I thought they were putting too much faith in Boyd to repeat. They do not need him to repeat last year but to think it was a slam dunk was a bit premature.

The conference sets all but week 1 and 2. They are playing hyde Park week 2. New playoff format in IHSA means 3 wins can get you in MC's schedule is tougher.

2026 NFL off season thread
Most important ability is availability and neither Rome or Luther showed this trait last year. That is the only risk here and a 2 is great get for that price. Kmet becomes more important with LT up in the air and Colson is WR3 but could be #1 target if Rome and Luther are not on the field.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
The Bears and Indiana did exactly what they needed to do. I am still not certain this gets through the Illinois politics and passes. As long as Indiana keeps moving things along there is always a chance Illinois drops the ball.

**Water-Cooler Thread (TV stuff)**
Saw it around the holidays. Very interesting and sad how it unfolded as he seemed to be a good leader. Great cast

2026 NFL off season thread
If the difference is a few million bucks even a couple hundred million I think the Bears stay. If it is a billion they would be fools not to move. The cash flow generation from a wholly owned entertainment district is a way off to top a billion and there are risks on that with the amount of debt they are taking on. Building something in Cook County has a good amount of risk and cost uncertainty that Indiana can better control. I'll leave it at that without getting political.

This is 100% on Illinois. Indiana was brought in when IL continued to play politics. The McCaskey's don't have the appetite to take on billions in debt. The cost to build in IN is 20% less than Cook County so the project will be a billion less if not more. If Indiana goes 50/50 there is more savings. The Bers budget on this project is $2B which if I were to guess is a loan through the NFL. The McCaskey's make enough revenue on the Bears to not need the entertainment district of AH. Now AH can develop that land without the Bears as the anchor tenant. Bears may make money in that development as well.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
I am not a fan of Warren but this is fully on the state of Illinois over playing their hand and then the Bears finally looking at Indiana. I'd guess Indiana is going to throw up a couple new Hammond casinos/hotels not as large as the AH entertainment project but decent enough to draw some Chicago folks and pull from the New Buffalo casinos.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
If we are looking at areas that need revenue generating activity in NE Illinois, the SE side of Chicago and SE suburbs could use an influx of development. If I am only looking at Chicago proper, Hammond makes much better sense to me than AH. Events in AH can be centered around AH, while events in Hammond can be driven through Chicago, if Chicago figured out how to properly work and improve the offerings. Why the original McCormick place is still in existence is mind boggling until you realize it is Chicago. Millennium and Grant Park are wasted opportunities as well as the loop circles the drain.

Yes my idea doesn't really take the cap into account. Moore may restructure but I think in the end he is the odd man out.

I still say Rome and something not a #1 for him. I am just not sold on Rome.

How does not knowing the skillset of a player you traded for have no bearing? He literally did not know the player he traded for and admitted so on 4 separate occasions.

Somehow he had to have been told he was a switch hitter. Would he really make an assumption that he was. It is an odd mistake to make multiple times. Not knowing he was a switch hitter would have been an honest mistake as opposed to thinking he was a switch hitter when he is not. It's Getz so not surprising.

I do not think the Indiana site is looking at an entertainment district.
