  1. Four names this morning Joe Brady Mike Vrabel Flores Ben Johnson I would think you kick the tires on Bellichek
  2. I guess I was off the reservation recently as there is a serious fire under them all. Maybe I wasn't caring enough and only hearing about how things will now be different. Seems like Poles will be gone after the season. Opens up the opportunity for a HC with personnel input.
  3. The media I heard last week was about Thomas Brown getting an opportunity and what he would need to do to be the next head coach. Maybe I was expecting more heat or not paying attention which is good then and I am sadly happy to be wrong as I wished they all worked out. I will agree that the narrative seems to be changing but I viewed the season as lost after the Patriots game and yesterday looks like this team has a real culture problem that goes much further than Eberflus and Waldron so you are right. I thought Poles was certainly safe prior to yesterday. It took Dan McNeil of all people to begin the narrative of Warren v Harbaugh and what a huge miss that was. It will be a minor miracle for them to win 5 games this year. If they are going to hamstring their hirings to fit what George and Virginia want and now add Warren's ego, I am not certain anything is changing any time soon. If Poles was on board with Eberflus when he was hired and doubled down earlier this year with no pushback from Warren, they should both be gone. The next question are they prepared to pay for a legitimate coach while paying Eberflus $5M a year for the next 2 years.
  4. Again I cannot reiterate enough how Poles and Warren are somehow getting a free pass on screwing this up. George the ticket salesman is a complete buffoon stuck in the 1940's. Williams will be on his third head coach and amazingly fourth OC when next season kicks off. The ineptitude has reached new lows up there with Poles and Warren and that is really saying something.
  5. Penn State and Texas are going to make it to semis without a quality win all season. How are both seeded higher than OSU? OSU beat two teams in the playoff. Michigan loss looks bad but it is still MIchigan. Close losses to Oregon seems to help Boise and Penn State but not OSU.
  6. The Carolina trade is looking less and less like the Herschel Walker trade as each game goes by. You can add Tyle Scott as another high picked that was wasted. Same as Velus. Scott can't even make the active roster. After they go 4-13 will Poles be called out or no? Harbaugh is the reversal of TLR. Chicago can't get anything right. Poles got Hahn'd there. Warren was a nice hire on paper and seems to like to hire non football related people but on the football side what does he know about anything? Why was he let go by the B1G? This is the epitome of a rudderless ship. Eberflus (who Poles and Warren backed) is this year's fall guy, Poles will be next year's fall guy, the HC Poles hires will be the following year's falle guy and then 7 or 8 years from now Warren will take a job outside of football and Trace Armstrong will take over. I have traded in my fandom to the Pittsburgh Steelers and really don't care much about baseball outside of the White Sox but will root for the Brewers and Cardinals.
  7. I wasn't telling you to do anything I was just agreeing with you and used that term to explain why I think Brown has the job and why popular opinion can easily be swayed toward him in the end. It is not so much about the job he does but more so that at the end of the year he can fit nicely into what Poles and Warren will look at and that is a controllable underling. It may end up working out as Brown is not in position of strength and that may be fine if he actually can do the job. there is risk with him that is greater then those that have led teams previously. These guys believed in a lot of failing individuals very recently.
  8. Read the room with Warren and Poles. Brown has enough backbone to appease fans and players but was thrown a lifeline by Warren and Poles to feel comfortable in a role that a stronger candidate would not. Brown is still very young so maybe they caught the lightning in a bottle there. I do nto trust the guys that liked Getsy, Waldron and Eberflus to get it right but maybe they will get lucky.
  9. The Bears are a McCaskey run operation....full stop...that is not changing unless something pops that has not happened since Jim Finks was hired from the Vikings in the 70s. As long as Thomas Brown says all of the right things and doesn't step in Warren and Poles garden he will get the job. The ticket salesman who has held no legitimate job in his life and accomplished anything is still in the room and is the Chairman. Eberflus should have been gone after the Pats game and dopey George said no. Poles is looking more and more like a slightly more talented Rick Hahn. Kevin Warren is certainly equivalent to KW in playing the role of the boss. Wins and losses are of no significance the rest of this year and as long as the losses are close, Thomas Brown will be the new boss. The Bears do not swing big.
