Ahh, tackled B & B with the weights tonight...you're right, Rock, that is an entirely different animal. My forearms are just gone. Again, I want to point out how solid of a workout the bands give you...I firmly believe they made me more toned than strictly working with the weights would have done. But if my body works as it should, the weights will definitely make me gain more size.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 06:44 PM) Haha, I may try and do it after the game starts with the game on in the background, but nothing is getting in between me, the Sox, and JFP tonight. Yeah, I'm doing it after the game.

Come on guys, we gotta make some sacrifices to stay on track....
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) I'm sorry, I really should have put "HATER!" in green, because I was totally joshing around... I said I was glad you liked your iPad, and I meant it. Oh, ok, fair enough. I thought you were razzing my Appleness.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) HATER! I am glad you like your iPad, though. That's really all that matters. Does it upset you that I refuse to take your bait, Steve? Get over it...I am happy with the device. Just like millions and millions of people are happy with Apple devices. Why is that so difficult for you to accept?
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) Windows 7 rocks. As for a previous post, I don't see why dropping $650 on an iPad that is guaranteed to not have features that you fear might be corrupted by a faulty OS that is no longer sold is such a great idea. Anyhoo. Clearly there's a hater in the thread, and that isn't me. So because the OS is no longer sold means it isn't still running on millions of machines? Sorry, but Microsoft has not earned my trust yet. I will not buy a windows machine simply because this latest OS hasn't made everyone's computing experience a complete disaster yet. And to be honest with you, the money really isn't that huge of a deal to me. The device does exactly what I need and want it to do, is of a more aesthetically pleasing and intuitive design for me to use. I know in advance it will be well-made, it will continue to be improved, it will not be obsolete in a year because it has a company standing behind it that will support it. Therefore, to me, the pricetag is acceptable.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) See, that's the hate. My PC, running Windows 7, has never had an issue and performs at an extremely high level while running all of my graphic and web design programs at once. Keep rolling with your uneducated opinion, though. I've had both machines, Steve. The amount of crap I had to put up with on a windows machine is exponentially higher than what I deal with on an Apple machine. It's not uneducated, it's experience. What about your PCs running Vista? How did that work out? What a piece of junk that OS was. Now I am supposed to go buy another windows machine just because Microsoft has basically tried to reverse engineer Snow Leopard? Windows machines have proven over the last half-decade to be inferior machines. I should run out and buy one just because they have managed to create an OS that has lasted more than 3 months without any common fatal flaws?
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) I'm not meaning to hate here. I've used a G5 in the past for my profession and it was a phenomenal machine. The hate in this thread really seems to be toward Windows PCs, that some users just can't even bother with despite the great pricepoint and incredible performance. Thus, they are forced to purchase a lesser product at a higher price, or go balls out and spend $1500 on a Mac laptop. Anyway, that's just my review. The iPad is pointless. If it were half the price, it might be worth it, but still the highest storage is what? 64 gigs? My PC laptop eats that for breakfast! It's really not meant to compete dollar for dollar with your Crap (I mean PC) laptop.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) Really? With the glare on the screen? Your eyes will not thank you. Any light in the room or heaven forbid if you read outdoors and you don't stand a chance. I've read with it for several hours already without being bothered by the glare. I was upset to read, however, that it is difficult to see in the sunlight.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) It's not hate, it's just a realistic opinion. I have a laptop. The iPad brings nothing new to the table, and it's inability to connect to a printer, to view java, the less-than-optimal WiFi performance, the smudgy screen, the glare on the screen... plus the fact that it weighs about the same as a netbook and like 2.5 lbs less than a laptop you can get for cheaper that has way more features and compatibility... how is this a device anyone really needs? I guess if you don't have a laptop, and for whatever reason you'd want to spend more than a laptop to have apps that are just prettied up versions of things you can get on the web, but that you have to pay for in some instances, well... I'm rambling but this is a product that brings nothing new to the table and is more of a gimmick and a "oh look what I got" device than anything else. I don't have a laptop. I avoid windows machines. I often work night shifts and weekend shifts where I am required to sit in front of a computer for 12 hours at a time. A Mac laptop runs about $1,000, and I wouldn't use it for any serious productivity tasks. I wanted something for internet surfing, to read books with, to watch movies on, to check my email, etc. It serves my needs absolutely perfectly.
