QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 7, 2017 -> 07:31 AM) The gamepad? or the pro controller? I really like the pro controller, when I play Xenoblade Chronicles that is what i use because the wiiU pad is annoying much in the same way as you just described Yeah the gamepad. I read a tip on Kotaku that you can switch the b and x buttons and it's better. I might try that.

I'm only 3-4 hours in, basically got off the grand plateau and then stopped, but so far so good. One major complaint - the Wii U controller. Something about the a/b/x/y set up that is incredibly frustrating. I constantly jump instead of hit with my weapon. Hopefully at some point I get that down.

My favorite response to the nonsensical Trump claim:

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Mar 3, 2017 -> 10:03 AM) No. I'm ~90% done with it and I haven't seen a single thing related to the other games* yet. It's still survival horror, but gets away from zombies, Umbrella Corporation, etc. *RE1-4. I didn't play 5-6. 4 was in my greatest games ever list. And then 5 was so s***ty I couldn't muster up the energy to play 6. I hear 7 is pretty solid.

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Mar 3, 2017 -> 09:39 AM) I'm looking for game suggestions for PS4. Horizon Zero Dawn looks awesome, but it seems like the type of game that would require too many hours for me to ever complete, plus my gaming time is limited as I have a toddler. I just beat Uncharted 4 last night, and preferably looking for games similar to that. What does Soxtalk recommend?? If you didn't play Last of Us for ps3, get it for ps4.

Would be fun to play it this weekend. Thanks, Amazon.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) I'm not fine with Groce staying even if they make the tourney but that is at least defensible. If they miss the tourney I'm done with Illinois basketball for a long time if Groce is brought back and the athletic department will have one less donor. I would prefer they move on, but it really has to depend on who else is looking for a coach. If Indiana fires Crean, as much as I hate to say it, we would play second fiddle to them. We have better short term prospects because of incoming recruits, but they have the better tradition/banners. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 09:40 AM) At this point I would probably be fine with either decision. Whitman seems to like Groce though and I don't think he'd fire him "no matter what" unless he had a big hire lined up (ala Lovie). Yeah there are too many photos of them hugging each other after the last 2 games. No chance that's a guy that you've already decided to fire, or even want to fire. They're back into the bubble conversation. They have a legit shot at making the tourney. Unless they totally screw that up against Rutgers, I think even a loss with a decent showing in the tourney gets them in. They're a completely different team from 2 months ago. They're playing well. The committee looks at that stuff. -
So, does Zelda come out tomorrow? I pre-ordered it on Amazon but it's telling me I won't get it until next Tuesday. Anyone else pre-order it? I'm pretty excited. The reviews are all super positive. 10/10 on IGN. Sounds like everything I hated about past games (closed off world, repetitive structure) has been fixed. I hope the Wii U version is as good as the switch version.

Wow, big win. They've pulled me back in. Win at Rutgers and put up a decent showing in the 1st big ten tourney game and i think they're in. No bad losses, 6 wins against the top 50. Much better resume than the other bubble teams. I think that win probably got Groce another year too. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 1, 2017 -> 08:32 PM) Groce turned his back on the refs to face the crowd and still got T'd. Impressive. I know this isn't a typical MSU team, and they've gone on a run beating some bad big ten teams, but wtf. Where was this energy level the last 5 months? -

So much for home cooking for illinois. 7-0 foul disparity. MSU travels and Groce furious with no call and gets T'd up. #BigTenOfficiating -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 1, 2017 -> 06:50 AM) This week I'm recovering from having about 4.5 inches wide and an inch high removed from my front right side, because I have melanoma (skin cancer). More fun! Stage 1- means it's beyond the first layer of the skin but not into the organs. Ok, that IS actually fun news. They're also removing my left earlobe. WHEEE. I'm going to utilize my wife's fancy health insurance and see a plastic surgeon. I already started behind the 8 ball handsomeness-wise, so removing an earlobe ain't gonna help. Anyway, fingers crossed they got the margins necessary with Monday's surgery. The moral of the story? This was caught during a routine skin exam with a dermatologist. I have fair skin and red hair so RED ALERT, but if you have the means, go ahead and schedule one as it could save your life. Good luck man. The key is catching it early. My mom is a melanoma survivor going on 20 years even though it got to her lymph nodes.

