  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) Trestman 4th down play calling not good. kick the damn FG and get within one score. There's plenty of time and no need to go chasing points.
  2. why are they blaming that on McCowen? It went right through Bush's hands. Wasn't a perfect throw but was definitely catchable.
  3. For as bad as they got outplayed in the first half, they're only down 10 and they're driving to score.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) The way this has been officiated I fully expect them to give the rams the ball on the 1 Rams get a double-touchdown and the ball
  5. this officiating crew is a joke, either blow a play dead or don't
  6. lol if that's not uncatchable absolutely ridiculous

    JFK Assasination

People have a hard time accepting the amount of damage that a single loon can do. LHO acting alone is the simplest, cleanest explanation.
  8. Sucks that so many things, even employment, can be tied to your credit score these days.
  9. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 08:09 AM) I will look for the case load stats. Who was that judge? And I love how you put in the simple counting which doesn't mean anything. Yeah counting case loads is inaccurate. 20 cases isn't 20 cases? When you govern by regulations and commissions you need your boys to uphold your policies. Karma is a b****. Can't wait for the Dems to wet themselves when the next R puts Supremem Court Justices on the court using this Democratic method. The filibuster got us such noted moderates as Alito. I really don't get why republicans think this is some sort of threat, they already appoint conservative judges. edit: it will be good for Republicans to appoint SC justices using the small-d democratic process, anyway. The Senate is too anti-democratic as it is, and rules like the filibuster that were historical accidents should be done away with.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 03:59 PM) Germany had no guns to stop him when he rose to power though. What?
  11. "blame the marginalized minority for society's problems" wasn't exactly some new innovation Hitler came up with
  12. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 09:20 PM) The new Arcade Fire is maybe the worst record I have ever listened to without turning off early. I loved everything else they've done so much I kept waiting, maybe the closer would pull me back in because they've got a real good history there (Sprawl II, In the Backseat and My Body is a Cage are all awesome) but it was just more garbage. Both songs I've heard on the radio are terrible, and Sprawl II owns.
  13. That's not the only thing I take from your response, but labor, especially blue-collar labor, doesn't need liberals using it as a whipping boy or an insult.
  14. There is nothing wrong with driving a truck or any other blue-collar labor. I wish people wouldn't use that as an insult.
  15. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 09:15 AM) Like I said to them, I'll say to you. You say that now. In 10 years remember you were happy about this, because if you thought it was worse before, wait until the Republicans enter with THIS sort of power now. But they've always had this power. They could have used it in 2005, and almost did, before Democrats negotiated with them. This was just a change in the extra-constitutional parliamentary rules of one house of Congress. This wasn't a Constitutional amendment or anything. The Senate is now a more functional body, and that's unequivocally good. I mean, look at Grassely's 'threat' here: Am I to believe that the Republican party wouldn't appoint more conservative judges like Scalia? Is he not aware of Roberts and Alito?
  16. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 09:42 AM) StrangeSox: Listen to me say all the right things, but mean none of them. I wish I had your powers of knowing everyone's true thoughts and beliefs. edit: I will say that in one regard, I do think this is universally a good thing for my political beliefs regardless of who is in power, even beyond my support for democratic majorities being able to govern. The filibuster is much more useful to reactionaries looking to stop things than it is to progressives looking to do things. Even for judicial appointments, Democrats haven't been able to use it to keep right-wing conservatives out. So aside from being wrong on the principles, it's not even really politically useful to me.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 09:08 AM) Having the Filibuster didn't stop Roberts or Alito from getting onto the court. Or Janice Rogers Brown.
  18. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 09:03 AM) You're happier now. Wait until a party shift occurs. This is shortsighted. It's not shortsighted. It's how a democracy should function. I'll be unhappy if right-wing Republicans are elected to majorities in Congress and to the White House. I'll fear the s***ty, horrible policies we'll get. But I'll fully believe that those majorities have every right to pass those policies.
