QUOTE (MEANS @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 11:59 AM) 2 weeks in the books now, took the fit test for the second time yesterday, did much better on all 8 exercises. I didn't lose any weight this past week but the body fat went down another percentage point. MEANS, are you doing it every day? Or 6 days a week? How long is each workout?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Illinois would have had tied the most losses ever by a tourney team I believe if they made it. Obviously, you mean an at-large selection. -
QUOTE (vandy125 @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 10:29 AM) Got all of the equipment (building my own pullup bar). Just need to find a good place to get the DVDs. I'm seeing if I can find a deal on em somewhere. I'd be careful here. A lot of people who bought them through ebay or amazon vendors got only the DVDs (as opposed to the literature, which, while admittedly is not necessary, is helpful), and from what I have read, a LOT of those DVDs were low-quality or defective. I ordered straight from Beachbody.com, and paid $9 for a lifetime guarantee of the DVDs. There are certainly cheaper ways to obtain the program, but trust me, if you stick with it, it's going to be worth every penny you spend and far, far more.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) The man has never gotten a real chance. He was clipboard monkey his rookie year while other 1st rounders were getting their brains beat in. His second year he was on the Cleveland QB carousel, only got in 3 games, and never got a chance to take his lumps and learn. Last year he finally got in and got hurt, on a piss poor O-Line team he still managed more TDs than Ints. He's essentially a 4th year guy with maybe 3/4s of a season of NFL experience under his belt. Plus Denver's offense is a Patriots/Weis/ND offense that Quinn already knows and is comfortable with. I expect a good season from him if he wins the starting job over Orton. Yeah, I understand that reasonable minds can disagree. I should have prefaced my post with IMHO.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) Wow. That's a steal for McDaniels. Quinn can be a good QB, probably better than Orton. I'd rather have given up a 6th rounder and conditional pick for Quinn than what Cutler cost. Quinn is terrible and will never amount to anything.

Yuck. I took the under and OSU hits 11 straight field goals....man, this under looked golden at the 11 minute mark...
-
SLOW DOWN OSU, jeesh....under was looking really good, now, not so much anymore...

QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) Great job answering the mini-run by OSU here. Let's keep this up. Seems like the entire game has been mini-runs, honestly.

Took THE Ohio State -1.5 and under 69 in the 2nd...

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 09:29 AM) What about people like me that don't sync entire albums but individually selects only the tracks from an album that I most likely won't skip during random/shuffle play? How does that work with apple products? Well I am assuming you have them on your computer still. So when you get your device returned from iPad you will have the option to put those same individual tracks back on your device. I admit the battery thing is a major inconvenience, but I don't think it is the inconvenience AHB made it out to be initially. I had my iPhone die on me about 9 months ago and had to deal with this same process. It was not difficult whatsoever.
-
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 07:40 AM) Another reason the iPad sours me on Apple (and yes, I love apple): What happens if you need a new battery? No worries, just send in your iPad and they'll send you a "new" one. You only need to- "sync your iPad with iTunes to back up your contacts, calendars, email account settings, bookmarks, apps, etc." because "Apple is not responsible for the loss of information when servicing your iPad." Then when you get a new iPad all you have to do is resync all your information, movies, music, etc and reconfigure all your network settings. Simple as that! Honestly, it stinks that they are making devices that only they can access the battery in, but syncing your device takes like 2 minutes.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 05:09 PM) I got a new PC not too long ago, so I am not worried about something doing too much work. Basically I want something portable for radio appearances, both in the studio, and at sporting events. It has to be something that handles the internet with ease, as that will be its big job. Well, considering the whole purpose of netbooks is to access the internet, one would hope they would be able to handle that with ease. My very lame advice would be to check out the reviews on CNet for netbooks and pick out the best one that fits into your price range. CNet Reviews

