  4. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 05:53 PM) Supposedly, there are a couple new polls out that show Ohio a tie, or a Romney lead. It was reported on FOX therefore one of the polls was Rasmussen, so who knows. There was the Rasmussen poll today but I think that's it http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/20...obama-1860.html
  5. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 05:52 PM) looks like the experts are following my lead by calling into question Nate Silver's brilliance. http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2012/1...win-147618.html http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/20...e-silver/58460/
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) For local effect... they are now predicting that around Wednesday, there will be 20 to 30 foot waves in southern Lake Michigan, as the storm remnants cross the eastern Great Lakes and shove the water west. Could be significant lakefront flooding in Chicagoland. Also, seperately... anyone read about the HMS Bounty? Replica ship now mostly for tourists, lost power, foundered and sank off North Carolina. 14 people had to be rescued, and 2 are missing. WTF were they even DOING out there in this? They set out for Florida from Connecticut last week and were trying to go around the storm.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 11:08 AM) More from Eugene Volokh on the legality of employers threatening employees with their jobs based on their votes: http://www.volokh.com/2012/10/29/firing-or...ed-on-his-vote/ more: http://www.volokh.com/2012/10/29/employers...ate-is-elected/ bottom line:
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) feet in bounds, sure. But no matter what, if the first appendage/bodypart touches the line, its out. This wasn't a push-out, either. I don't see any way to have a logical rule about the boundaries of the playing field where that play is ruled a catch.
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 12:05 PM) It's just amazing to me that so many took my dislike for the specifics of the rule as "THEY BLEW THAT CALL!! HE WASN'T OUT OF BOUNDS!!!". I already said they made the right call, I am just disappointed in what the rule actually is. But like I said, forget it, move on, I can't win here. If it happened against some other team, maybe. But how else can you have an "out of bounds" rule that wouldn't call that clearly "out of bounds"??

  11. there is nothing to love about a hugely destructive storm
  12. It's a good argument for early voting at least.
  13. I do not have a link for the paranoia a few on the left exhibited in the run-up to the 2004 election. Maybe check democraticunderground?
  14. Obama declares a State of Emergency, postpones election indefinitely (channeling paranoid libs circa 2004)
  15. Got destroyed in both of my leagues. Thanks, Tom Brady and Julius Jones.
  16. Thought for sure Jay was going to get himself hurt
  17. I always check those lists, but elected judges are dumb.
  18. I don't think we should to go the super majority route.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 26, 2012 -> 07:22 AM) Yep. Of course I have to face Doug Martin this week too. Ugh! Same. That's a big hole to climb out of.
