What a surprise that the 38 year old Pham is already injured.

Sox recalled Quero with Tommy Pham put on the IL, I doubt if Pham is really hurt.

🤣

Only in the world of the White Sox.

Getz has really clowned himself since July

This makes more sense than signing Pham in the first place. I wonder if Rogers stays much longer.

How does this work. Can a team tell a player he’s injured even if he isn’t and does the mean Pham is being complicit if he agreed without being injured. Not saying he’s not injured but if he isn’t I would imagine he would tell them to go (blank) themselves?

I think he’s had 1 AB with the Sox, how did he get hurt.

Why would he do that? He was making AAA money a week ago now hes getting MLB money. Can Romo come back or is it too soon?

Do we need anymore proof that Getz is just flailing since the deadline

Maybe it was just a favor to Venable to get Pham an MLB paycheck before he retired. We have no idea about the inner workings or inside info on Pham's life. Maybe someone dear to him is very ill and he could use the MLB insurance plan. I really don't think you know what you think you know as is the case with most fans.

And if Getz actually made a mistake then he quickly fixed it . Don't see a problem.

Pham is a psycho and I doubt he'd fake an injury with his career on fumes. And the risk:reward for the Sox to fake an injury for so litlle benefit doesn't make much sense. I'm curious why they didn't activate the beloved Drew Romo.

I was thinking the same thing, I wonder if Venable and Pham were ever teammates.

DH Quero, Grichuk to RF against LHP?

Batting cages, running, general working out. Tripped on his stairs.

....But the ink used to sign that contract could have been repurposed somewhere else!!! Getz is so wasteful of the resources he has!!

Venable told James Fegan of the Chicago Sun-Times that Pham was "one of my favorite players to coach". Venable bench coach with the Red Sox when Pham was there.

It's probably quite minor, but something for which he should sit out a few days. On the other side, Quero is probably batting the best of the choices available on the 40-man roster.

I don't really have a problem with picking up Urquidy and Castillo. If one of those guys turns into Fedde, that works. Brazoban - I wouldn't call that a bad trade. Looked good on paper, could still work out. Joey Bart was a good pickup. Doyle, he is an elite defensive CF. Pereira wasn't. Pereira can't stay healthy. Mason Adams and Boston Smith is what guys cost.

I think it's silly to listen to what Getz said they were going to do, see the moves he made that were pretty much what they said, then come to the conclusion that he's "flailing" because two guys are injured, and another two are struggling/working through changes.

Guess he values that $$$ coming in the most...no matter how limited it is compared to his peak years.

Never got that one longer term generational money deal.

How long does Castillo get to work through changes...or change ups?

The only question is whether Pham is the best available option to hit against LHP...or not?

Jumping off a pickup truck?

If this is the guy he looks like, he probably doesn't make the post-season rosters. If Cleveland gets too close, maybe they have a quicker hook, or he gets an opener, or something.

According to Jeff Agrest of the Sun-Times:

"Outfielder Tommy Pham has one at-bat in one game with the White Sox since being acquired Aug. 31, but the team put him on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a strained left calf. Pham’s IL stint is retroactive to Sept. 3, the day after he appeared as a pinch hitter."

Pham already had 10 seasons of service time. Maybe there's a fraction that gets him over the line for some benefit, which would be thoughtful.
