QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) I wonder if anyone has done the statistics on whether or not kickers are more likely to make or miss the second kick if the coach calls a TO just before the ball is snapped. Your boy Rian Lindell just drilled two 49 yarders because of this. Personally, I wouldn't do it if the game is outdoors. No reason to give the kicker a read on what the ball is going to do. Indoors, I say take a shot, but do it WELL BEFORE the snap, so he can't kick it.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) The Packers' running game is too bad to trust. They miss Grant big-time. Stupid coaching and penalties didn't help matters any. Another play that wound up being huge in the game was the 3rd and 9 the Falcons had late in the third quarter. They threw underneath to Chris Snelling, who somehow magically eluded the tackles of about 5 Packer defenders and gained 12 yards for an easy 1st down. They later scored a td on 4th and goal.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) Since it was 4th down there, they didn't have much choice on how long they left him. A win today and the Bears are firmly in control of the division, thanks to the Falcons. I didn't say they had any choice in the matter, just asked the question of whether they left him too much time. Apparently they did. The personal foul on the kickoff obviously didn't help. Secondly, as a Bears fan, I'll thank Mike McCarthy. He's the man who caused the loss.

I hate getting beat because of coaching blunders. Thank you, Mike McCarthy.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) Some of the worst play calls I've witnessed in a long, long time by Green Bay. First and goal from the 4 and they dont even try to run. What a catch! Question is, did they leave Matty Ice too long?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) Why is anything that hurts the packers considered a "Shame"? This is a Chicago board Anyway...I think it's safe to say that everything you just wrote could be applied as a summary of most of the league this year. A few failed executions and a mistake or two is the difference between a top 10 pick and a playoff birth. Because I bet on the Packers.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) This game is proof that GB wont do anything in the playoffs. They have zero ability to run the ball when they only need a yard. The shame is, despite the Falcons' ability to run the ball today, the Packers should probably be winning the game. Poor execution in short yardage and some terrible coaching blunders have put them in a hole.
-
Why don't the Packers run this Kuhn fella in short yardage situations?
-
You are an absolute jackass, Mike McCarthy.
-
QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) He is the reason GB is losing. 1st and goal from the 2 and he doesnt call one conventoinal run? And then the no challenge on 4th and 3. He calls a play to a guy who has never caught a pass this year, then he calls a sneak from 5 feet out. I don't care if he wasn't sure about that challenge, you have to throw the flag... This could end up being a 14 point swing purely because of coaching blunders. Edit: And that is not even mentioning the Aaron Rodgers play he didn't challenge that would have netted them a first down on their first drive instead of having to punt.
-
Mike McCarthy, can you make a few more huge blunders here in the first half?
-
Anyone see Key Johnson say Cutler would have a better day throwing the football today than Michael Vick? Even Da Coach gave him a "C'mon Man."

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) Stat of the day... The Bears are 5-1 this year when entering the game as the underdog. The Bears are a hot pick by a lot of the sharps here in town this week...

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 09:13 AM) Stopping a dog from eating feces is usually easy, first make it taste bad. Right, because it's not bad enough already?

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 01:27 AM) Be kinda neat to see Auburn get upset and see an Oregon-TCU championship and a Stanford-Wisconsin Rose Bowl. Are we certain that if Auburn lost a tight game to South Carolina that they would still not finish ahead of TCU? -
As much as I hate to say this, I love the Packers today against an overrated Atlanta team... Plays for the day... GB +2.5 Baltimore - 7.5 Seattle +2.5 Carolina +9.5 San Diego +3 San Diego/Indy under 51.5 I think I am going to enter the Hilton SuperContest next year. $1,500 entry. Pick 5 games every week. Winner usually hits between 57-60% of his/her picks and takes home around $200k. Since the start of last season, I've hit 56.7% against the spread picking ALL games. Could probably bump that a few percentage points if I only picked 5 games per week.... Hilton SuperContest

Why does my dog try to eat his poop?

Ok, just picked up Uncharted 2 for $36 and free shipping on ebay. On a roll today.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) No, but I haven't looked too closely either. My main thought is just that this damn dog has been the worst of everything--so why not expand the run to worms. Well you'd probably have seen them if you've been picking up poop all weekend...so hopefully there are not.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 02:55 PM) I think part of the problem is that she is a first time dog owner and got a massively expensive pug puppy (which, frankly, pisses me off as the owner of two rescues). She did basically no research into the breed (and if she had she would find that they are impossible to train, difficult to housebreak and a walking health problem). And, judging from the dogs behavior, she does no training with it. Ugh. I feel so dumb for saying I would do this. But I think, generally, when you ask someone a favor like this it is implicit that the dog is housebroken and knows basic manners. I am not saying my dogs are perfect--but they are housebroken and understand house rules. I just feel so bad for my poor monster dogs. The big dumb lab mix is absolutely traumatized. I am just hoping that the reason the dog is eating its business ISN'T because it has worms. Because if it gives my girls worms I am going to have someone's head. Well do you see worms in the poop?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 02:55 PM) McDaniels/Broncos being fined for illegally taping a practice. That is hilarious to me. I wonder if this was his idea when the Pats got accused of doing it back in 08', or if he is just taking what he learned from Bellichick and bringing it to Denver...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) I think the issue with this is...everyone's been saying this about Vick since the Giants game last week. There's every reason to believe the Iggles will be expecting this. Well it's not really a matter of the Eagles expecting it...it's a matter of Vick being left-handed and not being particularly wonderful at throwing across his body, like most other human beings. That's not to say it's something you necessarily try to do intentionally, but rather something to remember when you do force Vick out of the pocket. Contain him to the left, flush him to the right.
-
Really excited for this Bears - Eagles game tomorrow....hopefully one of the things the Bears learned is to push Vick to his right when he escapes the pocket, as he is much less-inclined to throw the ball than when he is scrambling to his left. Going to be a tough game...but should be our best litmus test since the Packer game.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) If I were Boston, I'd think the spite press would be worth 3/$50 or 4/$60 to me. I think the first year you might realize some real value, then the novelty would wear off and a real decline might begin.