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 1, 2017 -> 09:46 AM) This 529 stuff makes me so anxious. Literally every day I read one article saying its a great idea then the next its "instead put it in a more general fund that you can use for cross purposes". We looked into it a few years ago and I didn't want our money tied up in case we needed it for something else. There was also something about it negatively affecting financial aid and educational tax credits. I can't remember the specifics though.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2017 -> 01:49 PM) And it is still meaningless, especially because GS is doing the exact same thing. 1) Barkley did call out Durant for going to the Warriors; 2) It's not the same. No one on the Warriors is b****ing about the team not doing enough. Barkley called out Lebron for whining despite the fact that he already has a good roster full of all-stars and a GM who has spent tons of money for players HE demanded, like Thompson and Smith.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2017 -> 01:24 PM) lol, irrelevant. Completely irrelevant. That has nothing to do with on the court stuff and team make up. That is all about Barkley trying to make money on LeBron's name and LeBron finally getting sick of it. You lost me there. Barkley works as a commentator on an NBA pre-game show. It's his job to say stuff. He doesn't make more when he criticizes guys (rightly, in this case).

That Oscar screw up was amazing.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2017 -> 03:47 PM) It will catch up to him. When you try and put something in a box, it just makes more people wonder whats in the box.

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:32 PM) If we don't trust the Bulls to draft, why do we trust them to surround Butler with talent? I think it's easier to gauge NBA talent than college talent. They've shown they can evaluate secondary players in the NBA given that they USUALLY have good bench players. I mean, yeah, they've been terrible when it comes to signing big names, but hopefully Wade and Butler can persuade someone. I'd love to see the Clippers implode and Blake become available. I think the odds of that are better than the odds of some lottery picks working out.
-
QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:22 PM) Yep, because it's guaranteed to fail again (leaving aside the difference between drafting kids right out of high school and when they have to spend a year in college). Butler's closest title winning comp in our lifetime is probably Paul Pierce? So first, is Butler as loyal as Pierce was where he will go through years of mediocrity and stay in Chicago? And second, where are the Bulls getting Garnett and Allen (not to mention Rondo) from? It's the Bulls man, that's the problem. It absolutely could, and probably, will happen again.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:17 PM) The problem is that either way they are depending on luck. If they keep Butler they need to get lucky and hit on a FA or guy later in the draft. If they trade Butler than they have to hit on a player who is at least as good as Butler. Hey, I totally agree. It's a gamble. But IMO the odds are better building around him. And shoot, give it another season and if you fail getting any decent FA, trade him next year. You'd still get a good haul for him.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:15 PM) Not one person has guaranteed anything about those picks. I have guaranteed this team isn't winning a damn thing the next few years with Jimmy here though. You're delusional(to use your term) if you think this team is going to be a contender with Jimmy these next 3 years. And you're absolutely delusional if you think Jimmy is a superstar on the same level of guys who lead their teams to championships like you keep insinuating. Dude is a great player but he's not leading this team to a championship. That's such a myth. No one does that, not even Lebron, the best player on the planet.
-
It's cool, maybe we can turn back the clock and go this route again! 2001-2005, the golden years!
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:05 PM) You guys are delusional if you think 2 top 5 picks is some kind of guarantee. Next year's draft is supposed to be pretty good, but what about 2018? What if you get stuck choosing between Anthony Bennett and Victor Oladipo? If it's 2 picks plus Brown and some scrap, I would consider that. Just picks? Hellllllllllllll no.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) Are you still going to be arguing this same position at this time next year or the year after? Because we're going to be in virtually the same position. You can argue your trade values all you want but holding onto Jimmy just because you have a perceived value on him that nobody can reach is the way to keep the Bulls where they are. Nobody is guaranteeing anything with these picks(though a lot of us certainly love some of these players) but eventually you have to take a chance because I do guarantee you they wont be a championship contender with Jimmy in his 'prime' here. Newsflash: no team is contending while Lebron still walks and the Warriors still rain threes. The ONLY chance the Bulls have to compete for a Finals spot is to build around their superstar, not build from scratch through the draft. I again ask how has Denver, Minnesota, Sacramento, Philly, etc done after obtaining big hauls for superstars or retaining good draft picks and assets? Shoot, even Boston now. They're not winning anything because they don't have a superstar.
