  1. Rick Hahn was sitting by the phone all day long just waiting for the calls that never came. Unfortunately, it wasn't until 2:59 that he noticed the phone was off the hook, but by that point it was already too late.
  2. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:08 PM) Because ALL of those players are still under contract for next year. I look forward to another year of a 3-5th place .500 team!
  3. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) The Yankees probably just went from a middle of the road farm system to a top 2 or three system by trading two rentals and a closer making $9M a year for two more seasons. I can't blame Hahn, this type of ineptitude pre-dates his tenure changes are needed at a higher level. He's been with the organization for 16 years and was assistant GM from 2002 until he took over in 2012. He's as much a part of the problem as anyone else.
  4. They really wanted to drive a stake into the heart of any good will they built up with the hot start.
  5. Trump called the press into the hallway at his rally today to rant about fire codes being "politically motivated" https://twitter.com/NYTnickc/status/7601891...src=twsrc%5Etfw The man is losing his mind.
  6. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:32 AM) Sure, but how much of that "pass" is actual support versus a vote to prevent giving Democrats and Hillary in particular another 4 years? It'd be nice if someone did a poll on that. Are you actually supporting Trump because of Trump or because of anti-Hillary/Dem policy. There have been polls on that. Slight pluralities on both sides have "vote against the other candidate" as their primary motivation. That's what I think that baked-in floor is--it literally doesn't matter for lets say 35% on either side who the nominees are, they will still vote with their 'team.' That's how he's being given a pass. I think Trump is providing ample evidence for that, but we don't have a real-world Democratic equivalent that's been tested against. This one is from May. I know I've seen a more recent one, but the results were more or less the same.
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:56 AM) Don't really think it will matter, most don't seem to care. -2016 Presidential Election
  8. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:58 AM) This goes back to what I was just saying - Trump's supporters really don't care. You can see in their communities on the internet they've already made up a "he's actually a Muslim terrorist infiltrator" smear and have made themselves believe it. I noticed this really was a thing when Trump dissed John McCain. Normally, we would've been writing the political obituary of anyone who said that within 24 hours, no matter who they were, but then you read what Trump supporters were saying, and they were agreeing with him, calling McCain a loser, etc. Trump later said "Bush didn't keep us safe" and "the Iraq War was a disaster" which is straight-up Republican apostasy (the Democratic equivalent is probably saying something like "racism is a myth, I wish black people would stop complaining). Republicans tried to go after him on this, it barely left a mark, his numbers just went higher. There is a ceiling for this type of stuff in the general election though and he's already reached it, and to the extent he actually has a strategy, it's to keep Hillary from scoring more points on him, which is why he's already trying to weasel his way out of the debates without looking like a coward. McCain issued a strongly worded statement today. However, he didn't actually rescind his endorsement of Trump. Earlier in the year, he said he just wanted Trump to apologize for his remarks about McCain's capture and torture in Vietnam. Trump instead bragged about how he went up 7 points in the polls after those statements; McCain still endorsed.
  9. I think that's more what Tex was referring to. He appears to have a floor of 38%. To be fair, either party could nominate Reincarnated Hitler and probably see a similar floor. At the same time, he appears to have a ceiling of 45% and has bounced off of that hard in the last week.
  10. God job Trump, keep the Khan thing in the news, it's definitely good for you! Why does he seem to think "he doesn't even know me!" is a sensible response to what he said?
  11. I'm an Email Server Management voter!
  12. So much of Trump's aura is being exposed as lies and bluster, he's just never been called on his bulls*** like this before. I think my favorite example was him inventing a Civil War battle that allegedly occurred on one of his golf courses.
  13. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 10:36 PM) This is so so scary. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/01/world/eu...p-news&_r=0 He's eclipsed Palin levels of incoherent ignorance.
  14. this would be a helpful tool, probably already aware of it though https://frinkiac.com/
  15. Trump insulting the fire marshal and insinuating he was a Hillary plant at his rally yesterday for enforcing the fire codes, a guy who's a life long Republican and local hero, is the mark of a smart, capable man and not a giant narcissist idiot.
  16. Fox news always produces the best charts https://mobile.twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/...507812963737600
  17. Lol, trump lying about the NFL personally writing him a letter to complain about the debate dates. What a sad, pathetic man.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) She also literally could not stop a man from donating to a PAC supporting her. That is why a constitutional amendment is required. Remember when Trump was self funding his campaign but it turns out he is too poor to? Trump campaign trying to beg for money and getting slapped down by the kochs is pretty funny. Trumps trying really hard to fundraise, he's just a failure at it.

  21. Trumps response to the khans is predictably awful https://amp.twimg.com/v/fefa68ff-7c30-4c24-b53c-6d0383f649e7 https://mobile.twitter.com/allahpundit/stat...434705066262529 Eta I think he's done more than enough by this point to prove my argument last winter that you need to be a terrible person to support him.
  22. Large parts of the Wisconsin voter id law struck down http://www.nbc26.com/news/federal-judge-re...in-voter-id-law
  23. Trump wants the military to eschew electronic communication in favor of couriers. https://twitter.com/tgreene319/status/759148158182096896
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 05:35 PM) Finally read Ailes stuff. Horrifying Trump is standing by him.
  25. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) Don't forget "white cops will kill you just for walking down the street!" Great post!
