QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) They leaked credit card numbers and social security numbers if I remember right - and this wasn't just donors giving hundreds of thousands of dollars (which still would be bad!) - it was DNC contributors who provided as little as $100. There's not a lot of "journalistic integrity" in dumping that information. They also did this to a bunch of Brazilian political donors. Assange is a s*** head

yet another +10 poll for Clinton, NBC. Monmouth +13. gtfo Trump

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) Fingers crossed wikileaks takes down Trump and Hillary and then Gary Johnsons pulls the upset. wikileaks had the scorching hot break during the DNC of leaked viocemails that amounted to absolutely nothing. Wikileaks is run by a moron who's a stooge for Russia. Even Edward Snowden calls them out as irresponsible idiots.

I can't wait for his economic speech later today. He will really speak to the issues that concern working class Americans the most, such as cutting financial regulations and abolishing the estate tax.

"so much talk of rigged elections" lol no its just trump and his supporters whining
-
Party primaries are also not the general election and anyone conflating the two is pretty silly

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 06:49 PM) Speaking of Stephen Moore Richard Yeselson – @yeselson Stephen Moore, Trump proxy on @NewsHour attacking Clinton's infra-structure plan--not mentioning that Trump supports one twice as large! 4:17 PM - 5 Aug 2016 from Arlington, VA Oops. Turns out that his list of economic advisors is really just a list of his biggest donors, so much for getting money out of politics (lol at anyone who ever actually bought that) http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/trum...t-donors-226758

Kasich: Trump Jr. called aide to float VP offer

I was wondering if/for how long the media would try to keep a horse race narrative, but they love a dumpster fire narrative even more. Meet The Press is opening up today with a solid 10 minutes of all of the ridiculously stupid things Trump's done in just this last week. Also two new polls out this morning with Clinton +8 and +9. Clinton pulling funding in VA and CO in favor of expanding offices in AZ and GA.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 09:39 AM) Some more from the NC Voter ID ruling: Sure is a good thing Roberts decided to invent a Constitutional principle of Equal Dignitude of the States and ignore the very explicit wording of the 15th Amendment in order to gut the VRA in Shelby County. That has to be in the running for the worst SC decision ever written for how brazenly it doesn't even really attempt a real argument and comes to such awful conclusions. Hopefully it's one of the first things on the agenda of a liberal Supreme Court to overturn. Contrast the court's quotes in the NC ruling with this: lol

I like that two of his own "positive" stories involved him telling a gunman to go after the cashier instead of himself, and when he had some nurse he didn't like and didn't want to deal with then God made her disappear so he was happy.

A Governor Ordered to Serve as a Public Defender Amid a funding crisis, Missouri’s top public defender appointed Governor Jay Nixon to represent a poor client.

More and more "LOCK HER UP!" chants at Trump rallies. It's great that this is apparently just accepted as normal now.

Aside from spending it on flying to and from NYC every single day in his jet, what exactly is Trump going to be spending his campaign money on? He has next to zero ground game in individual states and is spending nothing on advertising. Also it's very difficult to cancel a recurring donation to Trump's campaign once you've set it up.

lol who is going after Melania aside from a couple of days when her speech was plagiarized and, like with every other incident, the Trump campaign made it worse by insisting that it wasn't? Bill is or at least was scummy towards women but that was litigated figuratively and literally litigated all the way up to a vote for impeachment of the sitting President of the United States over it. Benghazi was 4 years and about 13 Republican Congressional investigations ago. None ever found any wrongdoing on her part, and that didn't stop conservatives from continually overplaying their hands and making up outlandish conspiracy theories about "stand down" orders and other nonsense. The email story may have gotten more coverage mid-July if Trump didn't immediately proceed to s*** his pants for several weeks straight after the FBI announcement, but he did so here we are. greg, I kindly request that you stop listening to per the conservative WSJ editor "the dumbest man on Fox News" and referencing his dumb statements in this thread. Hannity is an idiot and not a reliable source of information.* *this conservative information bubble/breeding distrust among all media outlets that aren't expressly conservative is something that the GOP identified in their own 2012 postmortem as a source of their problems, but it doesn't appear anyone's done anything to fix it. It's rubes fleecing rubes all the way down for decades. this may be the perfect example, Trump retweeting Drudge retweeting Breitbart citing Fox News

Whoever wrote that is definitely a pedo

More on the "Donald Trump is extremely creepy towards Ivanka and has been for decades" front https://twitter.com/chrismassie/status/7616...src=twsrc%5Etfw there's this one too just so they're all together, here's probably the creepiest pose with them sitting next to a statue of two parrots f***ing "Trump wants to bang Ivanka" was also on the "OK" list for his CC Roast, the only thing he objected to was any jokes whatsoever about not being as wealthy as he claims. and of course the borderline one from the RNC also Trump's favorite thing he has in common with Ivanka Trump: If Ivanka wasn't my daughter, I'd be dating her

538 got a hold of a Trump internal strategy memo from the primary. Their strategy worked, but not for the reasons they thought it would, and it seems to have left them crippled for the GE. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/trump-...nlikely-voters/

The Olympics are also mostly good (for me) for sports that I won't care about/see for another 206 weeks. Golf is everywhere, don't need it again at the Olympics. At least with hockey and basketball you get these ridiculous All-Star teams that are actually putting in effort.
-
Trump announced his economic policy team. The team is all-male, all-white and contains no economists lmao It does contain noted idiot and man who is always wrong Stephen "Oops" Moore, at least.

New Police Shooting video in Chicago about to be Released
StrangeSox replied to bmags's topic in The Filibuster
I'm guessing there's post-Garner caselaw on an almost identical scenario. It'd be interesting to see how those rulings typically go but, given how quickly the CPD reacted here, I'm guessing the weight of the evidence and caselaw is on the "unjustified" side and rightly so imo. -

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) I can understand the guys shooting at him in the car. They were shooting wildly at/around houses and their fellow officers. I'm not surprised about that. Not sure I agree with the second. He already showed his willingness to hit a police car with his car. He's running into private homes. Who knows what he's capable of. Why are we giving deference to the fleeing criminal? Shooting while he's in the car is actually the justified part I think. There, he has a deadly weapon and can use it to harm officers/other people. Once he's out of the car, he's not posing a threat and "who knows what he's capable of" doesn't come close to meeting the legal standard for shooting a fleeing suspect in the back. We give deference to the fleeing alleged-but-not-yet-convicted criminal because the state exercising its powers to take someone's lives should be extremely limited. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 12:42 PM) I think it's disingenuous to call this a spontaneous execution. It was a car chase followed by pursuit on foot. This dude had every opportunity to stop and give up. He didn't. Again, in the grand scheme of things, after all the awful shootings that have happened, this is so far down the list. Running from the police isn't punishable by death. It doesn't matter if this guy was less sympathetic of a figure than some of the other outright murders by police officers, it's still a tragedy, it still shouldn't have happened and those involved should still be held accountable.
