  1. A good over/under would be Sox hits to the number of different pitches thrown by the pitcher to whom we tip the proverbial cap this afternoon. Weaver was inventing pitches Saturday evening. Gaudin, Escobar, Durbin, Byrd and Weaver all essentially have shut his team out. Which does not include the complete white wash provide by Santana and Sabathia. Other than Erstad's homer opening day have the Sox scored in the first inning. As comparedto the amount of runs given up in the first. Yet through it all we have played tough and sit at .500 Record for this road trip 1-8. Team ERA 4.05 - BA .195. In gets cold in domes and in southern California
  2. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:16 AM) Ozzie did nothing wrong. 3-2 B8 and a really solid pen which hadn't worked in three days and is off tomorrow. May as well use them. Gullien has a tendancy to leave guys in for one hitter to long and rely on the L/R thing way to much. This was a questionable move but not terrible. Pinch hitting Cintron for Ozuna.........
  3. I said this yesterday and looking at the possible match-ups. In this 8 game road trip the sox may not score more than 12 runs. Today is the only real chance to get more than 3 for the next week.
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 1, 2007 -> 10:38 AM) Washburn used low and away against us last year, and threw his change in the dirt. It was a frustrating game to watch. We should do well this trip, as our lift and pull offense will be forced to hit line drives due to the geometry of the ballparks. Its hard even for Rob Deer to attack the large area of Safeco. We may see a better plan over the next few games, only to be undone when they get home. What makes you think the plan will change? As with every soft tosser we face, the spin-o-rama swing from the heels will be in full affect. Guillen will stack the line-up with righties that swing from their heels and can not adjust to pitches away in the dirt. The line-up as I see it; Erstad CF Ozuna DH Iguchi 2B Dye RF Konerko 1B Crede 3B AJ C Uribe SS Terrraro LF
  5. I got a feeling Terraro will be the starting centerfielder and Erstad will DH as an injury to Erstad and the Sox may set a record for futility. Guillen likes Terraro, he will play. I find it funny that Guillen will make excuses for Cintron doing nothing and being absolutly abysmal but then will rip on Anderson for not being able to produce when called upon.
  6. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) It's true that Tavares isn't that special, he's sort of like Pods but with the glove to play CF. But that wouldn't have been bad, as the Sox could then have ditched Pods and brought in someone that could hit to play LF. It's pure conjecture at this point, but I think Hirsh will be better than Gio or Floyd. He racked up great numbers in the PCL and is doing well with the Rox now. Gio is off to a good start, but it's possible the park in BHAM is hiding the gopherballitis he had in Reading last season. If Gio moves up to Charlotte and proves he can pitch in that bandbox, I'll start thinking he might do something in the big leagues. I hope the Sox move him up soon. At this point, there's no sense wasting any of pitches in his arm at AA. He leads the league in strikeouts not sure if the park can be attributed to that (maybe they have bad lights). Also has a 1.69 ERA. teams will loo at this in July and give up somethign good/decent for him which we could use right now.
  7. Down and in then over his head away. He has no control at all. His pitches are a crap shoot. Sorry enough with Logan he has no clue where the ball is going.
  8. Hye it is raining her enow my grass will grow. Cool. Nice hanger for a K there.
  9. Have they gotten ahead of a hitter since the 5th.
  10. Guillen needs ot figure out what to do with the pen and stick with it. I do not like Boone Logan.
  11. The sickening part of this game is watching the Royals look at pitches off the plate and the Sox swing at everything. Pena has gotten on base the last two days late in the game.
  12. McDougal ain't going to make it to May with this workload. Think the Pena kid is going ot rip it somewher?
  13. The last two at-bats for Uribe were hidious.
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) Let's see how Kansas City handles the slippery, slick free tundra that is the Kansas City outfield. You would think that it's impossible to clearly field a ground ball out there. Let's just see how they'll players handle it. Pop ups on the infield and flailing away to get home seems in order. Guillen has no clue on what to do with the bullpen.
  15. I really can not take Hawk and DJ and their love for the Royals and piss poor excuses.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) AJP has to be the worst defensive catcher in baseball. Nice pitch there. AJ is a hitting machine.
  17. This bullpen refuses to throw f***ing strikes.
  18. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) That wasn't Macko. He's in RF. I know. How did this alignment come about? Hawk is blowing the Royals they are 6-13 and not good and haven't been for god sake.
  19. Am I stupid, but what happened to Mackowiak? How f***ing hard is it to play the outfield? Any chance of rescinding the Thorton contract? Is that 4 blown holds/save opportunities?
  20. Hey Hawk, throw strikes and they may go away.
  21. Start an inning with a guy and go with him. The leftie/rightie s*** is driving me f***ing nuts.
