  1. I wouldn’t trade Crochet for Colson Montgomery straight up either
  2. Technically, no, he’s no longer a prospect. I don’t care if he’s a SS on a historically bad White Sox team. It doesn’t mean he will be any good there.
  3. #1 he’s no longer a prospect, #2 he hit a .566 OPS in MLB this season, #3 yes I know he’s young but so are Jackson Chourio and Jackson Merrill and they hit well, #4 he doesn’t play a premium defensive position
  4. Well, Holliday is no longer the #1 prospect so not sure why it matters but, yes, Moncada + Kopech + Basabe + Diaz for Sale is the closest comp I guess. Sale had more value than Crochet has now but the return was also much more valuable than Holliday alone.
  5. lol, you’re so dramatic. Cristian Mena isn’t even a T10 prospect in a below average Dbacks system and he ended the season injured.
  6. There’s no question Robert’s stock is down since last offseason. So is Holliday’s and Mayo’s. Holliday still has more value than Robert but I wouldn’t trade Crochet for him straight up.
  7. It’s not silly at all and the orioles would be idiots to laugh at it…
  8. Robert yes, Crochet no Edit: Sox should even be willing to throw in $15M if a Robert for Holliday trade is then on the table if Orioles are concerned about the cost of the options years
  9. Yup. Now that dude is worthy of the #1 overall prospect rating if he can hit. He’s impressive all around. Anyways, I think it would be foolish to trade Crochet straight up for any single prospect, especially Jackson Holliday. At this point, I’d be looking for a volume deal of something like Crawford, Caba, Saltiban, and DeMartini from the Phillies. The top end of the Sox farm looks good but still need to build depth particularly with so many holes on the MLB roster.
  10. He’s overrated because unless he carries a .928 OPS into mlb no second basemen should be the #1 overall prospect in mlb. I don’t care what position he played in high school or minor leagues, he doesn’t have the arm strength to play SS. His arm is barely good enough to play 2b in mlb. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/jackson-holliday-702616?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
  11. Star SS? Seriously, what are you talking about? Dude is barely a serviceable 2b defensively. Good lord, Holliday is an even more overrated 2b prospect than Yoan Moncada was.
  12. Correct and I know he’s young but there’s already a ton of limitations in his game from what I’ve seen. Will he even turn out better than Yoan Moncada? I don’t know.
  13. They won’t have to worry about that next season if they don’t make a number of good moves this offseason because they won’t even make the playoffs
  14. No, this is an awful deal for the Sox
  15. My god, this would be an awful trade for the sox
  16. Nicky Ortiz still sucks
  17. That was truly shocking to see so many open seats at a playoff game. And it wasn’t even one of those weird super early starts either. What’s wrong with Orioles fans??
  18. Let me put it another way. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Orioles won 81 games in 2025 like our 2022 White Sox.
  19. I don’t buy the way too much talent argument. In fact, they’re looking an awful lot like the 2021 White Sox and at a major crossroads in their rebuild. For all the hype about a guy like Coby Mayo, boy, was he atrocious. small sample size but a 47.8% strikeout rate in 46 PAs is a major red flag.
  20. Their window has already closed whether their fans realize it or not. They aren’t winning s%*# with this current core.
  21. For all the nut hugging of Elias last winter, his teams have 0 playoff wins to Hahn’s 2 with the Sox. Just sayin’
  22. Meh. I didn’t think the Orioles were any good personally.
  23. The worst part (for him) is his strategy of only drafting position players was their biggest weakness in this series, scoring just 1 run in 2 games.
  24. Exactly right. It’s funny how people on this site and around mlb continually knock the AL Central and yet the AL East has been the most overrated division in the league for a decade. Still, I didn’t expect the tigers to sweep the Astros even though they were one of the hottest teams coming into the playoffs.
