  1. Minneosta got fleeced in this deal not Miami. Minnesota gave the Orioles the good prospect. Both ends of the trade this year were released.
  2. Covers a majority of the MLB roster. Yet there's Trayce Thompson.
  3. If the price tag is an issue on Anderson then they are in huge trouble as it's a peanuts deal. He obviously needs a change of scenery so pick up the option and hope for the best.
  4. This injury wont be serious but still will cause him to miss the beginning of spring training , impact the start of 2024 season and not be right until after the ASB if at all until 2025.
  5. That's the indictment in all of this and then can you even address Fields progression with this staff. Eberflus and his guys gotta go. That defense yesterday was as bad as anything I had ever witnessed. They do nothing to address their weaknesses.
  6. I know the Brewers need to set up the rotation for the playoffs but I still think it's as important to knock the cubs out. That place will be 70% cub fans which my or may not be important. The cubs offense is better then the Brewers and in short series can outperform the them rather easily. Brewers pitching is stacked as it has been previously and has not worked out in playoffs.
  7. That's a pretty classless thing to say about the Pirates. Pretty big dick move from a team that lost 2 of 3 to the Rockies and 3 of 4 to AZ as well.
  8. They match up with the Brewers. Reds are in it as well
  9. Agreed if it was health, other family issue or minor infraction he isn't wiped clean so quickly and remains on leave especially if it's health. Nate Davis is a prime example of that. The silence on the legality of it to me speaks volumes. FBI probably didn't raid Hals Hall but informed them that there is an issue and confiscated his belongings. The professionalism with Poles and hopefully Warren are needed here.
  10. By itself its a good move. Gives time for the younger guys to ease in. If it's THE move or if the move precludes them from spending elsewhere it's a terrible move. It's the move JR railed about in regard to paying a .220 hitting 2B $13M. For the rotation they are going to rely on Cease and the new guy Navi-something. Clevenger is as good as any FA option if the mutual option is picked up but my guess is he opts out and then the Sox walk away and are left with a hole. They are not signing more then 2 FA pitchers and there and the bullpen is where it all falls apart. Clevenger may not opt out as I would have assumed somebody would have taken a flyer on him at the deadline. If they put him on waivers FL or CIN would pick him up to make two starts before the end of the year and that could be the difference. I am not certain he could be put on waivers again though.
  11. Didn't the coaching candidates interview prior to Poles making a decision, I could be wrong but thought he was somewhat limited as to who he could hire with Bill Polian having some input. That's about the only reason I think of for allowing Poles to clean house 19 games into his tenure with a regime he put together. Warren has got to be thinking of pulling the plug on all of them.
  12. That error on Anderson in the first is the epitome of this season. Sadly, he cannot leave soon enough.
  13. The Bears really are the fall version of the Chicago White Sox. Poles can pass off the hiring as being the wishes of the former regime same with the QB. Then Warren can do the same with Poles in three years if need be. In 7 years Warren can finally be held accountable for a decision....except the Arlington land was already invested in so he can say they were not tolerable to work with.
  14. Not sure if he is athletic but the first round MIF is about as fast as our 1B.
  15. Poles couldn't move Fields based on public perception. I will say though that they should have known going into this year that this is who he is and what is plan B. The 49ers have shown that missing on a QB and bad trade is not crippling if other aspects of the organization are working properly. The Bears look to be 0-2 in this hunt and the other aspects of the organization are subpar as well. Hopefully they are getting two high picks next year. Then they can trade one for additional draft capital.
  16. Really fascinating how they missed out to the D'Backs, cubs, Marlins and Reds while they floundered with the Cardinals and Mets. Baseball is a crapshoot and the White Sox have zero aim.
  17. Cardinals, Padres and Mets are trying to win. White Sox re not and other three don't have resources.
  18. Brewers would certainly be playing for cubs to not make it. The place will be more cub fans in round one. Cubs offense can beat anyone and is clearly the best of the four options. Cubs pitching isn't much but Steele gets them a game.
  19. Still gotta be a favorite to get in with that schedule. Getting to play at Milwaukee will be a whole other thing as I am sure cub fans gobbled up tickets there. I know I would have if I was a cub fan. I can see that series being a pick'em. Brewers cannot hit and the roof removes foul weather.
  20. I still find it odd that last week the issue in the media was the effort of the #3 wideout's blocking ability. Fields is regressing like every semi-talented White Sox player.
  21. They keep trumpeting the idea that the bad vibes in the clubhouse have been traded. While that could be true, I wonder if they will ever address the fact that this offense is not at all close to being a real offense. Grifol couldn't wait to get Anderson back into the leadoff spot. He is such a moron.
  22. That's the thing when the "core" has been healthy it has shown that it's not a core at all and is a poorly constructed "core"
  23. But Colas was sent down and the new catcher from Houston benched. Whole organization is a travesty.
  24. New President may not like what he sees and cans them all. This is why Phillips should have stepped down earlier and maybe why Reinsdorf did not build up his front office.
  25. Wilder was viewed as home run hire from the Brewers I believe. He's a scumbag that should not be given any credence.
