Love how they focused on Derrek Lee when Gonzalez was nearly picked off at 1st. :puke

Sox vs Cubs 3/13/04
C'mon Sox. They lead off with a 2-base error and he's stranded at 3rd? Unacceptable.

ESPN MLB Video Game
The problem I have with the game is that it looks like a carbon copy of last year's version, which I didn't care for too much. However, it does provide a bit of realism, something that MVP/Triple Play/Grand Slam/Tony La Russa Baseball has always had a tough time doing.

Game today?
Frank stole a base? Attaboy, Big Hurt!

Bo visits injured AZ prep star
Good stuff. I also like how Stanford will honor his scholarship even though he may never play again. B)

2004 Spring Training Analysis: The Bullpen
Nice article. Looks like plenty of viable candidates to choose from. I still wouldn't be surprised if Mike Jackson grabbed one of those bullpen slots, though he's a longshot for it.

ESPN MLB Video Game
Saw this on the IGN website on their play of the day segment. It's for the upcoming ESPN MLB video game. Brief 12 minute matchup pitting the Sox vs. Cubs. The link is below. Quick note, it's about a 60 MB download (Streaming video), so if your PC can't handle it, there's another link for a 15 MB download, but the video is a bit choppier. Enjoy. Click either Windows Media Modem or Windows Media DSL/Cable for clearer streaming video.

Sox's play angers Guillen
How can he be sure of that? Even with the strikeout, the way Valenzuela has been playing, he could force his way onto the 25 man roster.
- PAUL KONERKO

Wright vs Grilli?
I think unless Wright and Rauch are completely lights out in ST, Grilli's gonna get that spot, whether it's in the rotation or pitching in long relief. I don't think the Sox want to return Grilli to Florida.

From Today's Star Tribune
So it was Everett that made that comment? Every board I read had people saying Konerko said it. Good riddance to Jurassic Carl.

Royals already troubled by nagging injuries:
How in the world is that jinxing them? The Sox have been very fortunate to stay healthy the past couple of years, with the exception of 2001, and I'm not wishing injuries on any of the Royals. I'm simply saying that if injuries like that cause KC to have to bring up pitchers who might not be ready that the Sox need to be able to win to distance themselves a bit.

Royals already troubled by nagging injuries:
I know these are minor injuries, but with Snyder already gone and Appier likely not back until May, they could be seriously shaky. The Sox need to jump out of the gate immediately.

Okay, they fixed it and I feel stupid. :dips*** ESPN gets off.......this time.

Another ESPN.com foul-up:
Maybe this is just a glitch with my computer, but ESPN has a new feature for their website called "My ESPN". It has a sidebar that is listed with local teams as constituted by zipcode. Living in the Chicago area, I put in my zipcode (60654)and it brought up the Bulls, Bears, Cubs, Loyola (Chi), UIC, and Blackhawks. Notice a certain team missing. I know this isn't a big deal, but it's the principle of the matter. Maybe it's just a glitch that will be restored tomorrow. But I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. If anyone else has this feature on ESPN.com, put in a Chicago area zipcode and see if the same thing comes up on your screen. (Disregard. The error was fixed.)

Sox v Rox 3-9-04 Game Thread
Base hit to drive in a run. Guess he may not be so bad after all. Of course, that's just one plate appearance. More to come.