  11. I don't know why it is that Apple inspires such hate from certain people.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 02:05 PM) I picked one of these up to test our product on at work, so I got to play around with it a bit today. What a completely pointless piece of technology. I happen to think it's very useful. I actually have it and have used it for more than a few hours.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 08:24 AM) i haven't been able to stay consistent with my life schedule right now - having lost my real job, i've been picking up work as an extra in a bunch of tv pilots/movies and those things last ALLLLL day. I mean, I'm talking 5am to 9pm kind of all day. And afterwards you're just shot. So missed a couple last week, and may miss a couple more this week - but i'm still getting it in when i can. C+B monday and Plyo yesterday, S+A today. Just do your best, man. Life happens.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) Just got back to it today after a 3 day hiatus due to excessive busy-ness. This was the 2nd time I took more than one day off at a time and both times I have come back to plyo. If that doesn't jump-start you back into the program I don't know what will. This was especially tough, as I just came of a rest week so it has been awhile since my last plyo. I'll tell you guys what though, after 3 days I was having some P90X withdrawals. Feel a lot better now Great to hear it, Gooch. Obviously, that is where a lot of people fall off the wagon is when they take a few days off. I did plyo last night too...sure does turn a tired body into one feeling much better....I absolutely love that workout. Tonight is going to stink. Work a 12 hour shift, come home late to catch the White Sox, and workout AFTER the game after being up since 4:15....B & B, here I come!
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 02:57 PM) I really hate gotchya media these days. Like the President doesn't have enough on his mind, if he on the spot mispronounces something let's jump all over him. GMAFB. I agree, he is a meticulously prepared man who was caught unprepared, and it probably just freaked him out a bit. Even still, I think his level of fandom is a reasonable topic of discussion.
  16. QUOTE (vandy125 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) I think it's pretty cool to have the White Sox being represented this way. However, I disagree with ya on the booing as it is something you do from a distance to show your disapproval in one of the few ways. When you're in front of the person, then you can discuss the problems you have with them. Do you clap right in front of a person when you meet them? That would be the opposite reaction of booing and still wouldn't make any sense. That would crack me up if I saw someone do either of those things right in front of someone. Weird that I have to go into this at all... just plain weird. That is a fair point. I do think people are prone to groupthink and acting in anonymity much differently than they would individually. But you're right, I should have thought more before making that point.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) It's beating a dead horse, but I for the life of me can't figure out why Sox fans would boo Obama. Maybe it's just one of those instant things that happen at a game. See the pic, somebody boos and everybody does. The guy has pledged his Sox allegiance over and over and we boo him?? WTF. I think it's one of the coolest things that's ever happened, that the president loves the Sox. It's simple. Thousands of people in one place, shaken up with lots of booze, and now add any spector of politics = booing by default
  18. Well, booing is cowardly. I highly doubt a person would boo someone else upon meeting them, and yet people do it from the safety of anonymity all the time. Secondly, the point about Obama being an extremely casual fan is a fair one. If we're going to celebrate him for being a fan of our favorite franchise, it is at least fair to discuss just how much of a fan he actually is. No, I don't think any of us are unhappy that he sports the logo and colors whenever he can. Yes, it was a bit lame that he couldn't name one stinking player.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) How torrent-friendly is the iPad? Can you get a lot of content through that channel? I don't mess around with torrent, so I dunno...
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 12:09 PM) I like the concept of the iPad, I just don't like its closed nature and the fact that you have to pay to do anything with it pretty much. I've discovered it will definitely be a big moneymaker for iTunes...
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 10:24 AM) This is what happens when you're more obsessed with finding a minority coach than an actual good coach. Hewitt would have been a better fit for Purnell, as at least he's proven he can recruit in the midwest. What makes you think Hewitt would have taken the job? He turned down St Johns, which is basically the same exact situation as Depaul...
  22. Apparently they could've hired Tony Barbee from UTEP but they waited several days before bothering to call him, because they were busy calling the likes of Jamie Dixon and Mark Few...
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 09:58 AM) So all of a sudden $15M can't get you anything? Purnell? That's it? EVERY school is throwing around that kind of money right now. EVERYWHERE.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 09:52 AM) What a f***ing joke. The AD needs to be fired. Sqwert, I'm not saying Purnell is a great hire, but come on...who in their right mind would possibly go there? What legitimate coach with any career momentum is going to accept a position at Depaul right now?
  25. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) I don't think it's the best job out there, but I think rotten is a little much. There's a lot of potential there. You could rekindle the traditional success of DePaul, I do think there's enough of a fan base that would come out if the team ever got decent again. The arena situation is clearly a major problem, but make a run for a couple of years and you can start throwing out new facilities as a plan. I just think if they got a young energetic guy that can recruit Chicago they'd be 10 times better. I agree with your coaching suggestion, but even the hot assistant coaches are getting smarter these days. That program is a dead-end, and these guys are using enough foresight to have patience and avoid it for the chance at a quick buck. If you have any desire to spend your career coaching college basketball, and you're an assistant on the upswing, you'd be best to avoid a dead-end desitnation just so you can buy a bigger house earlier in your career.
