QUOTE (The Gooch @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 11:16 PM) Did my first day today. Chest and back. I am DEAD. I am dreading the pain I will be in tomorrow. I was a little disappointed in the amount of pullups I could do, especially on the 2nd round. Didn't even make it into ab ripper at the end, hopefully i will be able to get there next week. Congrats, my friend! Stick with it! You'll be sore all week, so get used to it! Plyo today is going to damn-near kill you. Don't panic if you can't finish or if you have to pause it multiple times. But just make sure you do your absolute best! Good work!
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 10:54 PM) He has a problem with alcohol and he checked himself into a three month rehab stint and you don't see it? Nevermind, I am walking away early. Mike, he said he has a problem with alcohol. He checked himself into a rehab facility. You honestly believe that makes him an alcoholic? By default? I dunno, I know the term is used really loosely now in clinical circles, but if that is the definition that applies, then this country is absolutely overrun by alcoholics. And this nation was built by alcoholics. And is currently run by alcoholics.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) He branded himself an alcoholic six weeks ago. http://www.blessyouboys.com/2010/1/21/1264...s-about-alcohol I'm sorry, I am not seeing that statement.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Every post I read from Mark, I agree 100% with, which is unusual. That's only because you have a bottle of Jack underneath your bed, you alcoholic...
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 11:07 PM) Olive garden huh? If she orders Alfredo, run!!! Its too bad you dont have an apt, cooking for her while you both drink would be a hell of a good time. Mexican fiesta night aka sloppy sex night was always successful for me. Did somebody say FIESTA????? Rock, you make me laugh, my friend.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) I am pretty sure it has been more than once that has been reported. We have no idea what else has happened. And yet you brand him an alcoholic. The guy has not had a drink in 4.5 months. I think that is something to applaud him for.
  7. I'm sorry guys, but we don't have NEARLY enough information about Miguel Cabrera's drinking habits to anoint him as an alcoholic. We know of one story where the guy was out boozing a bit later than he should have been before an important game. That may simply be an error in judgment, not a symptom of a disease. Yes, he also had an altercation with his wife, which is certainly not acceptable either. But I know a lot of guys who have gone out and had a few too many and then come home and argued with their wives. That makes them idiots, but not necessarily alcoholics. A lot of baseball players, especially latin or south american ballplayers, have not grown up in the best of situations and so they don't always know how to handle the money, fame, women, success that comes with their talents. Do they f*** up sometimes once they are put in that situation? Yes. Do they abuse their sudden popularity and wealth sometimes? Yes. Do they maybe think they are invincible because they have so much talent that they are able to do things most normal people would die to be able to do? Yes. So they are immediately branded an alcoholic once they do something stupid and alcohol is involved? I'm sorry, I am just not so quick to judge. I'd love to see the collection of alcoholics we have among us here, if that criteria is so easily fulfilled.
  8. QUOTE (The Beast @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) I'm not, I'm working on a marketing project. However, I was just going to go ahead and post in this thread because I'm about to execute a plan around this time tomorrow night. With what transpired over the weekend and the amount of texting back and forth that has been going on, I'm going to ask her out tomorrow night. She mentioned that red wine is her weakness and that she would like to hang out this weekend. So, I'm going to ask if she wanted to meet up for dinner at Olive Garden and watch some How I Met Your Mother episodes afterwards. The nice thing is that I now have a single room and have a lot of space to sit and watch episodes on my desktop computer. (I'm also open to watching it at her place.) So, is there anything that I should or shouldn't do? I'll see her tomorrow night at the Brazilian martial arts club. Ross man, you write a book, my friend. You would be incredibly successful.

Does anyone feel like the two-twitch speed pushups are almost impossible to do in the order they are inserted in the CST workout? I swear, all three times I have tried to do them after the preceding exercises, I damn near fall flat on my face... Brutal.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 06:50 PM) “I don’t know how to explain, but it’s not an alcohol problem.” The Tigers outed him after Dombrowski had to bail him out of jail. He never quit of his own volition. He needs AA at least. ? No one forced him to stop drinking. He did quit of his own volition. He hasn't had a drink in 4.5 months. What do you want him to do? AA is not for everyone. He quit drinking. Isn't that that end that AA is the means for?
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-t...p&type=lgns This is not good. The first step towards sobriety is admitting that you have a problem. Well he did admit it was becoming a problem and stopped drinking. I think maybe he is just uncomfortable with being termed an "alcoholic."
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 06:23 PM) Ah s***, the World Cup is another issue. I root for Germany in that as well, but once again, not against the US. Nein, Nein, Nein, Nein!

