QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 1, 2009 -> 11:22 AM) FOX news might be total hackery as far as news goes, but they have excellent ratings. they're not really in the 's***ter'. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 1, 2009 -> 11:28 AM) I don't think anybody's debating that either unbiased, but to act like one is different than another or that MSNBC is "worse" than Fox is pretty pointless, even borderline stupid. You could go in circles for hours with those arguments. BTW mr. genius - StrangeSox's post was more mocking than anything else, you notice he just directly copy/pasted. MSNBC isn't really in the s***ter either. when I read genius' post, I was thinking "WTF? I didn't type that." mr., I just cp'd BearSox' post and replaced MSNBC with Fox and JG with AC.

Give me a break. Fox News is extremely hateful and will continually attack anyone who disagrees with them and refuse to insult Obama. There's a reason why they are in the s***ter. How many "news" channels will let people like Ann Coulter come on and call hundreds of thousands of people racists and stupid, without being challanged [sic]? It's not even close, and if you are trying to make them the same, you're the delusional one.- LOST!!!!
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 02:24 PM) Time travel on shows is very difficult because every show has a different set of rules. Time travel is difficult because it creates paradoxes whenever it is used.- Achoo! - Oink!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 01:06 PM) And our administration isn't doing anything to stop even infected people from coming into the country. Are you really trying to tell me that stopping people who have the infection does nothing to stop the flu from spreading more here? That is pretty counter intuitive if you ask me. I think its a cost/benefits analysis. Closing down the borders would be massively disruptive economically and screening isn't very effective due to long incubation periods. Whatever minimal gain we'd get by shutting everything down is quickly outweighed by the cost of the action. This doesn't address the practicality of shutting down the border, either.- Achoo! - Oink!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) And on top of it they aren't stopping any infected people from coming into the country... That is so completely inconsistent. It tells me that this administration has no idea how to react, and it is covering all of their bases, from panic, to acting like there isn't a problem. WHO =! Obama Administration. They are the ones saying closing borders doesn't work.- LOST!!!!
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 11:27 AM) Perhaps his job was to tell Jack what to do. Some times when people finish their "job" for the Island, they then die. I felt the most interesting part of the episode is that they destroyed Daniel's "present day/time" theory in that what happened to Daniel had already happened. He felt that he was changing things, but in reality all of this had already happened. They upheld it. He couldn't die in 1977 if he was really in the past. He was warning Jack against thinking he could be reckless. This is why time travel is stupid and doesn't make sense, though.- Achoo! - Oink!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 07:58 AM) I just read that the masks do nothing because the virus is too small to be filtered by them anyway... lol. I would think they'd be more effective in preventing you from spreading it to others since you won't be sneezing or coughing on anything.- Achoo! - Oink!

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 12:43 AM) I caught some of BBTN. Coco Crisp says Grienke is the best pitcher he's ever played behind. Others say he's a good as a young Nolan Ryan. Can we make it to June before we start throwing these type of quotes around? Baseball Tonight was pretty heavy on the Ryan/ Clemens comparisons. I had to shut it off.- LOST!!!!
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 03:43 AM) I feel the same way. But, I won't stop watching until it's over like some people I know. I feel bad b/c I feel like Lost is losing it's audience. But, I've invested a lot of time over the last few years keeping up with every episode, so while it may not grip me like it used to, I'll be watching until the end. Lost is losing its audience. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Lost_episodes I'll watch it to the end, but its not the same show that got me hooked a few years back. Their answers/ reveals used to leave me saying "holy s***!" but now its just "ok, what's next?" because the story line is so ridiculous.- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread

Self-selected response polls, such as internet polls appearing on abc.com or aol.com, don't tell you much other than what the people who chose to respond think. It's not possible to extrapolate that out to the general public like Gallup or Rasmussen polls do. You generally get the extremes only because others with more moderate or indifferent opinions don't waste their time. You generally tend to get negative responses; similar to customer feedback scenarios. That's why you'll see them referred to as non-scientific polls. http://www.mrsc.org/focus/discforum/browne1100.aspx- Did dinos survive the end Cretaceous extinctions?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 09:57 AM) You DO understand that around 50k people die each year of common seasonal flu right? So even if it was in the 10's of thousands it would MAYBE reach the pandemic levels of seasonal flu. The difference is in who it targets. Normal flu kills those with weak or compromised immune systems, such as the very young and elderly or those with AIDS. This particular strain targets healthy adults with strong immune systems. I'd agree that there's some hysteria of this, but this isn't your normal flu virus.- Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 09:56 AM) Anyone else notice the evil stare Rose gave Gordon after Gordon's off balance jumper to end regulation? Basically a, "you know you were supposed to get me the ball, but you wanted to be the hero" look. Maybe it was a "why did you stand there for 10 seconds before trying to make a move" look.
