QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) No, I tried that a few years ago, baseball still blacks out the regular season even if you have the sports package. I dunno if I get more channels than I am supposed to, because the installer guy hooked me up big time, but I get like every FSN channel and MASN, YES, NESN, and even Comcast Chicago a lot of the time...the only thing I have trouble getting are some of the Cali teams, because they claim Vegas as their home market (since we are a vacant market).

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) Brignac singles up the middle. That'll be the game for D1, lasted 4+ innings and here comes TPain. Ahh, this is a shame. This was the one game where the pitching matchup clearly favored us, and Danksy wet the bed. Need to get a good start out of JP tomorrow.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 28, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) Plyo+core syn today. Awesome workout day. Wow, Rock. I commend you. How warm do you guys keep your thermostats usually? I just did Plyo, and I think it is 81 in here, and I feel like I might faint... Again, Rock, amazing work. Keep it up brotha.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 28, 2010 -> 10:54 PM) Scott Podsednik WAR - 0.4 Juan Pierre WAR - 0.5 What a shock. So many of us have basically been saying that Pods and Pierre are basically the same player, and what a surprise, after you lengthen the sample size a bit, umm, they are.

QUOTE (since56 @ May 29, 2010 -> 05:42 AM) The bigs are not a developemental league. Either he gets it going for real now or I'd rather see Vizquel at short and Ramirez at second. If Beckham can get his average over 250 maybe put vizquel at 3rd and make Teahan utility or trade him for a prospect. Teahan, Ramirez, Beckham, what an infield. Average at best defensivesly and can't hit the floor if they fell out of bed. Whew are they bad! Sox fan forever and always will be., but lets not candy coat the truth. Vizquel is hitting much worse than Beckham.

For whatever reason, the Rays did not give him a steady diet of breaking balls. It's as if they did not advance scout us or something...Gordo was lost against the Indians' pitchers, who fed him a steady diet of sliders, and Tampa came right out and threw him fastballs for the most part. Hopefully this will get his confidence up, which is the most important thing for us all...

Good work everyone! Just did Back and Chest after partying like a rockstar for the past week with my best friend in town. Feels sooo good to do it. Was pretty pleased to see how I bounced back. Gotta say guys, this program has changed my life as a single dude. I can't tell you how many girls were talking to me this past week that probably wouldn't have given me much of a chance before I did this program. Not only is it a confidence booster to know you look great, but the women really do respond to a lean, toned and tanned body just like we stupid men fall for women. I always thought women were less superficial. Wrong!

Just watched the final season on my tivo over the past two days, basically because I was having a hard time avoiding Brian's avatar in all the other threads A few thoughts...agree with Fathom: Elizabeth Mitchell is a MILF. For you guys that think Evangeline Lilly isn't hot in the last few seasons - you're completely insane. She's incredibly gorgeous. And sleep with a girl that is a bit athletic and you'll know why. Definitely agree with Kalapse and Willie that the mysteries are better left unexplained for the most part. Most of the time they did explain some of the more supernatural elements of the island, the explanation was pretty lame and disappointing. Leaving them to your imagination makes them all the more appealing to me. I loved the final season and I completely loved the season finale. I am a bit of a wuss when it comes to emotional shows/movies, and I fully admit I cried like a little girl more than once during the final episode. I always liked the Jack/Kate pairing and was glad to see them hook back up at the end. I don't know how you guys have such a hard time identifying with Matthew Fox's character! Guy was the classic tragic figure in every sense of the word. I never liked Charlie's character (probably because he was at one time dating Evangeline Lilly in real life and I was jealous). Great show, great characters, great final season. I will miss my Losties.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 27, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) Meh.. that can go either way in either case. I personally think guys who are just good human beings/people more or less have a good heart. Hell I consider myself a good person, but one of my closest friends is the nicest, good hearted dude I've ever met and he has some friends who are pretty much assholes (alot of times to him). But he just has a good heart to look past some of that scrutiny, and his friends love him even if they mess with him. Who asked you anyways? I kid. Regardless, Ozzie needs to create an atmosphere in which his players have a chance to succeed. If he does that well, then the team has a fighting chance. I tend to think he does that, by the way he handles the pitching staff, takes heat off the players, and creates a fun atmosphere. Whether or not they actually perform well-enough is on them, in the end. But that's just my lone opinion.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 27, 2010 -> 05:12 PM) I don't think there's a single manager those two guys wouldn't like. They are both just outstanding human beings and better teammates. I agree, but I also think that if Ozzie was some huge A-hole to play for that Jimmy wouldn't have been hugging the guy after every home run he hit. People that are great human beings usually are outstanding judges of character.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 27, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) Everyone says that Ozzie is a player's manager, and his supposed best attribute is being able to motivate his players and take the pressure off of them. I don't think even greg775 would say Ozzie is a superior in-game manager. With that said, if the players are tuning him out and/or not enjoying playing for him, then something needs to be done. Sometimes relationships just end, and it seems like it's happening here. I don't know Fathom. I see guys like Mark and Jim Thome adoring Ozzie, and it makes it a hell of a lot more difficult for me to believe what guys like Nick Swisher have to say about him.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 27, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) True, but you don't often see teams actually make the postseason and have such severe chemistry issues as that team did (ie: Swisher complaining about being benched in the postseason). Well, it's not like there was some great run they made all year that was really going to build any great chemistry. The postseason was in doubt til the minute they actually clinched it. Then all the sudden you wake up and go play in Tampa and before you know it, you're at home sitting on your couch. I'm sure if you asked, many of those will tell you those last 2-3 weeks were a complete blur to them.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 27, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) They made the postseason in 2008, and the clubhouse was awful! Well, it's more a general rule of thumb, and secondly, it's not like they made the postseason because they were winning down the stretch. They won because of the ineptitude of the Twins.

I think all you have to do is look at the win-loss record of a team and you'll see whether things are nasty or if they are hunky dory. When you have winning teams, you have everyone patting eachother on the back. When you underperform and don't meet expectations, you have a lot of backstabbing and infighting. Again, this happens in all walks of life, whenever a group of people are put together with a goal to achieve.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 27, 2010 -> 03:51 PM) Jenks was livid with the Sox this off-season regarding comments Ozzie in particular made about Jenks and his weight issue. He's also a young kid with a lot of growing up to do. This is the same guy that pitches completely horribly, then doesn't understand why anyone might suggest he needs to take a break from the closer's role. He's a kid that has been a drunken fool for many years of his life. Put it this way - imagine that there were always cameras and reporters around your office and writing stories and commentaries on your workplace. I can only imagine the things normal workers would say about their bosses and vice versa. It's human nature whenever you are in high-stress situations to comment and vent about it. This happens in every industry - there just aren't reporters and cameras around most workplaces to tell everyone about it.
