Beckham was awesome when he first came up but was figured out. Could say the same for Madrigal, Vaughn, Burdi, Kopech and the kid from Vanderbilt. How much is forced from the JR hand, the KW philosophy and Hahn's general stupidity we will never know.
  12. That's the story of my Sox life as well. Be there Opening Day getting the Cuban with the boys as we head down the LF line to the corner.
  13. I kind of wondered if Bennetti got on Stone's nerves with both his absence and hooky stuff. Stone doesn't seem to appreciate shenanigans.
  14. I used to be excited for this type of stuff. I bought two tickets to opening day on Wednesday. Found out a couple other folks wanted in. The seats next to us were still open. Going to be a sad home opener. They were pretty cheap considering it was opening day and they were lower deck. Incredibly sad state of affairs. Even when they were god awful the opener was a tough ticket to get.
  15. The owner of the Phoenix Suns Matt Ishbia sounds like a good candidate as next owner. If the next owner is an asshole like JR they could move it he is a decent human being they will have success. Someone needs to show the Gavin Sheets playoff highlight and then ask, WTF are you talking about. The last three years have shown JR to be an embarrassment, this last two days even more so. He and Hahn cannot go away soon enough. Thankfully Hahn is gone.
  16. When did GR become a shithole? Its better then Wrigley and nobody said it was bad three months ago. Now the consensus is its uninhabitable????? Soldier Field is an embarassment. Comerica isn't much better then GR....Miller Park or whatever it is is equal except for the roof.
  17. The 78 is actually a pretty good plan to have an ROI as opposed to Bridgeport, the gentrification just never made it that far.
  18. The White Sox and ISFA could have tried this around the current joint. Sell some land to IIT to build.
  19. I love that so many folks think that the money that is not being spent on the White Sox would somehow magically be spent in a way that makes the state or city landscape fiscally brighter. The hotel tax if not used to pay for the stadium will be used to pay down the pension shortage or help reduce property. The f..k it will! Look at Chicago and the new tax on the ballot for real estate transactions over $1M. Those funds are going to fight homelessness. The f..k they are! Those funds will go to some organization that "fights" homelessness with 90% lining a bureaucrats pocket and 10% going to some cause that may need the money but won't be enough to make a difference. If you live in Chicago/Cook/Illinois your quality of life is factored into all of this and hopefully your salary allows for you to enjoy. Tollways, hotel tax, gambling tax, cannabis, increased payroll and property tax.....none have resulted in a more efficiently run government yet Jerry is going to push us over the edge. Illinois/Cook/Chicago will spend what JR is asking on migrant services....with Jerry I sometimes see a good baseball game and if there is a concert that keeps me from having to go to Wrigley, I'm happy.
  20. Dejong will be done by July with the youth stepping in. Hopefully he does well enough to trade for a low A guy that can make our top 30 in the Future Sox writeup next fall.
  21. I think it is a lot harder to get noticed with the online application process. Things like Indeed and what not are inundated with poor connections and I think the initiative if you are truly are a good candidate is a nice touch. While you would think hiring is easier now in some cases it is harder.
