QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 26, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) Lebron worked all off season so he can basically play entire games during the playoffs, how is that not working hard? Lebron worked all offseason on promoting himself and decorating his Miami mansion. It's been a common theme among everyone around him that he's not 100% about winning like a Kobe or Jordan.

Arizona requires you to carry your papers
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:07 PM) Yeah but there's some huge jurisdictional issues here. Mainly, it's not the State's jurisdiction. I haven't read the opinion, but the quote from Roberts in the article doesn't really address the problem. Sure, maybe it's inline with Federal laws right now, but it could be very quickly out of line if they changed the law and it'd take some amount of time before AZ could modify and be back in line. If you're going to force states to assure an employee's legal status (or at least force them to make a good faith effort), then I don't see why they shouldn't be able to require their businesses to use the E-verify system in furtherance of that obligation.

Lol, the call on korver (late and called by the official on the other end of the court, not the guy 2 ft from the action) and then lebron throws his body into a guy and gets the call.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 24, 2011 -> 12:43 PM) Let's not give any credit to the team with the 2nd best FG% against during the regular season. No doubt that's a part of it. But go watch the 1st quarter of game 2. The bulls missed about 8 wide open shots. That game should have been over in the first half. Instead, Miami stuck around and won it in the final minutes.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 24, 2011 -> 12:25 PM) I will stop paying attention to your analysis since you thought the Heat were a better matchup for us than the Pacers. I never doubted the talent, but the ISO offense they ran fit right into the Bulls' hands - see Game 1. And if the Bulls could shoot better they'd be up 2-1 right now, if not 3-0.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 24, 2011 -> 09:45 AM) I really don't know why but I got a good feeling about tonight's game. I do to for some reason. Mainly because I don't think the Bulls could shoot much worse than the last two games. I think they're due for a good shooting night. Rose basically came out and said he thinks they're going to scrap the pick and roll so he's not double teamed all night. Hopefully we'll see beastmode Rose. My fear with that is if he continues shooting 30 something percent. If he's on, prepare for a 40 pt night. If he's off, it could be a quick game that Miami leads by double digits most of the way.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) And that on shorter rest, the smaller number of guys in their rotation might cause them be more fatigued in the next game. Wade is the biggest victim with fatigue. At times he looks downright beat. I think the Celtics series took a lot out of him. Take away the 3-4 bailout calls he gets a game and he's been pretty ineffective all series.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) So LinkedIn has 40 times the growth potential as Apple? I don't buy that for a second. Right, which is why I said I don't think he meant it that way. But to say that "value" is ONLY based on known factors today, like revenue, isn't really accurate.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 23, 2011 -> 10:16 AM) Not at all. My reaction isn't based on what I "think" a company should be worth...it's based on what the company is actually worth. The nice thing about public companies is their books are open in the legal sense of the word, so unless they're cheating, we know how much money they're making. Knowing that, and the number of shares outstanding, we can easily compute what a share is worth based on how much money they generate. If you are generating BILLIONS in profit, your valuation is probably high, unless you have 10's of billions of shares outstanding, which most companies do not. LinkedIn cleared 15 Million dollars in profit last year, and has already said they expect to LOSE money in 2011. That does not = a high value. I don't think you mean this as literally as you seem to, but this is kind of a ridiculous statement. Potential growth doesn't have value? "Value" is a completely fabricated construct anyway.

So, regarding the Noah incident, I think it's a bunch of bulls*** honestly. I don't approve of what he said, but at the same time it's a bit unfair for something like that to happen and the NBA to OK (if not mandate) the videotaping of guys in that situation. Noah gets heated on the court, comes to the bench, someone says something and the camera is on him the whole time. If the NBA was really worried about its' role models saying bad things, guess what, stop filming them in that situation.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 23, 2011 -> 07:47 AM) It's CLEARLY .com 2.0. Anyone that says LinkedIn is a good investment at this valuation knows nothing about investing. LinkedIn makes ~15M per YEAR profit. Not per quarter. Not per month. Per YEAR. That pegs their current stock price at about a 600 P/E ratio. For comparison sake, Apples P/E ratio 15. That means people are only willing to pay 15 times what Apple makes per share...and this is a company that makes more profit in a single DAY than LinkedIn makes in an entire year. At the same time, people are saying they're willing to pay SIX HUNDRED times earnings for a social network with almost no revenue stream that will be an afterthought when Facebook goes public? This run up is speculation and day traders, not investment. They're hopes are that people run LinkedIn's price into the 200 range so they can dump it all, trying to not repeat the same mistake they made in the .com 1 bubble, where instead of dumping it all, they held it thinking it would go even higher...only it crashed instead. The market hasn't changed...companies are worth what they're worth, and the tried and true calculation of what they're worth ALWAYS ends up being the real value in the end. Bottom line, LinkedIn isn't worth half of it's current price, no, scratch that, it's not worth 15% of it's current price...so if you got in the IPO and made a profit, just get out while you can. I don't know if it's overvalued or not, but LinkedIn has a very strong chance of becoming essentially Facebook for business, a market that Facebook will never be able to capture and a market that has no other competitors. 5 years ago if Facebook had gone public with a high price like this I'm sure your reaction would have been the same.

Glass half-full: The Bulls are so far away yet so close. It's one win and we're back to an even series with a slight home advantage. Miami looked dead in the water after game 1 yet the found a way to win game 2. I feel the same coming out of game 3 with the roles reversed. Game 2 was available for the taking, the Bulls just couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. I thought the Heat played one of their more complete games and the Bulls played one of their worst. Still, they had a chance to win it with a few minutes left in the game. I still think they can improve their defense, and if someone (Rose, Deng, Noah...) could make some shots, and if the Bulls can make an extended run (when's the last 10-0, 12-2 type run?), I think that's when Miami starts to panic and they go into that ISO offense that fits into the Bulls' defensive scheme. Glass half-empty: The problem with the above is the Bulls have been outplayed for two straight games now. Their strengths - defense and depth - simply don't matter for whatever reason. I think the depth would mean more if they had played this series every other day like normal, but the extra 2 days of rest have really helped the shorter rotation of the Heat. The Heat are so long and athletic with their help defense, Rose can't finish around the rim like he normally does. And the Heat have figured out how to rebound better because there haven't been many 2nd chance opportunities. Game 4 is obviously huge. Win, I think they come back to Chicago with some momentum and I feel a lot better about their chances. Lose, and it's over. Maybe in 5. Here's to hoping that Stern calls the officiating crew and reminds them that this series is their major money maker and 7 games would be great.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 22, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) Correct. You let Chris Bosh beat you instead of those two 10/10 times. He got hot, it happens he's a good player. He just as easily can get cold as well. Though I will say you can not give LeBron that much court vision. He is just too good of a passer. This thinking is dumb IMO. Maybe that's your strategy going into the game, but not after Bosh hits 11/13 jump shots. I'd rather force Lebron into contested fadeaway 20 footers than watch Bosh drain 15 footers all day.
