  1. I'm a 39 year-old black man...and you guys are right. I'm a minority in the real world...but the ratio here is quite disheartening. Of course, that's through no fault of anyone here. I'm a member of 5 different forums, either sports or political related, and this ratio holds true to the other forums as well. One of those forums, I'm the only black member.
  2. Yeah...he's the best GM in baseball, yet how many WS titles does he have? Oh yeah...none.
  3. I've never been to a strip club in Illinois. Now Las Vegas...wow! If you go, try the OG (Olympic Gardens).
  4. I'd say flowers and a nice dinner. Flowers are never overrated. But don't get roses. Try carnations. Just my 2 cents.

    Brokeback Joker?

    QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:55 AM) I really, really wish they had gone for a story that HASN'T already been done in the Batman franchise. Doing a Joker movie means competing with the original Batman film, and that's just plain stupid. Better to go with a villain not already done. Agreed. I think the Mad Hatter would've been a great follow-up to Scarecrow.

    Brokeback Joker?

    My first immpression on this news was...damn! Why why why why why him? But then, I didn't think Michael Keaton could pull off playing Batman, so I'll reserve judgment. However, I am not optimistic.
  7. I may be an idiot for asking this (my wife would agree that i'm an idiot), but is McDougall healthy this year?
  8. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:52 PM) Ah...but it would be 'Hot Sox fan runs on field naked'...instead of 'ugly Cub fan' Anyway, I'm down with Soriano...hoping B-Mac is somehow not part of it. His bat at the top of the order would be great. If that's the case, then with Pods in center and Soriano in left, so much for pitching and defense winning championships.
  9. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) Soriano and Uribe for A-Rod?????????? Now this is a trade I could get behind.
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Then there should be a window to sign a long term deal then with Soriano. Soriano is a hell of a player and is young, and can play at a high level for a long time. But Bmac for a 2 month rental is a bit high. Prospects I could care less about, bmac actually showed that he could play in the majors. What makes anyone think Soriano would want to ink a longterm deal with the Sox? My guess is he'd much rather be in New York, and I'm betting Steinbrenner would pay a hell of a lot more for his services than Reinsdorf. That's one reason this would be a terrible move, getting rid of a future top-notch starter for a two month rental. Kenny, don't do it!
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) Or a prelude to a blockbuster. If this is the end of a deal someone should request KDub pee in a cup. It's funny...both ESPN and CBS Sportsline are saying he's close to being on the Sox, yet CNNSI.com says Bowden's asking price is to high (Lance Broadway and Josh Fields) and that he's a longshot to end up in Chicago. . ::Sigh:: Who to believe? I want to believe SI.com.
  12. Jeez Kenny. You've made some great moves the last couple of years. But if true, this one I just don't get. Soriano is not a leadoff hitter. And Pods is not a centerfielder. Please let this all be a rumor...
  13. Yeah...becasue if he was in power, Hezbollah wouldn't have captured those two Israeli soldiers and started lobbing missles, and Israel would've have retaliated by blowing the crap out of Lebanon. He acts as if tensions all of a sudden arose becasue Bush wasn't babysitting. He sure has a high opinion of himself. Granted, I'm no fan of the current administration, but GMAFB. Kerry being in office would've made no difference.
  14. I'm thinking we need to worry more about the Sox winning than the Tigers losing. Just my .02.
  15. Long time lurker, first time poster. I have mixed feelings about this whole situation. The organization wasn't the one to spill the beans about the reasons for Widger's departure: that was on him. But I find it odd that they tell Chris this, and later KW says how the coaches have been begging him to get Sandy Alomar back, and lo and behold, here he is. A little too coincidental in my book. They should've just told Widger "we're going in another direction. Thanks for what you have done the last two years." Instead, they basically tell him his work ethic sucked. It just all seems a little fishy and underhanded to me.
