  1. Watching the pregame, man Frank Thomas is just such a mountain of a man. Makes arod look tiny.
  2. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Oct 14, 2017 -> 12:15 PM) Yes but people who NEED 10k worth of medical care EVERY year AND make a bit more than the subsidy levels (the vast majority of Americans) are getting crushed with 10k a year they can't afford. Basically having a family, an ok job, and a house becomes near impossible. This is what most of America is going through since ACA. ACA is a half-measure and Medicare-for-all would be a vast, vast improvement. Plenty of people were left in just as bad or even worse situations pre-ACA, though. It's not like ACA kicked off the trend of increasing deductibles and premiums.
  3. I guess it depends on what you consider "greatly" reduced to mean but they're definitely more limited than they used to be pre-ACA.
  4. It's actually conservatives who generally push for high deductible catastrophic plans that don't really cover much outside of that major illness or accident. They're still allowed in some circumstances under the ACA but they're greatly reduced iirc.
  5. A heck of a lot more insured than having no insurance aka infinite deductible. If I have a 10k deductible and not that much cash, I'm going to be in a bad financial spot if something happens but much, much better off than not having insurance and needing hundreds of thousands in treatment for cancer.
  6. 'Hazards of Homosexuality' Flier Distributed at Values Voter Summit A flier promoting a book on the "health hazards of homosexuality" was distributed to guests at Values Voter Summit where President Trump spoke. "Value Voters Summit" has been a garbage dump of the worst of the worst of social conservatism forever.
  7. Weinstein Co. Exploring Sale or Shutdown
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 03:05 PM) The Obama's let Malia intern for Weinstein. I think people are taking the "everybody knows" thing a little too literally. Obviously they were just inducting her into pizzagate
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:26 PM) For instance, I am sure you would take exception to someone calling Michelle Obama a sexual abuser for speaking at an event sponsored by Harvey Weinstein. You know, the guy this thread was supposed to be about. That's not what happening here though. Harvey Weinstein didn't sponsor events and largely exist in order to promote sexual abuse, while the family research council makes hating LGBT a core part of their mission. If Michelle Obama spoke at events sponsored by nambla, she would rightfully be criticized for that association. Who you choose to associate yourself with does actually matter.
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:26 PM) I said Trump was the first president in our history to take office and be in favor of gay marriage. That is true. If you're going to witch hunt people with guilt by association then literally all of DC is criminals, rapists, homophobic, etc. For instance, I am sure you would take exception to someone calling Michelle Obama a sexual abuser for speaking at an event sponsored by Harvey Weinstein. You know, the guy this thread was supposed to be about. How about "guilt by actions his administration is doing" because those are also pretty anti LGBT
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 02:50 PM) Trump said today he met with the president of the US Virgin Islands. He went to Wharton. He's like really smart. This would be a pretty neat way to refer to yourself in the third person.
  12. Official announcement that he's withdrawing certification. This administration continues to make a combination of the worst and dumbest decision on every issue.
  13. I just want them to lose so I don't have to hear that f***ing song for six months Is that so much to ask
  14. The problem is that the GOP has never and most likely will never have a non-garbage healthcare plan. The ahca, brca and Graham-Cassidy dumpster fires are the best you should ever have expected and the best they ever promised.
  15. They're also ending cost sharing payments, so that likely means many many thousands losing insurance and possibly kicking off a death spiral in a lot of markets.
  16. It undermines state by state insurance regulators mainly. It remains to be seen how many insurers will bother with it.
  17. He's a very dumb man. http://thehill.com/homenews/administration...e-were-reducing
  18. Cool, we're going to give Puerto Rico another loan they can't afford and then bail, leaving the entire island to collapse in on itself. Trump warns Puerto Rico: ‘We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders . . . forever!’
  19. It's 2017 and a video game is controversial because it's about killing lots of Nazis.
  20. If all you can do is take a woman at her word, we still have many accusations of sexual assault and barging in on underage girls changing against Trump.