    Looking for Help

I would read through the other threads in this forum and take what you can from them that you can fit into your life and try and customize some exercises and diet tips to what you consider to be manageable.
  15. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) Well if you find her attractive and like her personality its fine as long as your willing to put off sex for a couple of years. Its only a 4 year gap which really isnt all that much, would be like dating a freshmen if you were a senior. Actually, from the way Florida law reads, it appears with her consent they can have all the sex they want.
  16. In Florida, women at the age of 16 or higher can consent to sexual relations with men between the ages of 16-24. 794.05 Unlawful sexual activity with certain minors.-- (1) A person 24 years of age or older who engages in sexual activity with a person 16 or 17 years of age commits a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. As used in this section, "sexual activity" means oral, anal, or vaginal penetration by, or union with, the sexual organ of another; however, sexual activity does not include an act done for a bona fide medical purpose.
  17. While I am not saying I would have advised him to sign this contract if I were his agent, keep in mind that he did sign it after playing all of about 15 games in his big league career.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) wooo boy. alright starting phase III of round 2, and I just bought m'self some GNC Mass XXX. Basically 1000 calories at a time in shake-form, including 66 grams of Protein. Basically I figured that since i was having problems reaching 3000 cal. consistently, now if I eat the same as i have been and just do one of these every day, I should gain weight no problem. Wow! Keep us posted, Reddy. That must be one mean shake...
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 08:16 AM) If its about convenience, then yeah, you guys are done I don't think it is about convenience; she has a line a mile long of dudes that would love to date her. I guess what I was saying was that I treated her so well that I think she took me for granted at times, and will just now realize the depth of just how much I do for her. That will probably lead her back to me. I dunno; it is a complex situation. I'm not really even sure she should be dating right now to be honest. Thanks for the advice though.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 06:37 AM) Sometimes a break is good. Even a forced break. Yeah, we'll see. It's going to be very difficult because we were very good friends before we started dating, and we sort of depend on one another because of our individual situations. I think she's going to realize just how much I make her life proceed more smoothly, but that, in and of itself, is not reason enough for this to resume.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 07:17 AM) So the broken down car situation was just the start huh? I don't know...I actually thought the car situation was helping things in a weird way, because I was picking her up every day and we seemed to be getting along better than ever as a result of actually being around eachother more and dealing with an adverse situation. I know her kids were happy to get to see me a couple extra times during the week too. Saturday night we went out for dinner, and I was just put in an absolutely impossible situation, and it ruined our evening. Then Sunday there was just more bad news about her vehicle, and as much as I understand she is under stress because of it, I realized I just can't be treated poorly because she happens to have a stressful life. We had a long talk and it just sort of confirmed some of the things I thought were happening. I don't know how I am going to do it, but I think I've just got to let her go for a while. Sucks, but I just think I'm supposed to be happier if I am with someone I really care about this much...
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) Yeah I know. It just sucks right now. Well, if it makes you feel any better Blake, we are in the same boat now. Just broke up with my girlfriend as well...
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) It sucks that Ames is about 80% guys. Why? You like a challenge, don't you?
  24. QUOTE (T R U @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) I only like Canadas hockey team, and that's the only Canadians I cheered for in the Olympics.. I feel like you think I don't cheer for the US at all, just Canada.. which is not how it is.. Yeah, well, I still think you're weird. You cheered against the US in the most mainstream Winter Games sport. Weird. NOT bad; weird.
  25. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) So just because someone lives in the US, they can't root for anyone else? Hey man, you do what you want. I never said you can't root for anyone else (unless you are in a bar, in which case I think you are asking for a fight). I said it was weird to not cheer for the US. I am Irish and German and a little Polish even. Do I cheer for Germany? No. I cheer for the US, the country I live in. Do I like to see Germany win a few medals here and there? Sure. You guys can cheer for whomever the heck you want. I just happen to think it's strange to be a citizen of this kick ass nation and not cheer for them in the Olympics.
