QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 05:03 PM) Jones gave up a hit to the first batter he faced and then he and the rest of the pen retired every single hitter the rest of the game. 14 in a row.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) Don't you pay FIT on Social Security income? I thought that was one of the Greenspan reforms. I'd imagine they might be low enough to cancel it out with eitc mortgage etc.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 04:35 PM) I don't understand why this is such a problem for so many people. What do they do with their kids the other 180 days/year they aren't in school? There are a lot more options in the summer.- The Democrat Thread

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 03:29 PM) I didn't say he cost me $5500, I said POTENTIALLY. I have the whole season mapped out w/ my picks, I was pretty damn confident. It's possible that shank of a kick cost me $5500. please post the rest of your picks so that we can all follow along- The Democrat Thread
He also didn't inherit anything! Except a wealthy upbringing full of connections and a bunch of money that paid for his multiple Harvard degrees. I wonder if he really does buy his own "bootstraps" bulls*** and really can't fathom why everyone couldn't make as much money as he did if they just applied themselves.- The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Mother Jones got their hands on a Romney rich-person fundraiser video. Nothing truly awful in it, but you might be able to turn some of this into a "cling to their guns" (from 08) level annoyance. Do they really believe that the 47-49% of Americans who pay no net FIT are hardcore Obama/Democrat voters?- 2012-2013 NFL Thread

I don't know why they couldn't get this thing done over the weekend, but that signals that the delegates still have some serious concerns about the proposal and whether or not the union members as a whole would vote to approve. You can't go back to work this week and then strike again next week if it turns out the membership doesn't like what was offered. It also makes me wonder how much of the "we'll be back Monday" rhetoric was coming from the CPS side versus the CTU side. I haven't seen any polling on this issue aside from a brief mention on a blog that 60% of parents were siding with the CTU, but I don't recall the source. This Reuters article mentions this: - CTU is Going on Strike