Miracles can happen, Twinkies may consider trading Mauer

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) Isn't the Twins owner very wealthy (in MLB owner terms) and just doesn't spend as much on payroll...or am I thinking of someone else? Carl Pohlad was. He has since passed away. I am not certain if the team is still in his family or not. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 10:11 AM) That's Pippen who had that conversation with JR, not Jordan. Jordan signed a contract, never b****ed about it once. It may be the biggest bargain in sports history. I guess today marks the 25th anniversary of JR buying the Bulls for $16 million. Just a few million less than they paid Tim Thomas to go away twice. Since Jordan last wore a Bulls uniform, they are over 200 games below .500, yet have drawn more people than any other NBA team during that time. He's still making them money. I do think Jordan was advised against signing the 8/$25 million contract he signed, whether it was by his agent, or JR, I do not remember for certain. But you're right, he didn't complain publicly ever about it. As for JR "taking care" of Michael, it was Jordan's decision that he had enough money and to leave the game the two times that he did. Jordan could have continued playing after the 98' title run and made another $30 million, but he chose to walk away. And for a guy who played in the era he did, making $100 million-ish in career earnings is pretty impressive. Of course, he was also making, and continues even now to make $30-40 million a year in endorsements. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 10:19 AM) Had plyo friday yesterday, awesome. Nice! I did Core and strained something in my shoulder during those standing X-presses or whatever they are. Probably didn't help when I did those prison pushups right afterwards, but whatever. Hopefully it heals soon.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) I enjoy legs and back much more than last week because I've gotten most of the initial soreness out of my body. Last week I was majorly sore, and the workout was quite painful. Felt great this week, even busted out about 10 more pullups than last week Awesome buddy...you're getting hooked just like the rest of us! Did Core again today....felt awesome

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Maybe you thought it was superior back then, but it's certainly up for debate now, as they are plenty of competitors with products just as good, for a cheaper price, but just are not as popular. It's a complex combination of things, including the product, the support for the product, integration of the product into their overall family of products, advertising, etc. The reason people think an iPod and an mp3 player are different devices is because they have established their product name as the name of the actual device, because of their domination of the product line, much like Xerox and Kleenex have done with their respective products.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) Yes, it did catch on through advertising, definitely. I am not saying the iPods are not quality products, they are, but they are not worth what they cost. No, it really didn't. It caught on because it was an incredibly superior product. The first iPod was introduced on October of 2001. Do you think anyone cared about their ads in 2001?
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) Because they market the hell out of their products. How many other mp3 players do you ever see advertised? The Microsoft Zune is the only other one I have ever seen advertised, and not even CLOSE to the advertising apple does. You know they advertise a s***load when you hear people saying "iPods are the best, and mp3 players suck!" I just facepalm and punch them in the face for being so ignorant. Ask friends and family and I bet you 80% of them think an ipod and an mp3 player are two different things. Apple spends so much money is ads that people actually think an mp3 player is different from an ipod. I'm sorry, but I was one of the people who resisted the advertising for the very reasons you mention. Then I got tired of the crappy alternatives and was instantly shocked at how easy, reliable, and intuitive the iPod was. The advertising doesn't hurt, but the product is genuinely superior in almost every way. Apple was a nothing company before they created the iPod. Do you think it caught on through advertising?
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) I have not checked out their most recent prices on their mp3 players, but whenever I have been in the market to buy a new mp3 player, Apples are always priced higher than comparable items, and usually lack all the features of the other devices. Plus the whole iTunes mess that I can not stand. I just see no reason to buy an apple when there are many other brands offering similar products at better price and work just as well, if not better. And their whole mentality of thinking their are literally inventing and innovating everything is so annoying. I used to think this same way....and then I bought just one of their products. Why do you think they OWN the mp3 market if they don't make the best device?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) Any windows machine that connects to the internet is going to have an issue sooner or later, Mac's are absolutely great machines. I use my imac as a media server mostly, and it works so well because it doesnt get the crap on it that windows machines seem to and make me have to reinstall the OS. Yeah, I bought my first iPod about 6 years ago and have been using solely Apple products since then. First I bought the iBook, then I got an iMac desktop, then an iPhone. Plan on getting the 27" iMac within the next few years, hopefully if they come out with a machine that includes a blu-ray player. And just pre-ordered the 64 gig iPad, without 3G. Decided I did not need to be paying $40 for another data plan. Wifi signals are pretty easy to find these days, so I'll just deal with it. Got the 64 gig with the case for just under $800 shipped.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) Something like this seems to make more sense for what I'd want. More portable and kindle integration. I think your phone is always going to be the item you use to put in your pocket. Something like this is going to be something you tote around in a bag or carry around in an office setting or a home setting.
