QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Massive number? You think more than 1 in 100 of random people are alcoholics? I honestly don't know the exact number on that piece, but I'd be surprised if it was higher than 1%. Have you ever looked at what the actual symptoms are of being an alcoholic? If you go by those symptoms and warning signs, there is a MUCH larger percentage of drinkers that can be classified as an alcoholic. Alcohol quiz

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) Not sure how you think that's possible. 75% of this country drinks at least occasionally - what % are alcoholics? 1% maybe? Cocaine, after 2-3 uses, is something like 30% addictive. They are on different levels for addiction. 1%? Maybe officially (which I still doubt), but you're not counting the massive number of undiagnosed alcoholics there are walking amongst us.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) I only have 3 bands and it seemed like I didnt have the full spectrum of what I needed. With the adjustable weights, its much easier to tailor the workout. Oh yeah, I agree. I only have 3 as well (I had 4, but I broke one) - a 15 lb, a 30 lb, and a 35 lb. Being able to use the weights is a much better option, but the bands do have certain benefits that the weights do not. I think ultimately the weights produce a better workout. I'm just saying this program still works awfully well with the bands as well.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) The back and bi's and shoulders and arms are killer if you really work the weights. Yeah, I was thinking the B & B is going to be an entirely different workout for me from now on...although I think you may be underestimating what the bands can do a bit too... Nonetheless, I am excited to find out tomorrow and next week.

How the changes affect future and current loans
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) Can we be grandfathered in? Oh, so it doesn't count for existing loans? Just future loans?

So are you guys telling me that they actually passed that thing about your monthly payment cannot be more than 10% of your gross monthly income?

Tex, care to explain a bit more for the slower amongst us? I'm not even sure what this is...

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) In terms of processing speed, this is not true at all. My fiance has the 2nd generation iphone (3G), and I have the 3rd (3Gs). The speed over everything from loading pages, loading programs, even screen swipes take twice as long, if not more. Hardware limitations are hardward limitations. There will be the same issue with the iPad, I almost guarantee it. I was talking about features, such as cut and paste, picture messaging, etc. Of course even Apple can't magically update your hardware through iTunes updates. This applies to anything...if you insist on having the fastest everything, you're constantly going to be shelling out $. That really doesn't bother me...as long as the product still works at a reasonable level, that's fine by me.

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) I disagree there won't be a price drop. While it may not be subsidized, it would shock me if in the next gen the 16 gb isn't phased out and the rest drop down. The 16 gB one is useless. Well, I said I didn't think you will see a "massive" price drop. The nature of new technology, and electronics particularly, is that the price of things do indeed come down over time. I would not be surprised either. I am not going to lose sleep over a $50-100 price drop from 1st gen to 2nd gen. I also wouldn't doubt if you are correct and the 16 gig does get dropped and a larger HD size becomes available. One of the points I was trying to make is I don't believe this is a situation like the iPhone where there is a price drop within months of literally 50% of the purchase price. Obviously, I have no crystal ball and I could be mistaken, but judging from the comments from the high-level designers at Apple as well as their marketing campaign ("A magical device at an unbelievable price"), it would seem to be a mistake for them to suddenly find a few hundred dollars to shave off the price tag. The other point is the open or soft format Apple uses. I am no IT wizard, so I cannot explain things as well as some others here, but by way of Apple's software updates, one can keep older generation iPhones up to speed pretty well when compared against their newer gen counterparts. My guess is the same will be true with the iPad.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 10:59 AM) Glad they stayed with 12 pitchers. Odds are Linebrink will fall apart or need a DL trip anyway, so we might as well keep them fresh, instead of pitching once every 10 days or so. Fixed.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 07:16 AM) Nice. We expect a full review by next week's end. I think they are holding the delivery til Saturday. Trust me, you will definitely hear about it then.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:08 AM) got my Chest and Back in, and ugh, I HATE coming back after missing a week or two - it's just brutal. Numbers were not great at all and had to use the chair for some pullups in round 2, but it was good to get back in gear. Plyo tomorrow. I know...this is what bothers me about ever stopping....

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 11:03 PM) Jordan Danks has a very long way to go with regards to shortening his swing. I soured on him big time the moment I saw him play.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 01:15 AM) Is that a bar? Or are people under 21 allowed in to? It's a bar. But you may be able to eat dinner there at some point... As I said though, AJ got carded walking in...

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) I usually start at 30ish and end up at 20 depending on the exercise. IN the strip sets, I end up with 10lbs and cant lift my arms. Just busted out Chest & Back for the first time with dumbbells. There were only a few exercises which utilized the weights in this routine, but it was nice to do them with weights instead of bands. I must say though, I prepared myself well with the bands. I was able to do 12-15 reps of all exercises with 45 pound weights, so I don't feel too bad about myself for using the bands thus far. Great workout though, although the dive bombers still whip my ass.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) Like the IPhone? You think that isn't the exact reason I wrote that last paragraph? Do you really think AT&T is going to subsidize a device whereby a large percentage of them do not utilize any type of contract with AT&T to operate? Additionally, at the iPhone launch, Jobs did not go on and on and on and their marketing did not revolve around the pricepoint.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) Yeah, but it's Butler. It's the Hoosiers story played out in real life. Sure it's not that extreme, but no casual fan knows anything about Butler. I dunno, upsets/special stories are what made the tournament what it is. As viewers we remember awesome performances and huge upsets. I think Butler winning it all would be nearly as memorable as a 16 beating a 1. I think the game would actually have lackluster ratings, and only lackluster because of Duke. If it turns out to be WV versus Butler, I think it will be one of the worst rated games in recent memory. As for Butler, I have to say, my heart goes out a bit to the slimy, sweaty, bug-eyed AJ Graves a bit....

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) Resistance exercises are 100% harder. Its not even close. You will love it. What kind of weight are you currently lifting in the curling exercises for Back & Biceps, for instance?

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) I've always respected Peter Gammons so it's no surprise, but I do enjoy and respect when national writers accurately encapsulate the reality of our team. It makes me trust their opinions on other teams and makes them a staple of my reading queue. As much s*** as Gammons' takes for his Red Sox love and Billy Beane worship, at least he knows his stuff, along with Ken Rosenthal. The quality of their pieces and the depth of their knowledge is far greater than the rest of the national media.