  10. No clue about BR hoops. The IHSA needs to fix the way teams are moved up. MC moves to 8A next year after they win one year they should move up after one not after winning three in a row. Same with Nazareth. There is also the multiplier and in the case of Depaul and St Laurence enrollment growth that is not counted yet but will next year. Brother Rice could be in 5A next year although they elect to move up in baseball so who knows. Marist may be 6A but if that gets them ESL they may elect to move to 7A. 7A in some regards is easier than 6A.
  11. What has he done in his 20 months time on the job. The OC hiring and retaining Eberflus shows me he is either bad at the job or was very hands off. Stadium thing seems to be no further along and is predicated on who they can shake down the most at the government level. They should have brought in someone with IL government ties then for that role like a Lisa Madigan. The fact that Waldron won the job over Kingsbury or Arthur Smith is a bad look and retaining Eberflus is another bad look. Poles can hang on to the Massive Carolina trade for another year maybe two before his seat gets hot and Warren another 5+
  12. How does his firing show they are serious? Yesterday's ending was beyond embarassing. Thomas Brown will be given remainder of this year and next as HC. They are not a serious organization.
  13. This plan worked well with Vaughn who was move somewhat kind of a little bit more proven...I guess #green
  14. He is to the White Sox like Centers are for the Bears nw OC's. A guy the new guy likes.
  15. Football is as much about coaching as it is players. The Bears have failed miserably in evaluating Eberflus and their stupid defense first mantra. Idiots, the whole lot of them.
  16. They would love the GRATE then Jerry can move to the Neverland place that will not support his failing endeavor. He can take the White Sox name with him if he'd like. Start anew and I will back them.
  17. I still believe Kevin Warren's time in the BIG 10 is as much to do with Harbaugh as the McCAskey's idiocy running a football team.
  18. The likelihood of them going 9-8 is on par with Chris Getz saving a year of learning by a new GM. If everything went right they were not finishing the year 4-4 based on the quality of opponents. They needed to be 6-3 at this point to maybe make the playoffs.
  19. While not fully his fault his first free agent signing failed his physical I believe.
  20. I view the Bears never aiming big for anyone or anything as going on the cheap. Yes their facilities have been upgraded to NFL standards but what gives the appearance of them being more fiscally aggressive than Reinsdorf? Kevin Warren hasn't really done anything as President of football operations to lead me to believe that he is a force for this organization. My guess with him is that his time with the BIG had a role in Harbaugh not coming to the Bears. That was a move that I am not certain was ever even investigated by the Bears. The fact Eberflus was hired, retained and remains while the OC role he has hired twice (now third one in less than three full years) was just handed to a less qualified candidate then the prior two Bozos. Getsy's tenure in LV was less than Waldron's shows me how bad a hire he was. Little has changed under Warren/Poles compared to the prior clown cars. If not for Carolina maybe being a worse organization, I am not certain Poles and Warren are any better than the other failures that arrive daily to 1920 Football Drive. Eberflus should have never been hired and certainly never been retained. They will end up 4-13 this year and will be starting over again. They will hire a new staff of cheap inexperienced field staff and hope it goes well. Hiring Waldron over Kingsbury was to protect their ego and pocketbook.
  21. The parallels with the Bears, White Sox and Bulls when it comes to simply hiring the cheapest candidates available is really something to behold.
  22. That is kind of missed in this comparative. Pennix, Daniels and Nix seemed to be in college for ever.
  23. The team has been run by the accountant (Phillips) and ticket manager (George) for the last 15 years. You wonder why they seem to be behind in the times.
  24. Bloom is quickly fading off of the Poles rose. If not for the Carolina trade the Bears are no better off today then they when he took the job. The Alpha coach was a conversation yesterday and will continue to pop up that Warren and Poles are not hiring the correct person due to their insecurities and/or fiscal restraint. Ben Johnson is going to want $12M. Virginia and George are not going for that. The next coaching regime will be the same cast of cheap dolting yes men.
  25. Eberflus has shown a great ability to lose games. I don't see them even competing in most of the remaining games. That offensive line is beyond bad.
