  1. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) guys, painting an entire set of fans with a broad brush is insanely dumb Excellent post.
  2. No Tad yet, Cintron at second. Good to see Ozuna back in the lineup, the legs must be feeling better. Suprised to see Manny in the lineup, Francona has been hinting heavily that Manny might be getting some rest. We shall see. . .
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 07:13 PM) I am still waiting for the supposed fan of both teams to update his avatar. You should have the current world champions in your avatar, not the team we swept out. 2004 was so 2 years ago. Why should I? I am a Red Sox fan first and I have a lot of respect for what Theo has done for the Red Sox organization since he arrived. On the other hand, I also really enjoy baseball in general. In turn, I have a great deal of respect for what the White Sox have done over the past 5/6 years. So, I do enjoy reading what the fans of the White Sox have to say. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't recall ever reading that fans of others teams couldn't post here and must have White Sox only avatars. I haven't disrespected anyone here, nor do I plan to. BTW I am not a "he". Getting back to the point of the thread, I can see why people can't stand Red Sox fans. The thing is is that everyone and their sister jumped on the bandwagon during the 2004 season. It was really sad to see because these people don't know anything about the history of the team nor do they really care. They have taken up a lot of the seats in Fenway and it makes it really hard for real fans to even step foot into the park. Like a lot of people have mentioned on this board, the real fans stick with their team through good times and the bad, and I have a feeling the Sox are going to go through another playoff drought. I am guessing a lot of the hangers on will start to drop off as time goes by.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) OMFG WILLIE HARRIS! Remember . . . Willie Harris scored the winning run for the Sox in game 4. Don't mock him too much I've been looking forward to this series for a long time, I already have my tickets for when the Pale Hose come to Fenway. Should be a good one
  5. This game really has me questioning what exactly is going on in Ozzie's mind, 3 runs were conquerable. Whey leave him out there Ozzie?
  6. Politte has to go - designate him for assignment tomorrow. This is not an overreaction, it's simply stating a fact, he no long has his stuff anymore and the Sox cannot afford to allow him to cost them runs
  7. If we come back to at least tie this, I honestly think the Cubs fans are going to comp-letely lose it. The garbage throwing on the field is going to pale in comparison
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) Are you f***in' serious? I don't want any part of the Twins in the playoffs. Santana/Liriano scare the living s*** out of me. Yep, I do. In my eyes, the Twins are head and shoulders above the Tigers and I would want to the see the Sox beat the best
  9. Man, we could have used that with guys on base
  10. Honestly, at this point, I would like to see the White Sox win the division and for the Twins to win the wild card. The Tiger's luck is starting to run out. . .
  11. Yeah that inning kind of hurt, it hurts even more that it came from Neifi Perez of all people
  12. I was holding off saying anything after that 1st inning because I just knew that the first inning was an anomaly and the Sox would make it a ballgame. It just didn't have that feeling where you know that it's over. They play 9 innings for a reason. . .
  13. This one is going to be fun to watch because I really do think that we will get the win against big Z. Big Z is going to give up some runs to us, plus Dusty is going to want to keep him in way longer than he should. As we have proven, the Cubs bullpen is pretty nasty. If Buerhle can hold them to a couple this game will be ours. As a bonus, I have a feeling the Tigers are going to lose again today, I have watched them in their series against Pitt, and I have to say, they are hitting a mini-slump, so now is the time to gain some ground on them.
  14. That was a very big out for Jon, Barrett has a habit of just stroking them out into the seats when you least expect it
  15. Pods once again showing that maybe he shouldn't be stealing bases. That's the 11th CS this season
  16. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) why? He can't be much past 80 pitches... and he seems to be in a groove. At the time I wrote that, I expected Todd Walker/ D Lee to battle him and get him near the 100 pitch count. I didn't expect them to swing so early in the count. I also expected one of the two to get Pierre home
  17. I hope BMac is warming up, no way should Garland be pitching the 6th
  18. This is really hard to swallow, Jon is trying to nibble at the corners and its not happening. No command at all and the Cubs of all teams are hitting him.
