  1. I refuse to go to games at Wrigley Field. Nothing but drunken idiots to be honest. They rather get piss drunk and talk s*** to fans of the other team rather then watch a baseball game. Do you ever see that happen at the Cell? Rarely. Even with Cub fans there. What I hate the most is when Cub fans go to a Sox game and do nothing but talk s***.

now this little thing is going to turn into a media frenzy... I could see the Headlines tomorrow in the sports section: "White Sox manager supporter of the KKK, swears at a white radio host"
  3. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 18, 2007 -> 05:15 PM) Yet, you suggest he puts in Thornton, who hasn't been much better than MacDougal this season. Is that putting us in the best position to win? are you kidding me? Sure Thornton has a shakey beginning to the year, but so do a lot of players. Thornton has gotten his velocity back up to 96-97 and has got a good slider going for him. He right now is our best reliever IMO (not counting Jenks).
  4. QUOTE(greg775 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:49 PM) We need to ship Mac and Sisco back to the Royals where they belong. Mac D cost us the game today pure and simple. calm down now... lets not get into trading away two relievers with good stuff right away...
  5. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) Let's hope it's only for one game. The only positive of him out in the field would be that he plays good D, since no one we have who can play 3rd would hit any way.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:54 PM) I'm all for calling up Fields now to see if he can provide a spark against LHP. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:31 PM) How soon until the Fields project? We need a thirdbaseman who can hit and field. Right now, we have one that can't do either in Ozuna, and one who can only field in Crede. Something has to be done.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) We've been giving Mackowiak, Ozuna and whoever we play at LF/DH an awful lot of atbats, none of who should start for any team. Well, if Konerko and Crede were hitting, we could handle having Mack or Ozuna out there.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) Does it bother you when our mediocre players have been winning? Well, our offense is hardly full of mediocre plays, but good players just sucking, and that bothers me a ton. And our pitching isn't mediocre, as I have always thought Vazquez, Garland, and Buehrle were all still good pitchers. I was surprised by Jose doing good, and I expected Danks to do good but not this good. It pisses me off that a pitcher with the stuff MacDougal has sucks and chokes. I have been pleasantly surprised by Aardsma, and Sisco has been good. A very big difference if you ask me.
  9. Am I the only one who wants to break Pagan's knee caps? I get so pissed when mediocre players, AT BEST, own this team.
  10. I'm just wondering how Greg Walker still has a job.
  11. Listen, I am not dissing the list at all, or it's integrity, as there was and has been a lot of hard work done. I have no problem with it. I am just saying it seems a bit rushed to me because of your guys busy lives, thats all. Sorry if I offended anyone.
  12. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) The problem is that Fields is an "average" fielder at best (for now), and will strike out at least 33% of the time. If you bench Crede, you devalue anything he will bring in return. It's fine to bring Fields up in September, or try him as the DH, but Thome is about to come back. We can't have both corner infielders not hitting for much longer. If Crede isn't hitting by June, you need to dump him somewhere. At least Dye is starting to hit, and Thome is going to come back soon. Thome was an offensive force before he got injured.
  13. QUOTE(29thandPoplar @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) A left handed throwing catcher? Are you sure it's Mackowiak? I watched some workouts in late Feb. in Tucson and Ozuna was tinkering with warming up pitchers which led me to believe he's the emergency 3rd guy. There is a difference between hitting left handed and throwing left handed. Mack bats lefty, but he throws righty. That's why he plays 3B and 2B to go along with the OF.
  14. How soon until the Fields project? We need a thirdbaseman who can hit and field. Right now, we have one that can't do either in Ozuna, and one who can only field in Crede. Something has to be done.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) and steroids or an aluminum bat You can't be any more wrong here. Ryan Sweeney has quick hands and can turn on the ball at any time. He just needs a good hitting coach to give him good advice. Sweeney isn't gonna be hitting any inside pitchs with that new stance he has.
  16. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) What if we need Aardsma tomorrow...when we're ahead? If you now consider Aardsma and Thornton the two primary set-up men for the games we're winning, then I suppose it makes some sense. What are the odds of our offense scoring a run against a guy who has converted 89% of his save opportunities, yesterday notwithstanding? The Mets have one of the best offenses in baseball, we are the worst, pretty much. Did you see the lineup the Mets had out there yesterday? http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/wrap.jsp?...p&team=away
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) Well, s***, we're going to lose upwards of 70 games this year. This loss has no effect on anyone else on the AL, giving them a better record. These games are of the least consequence. I'd really like to see us sport a real LF though. Terrero and Sweeney aren't doing it for me. It'd be super if Brian could figure it out and become a member of our OF again. I still think Ryan needs another year in AAA. The only thing Sweeney needs is a real hitting coach.
  18. QUOTE(TheHolyBovine @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Well, Hall isn't a good hitter. Look at his career numbers, and you'll draw the same conclusion. Don't blame Walker when Hall shows that he isn't Jorge Posada. Look at his career numbers vs. lefties. You will see a big difference.
  19. QUOTE(G&T @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) Funny thing about Sweeney's stance is that about a week ago, Hawk said that they were working with him to make him more agressive because he was taking a lot of first pitch fastballs. Since then, he has tanked. This is terrible. This team is going to ruin such a good talent like Sweeney. Yep, upright stances are the key to driving the ball and hitting homeruns. It might work for some people, but you need some bend in those knees, especially young players who crowd the plate. Like Anderson and Sweeney. F*&^ a hitting coach, just let them hit and be them selves up there. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) His throw to second base was atrocious. Hall simply can't windup the ball. Baseruners in the future will run all over him. It doesn't matter. The game was over before that throw. We just have to hope from this point on, his arm will get stronger.
  20. QUOTE(TheOcho @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) Yea your first gamethread win is really important. Yep... I am banning myself from making a gamthread for the rest of the year now. 0-2 now.
  21. We are lucky the game was as close as it actually was. The Cubs left 18, count them, 18 runner on base. The Sox only left 8, but thats because they suck ass and not only cant drive runs in, but even get on base.
  22. This should have been my first gamethread win... Did the whole team just freaking give up when Buehrle left the game? 3 E's and a passed ball in that span of 2 innings...
  23. Also, Toby did his job today. Went 2-3 and scored a run. It isn't his fault that MacDougal sucks ass.
  24. Buehrle was at 110 pitches. I personally would have let him pitch, but I could see why you would put some else in. But that someone else should have been either Thornton or Aardsma.
  25. MacDougal is complete garbage. Aardsma has to be named as the official right handed set up. Also, how about putting Thornton in there once in a while. He might be a lefty, but he can get righties out just as easily or even easier then he can get lefties. Boone looked good at least. And what is with that stupid ass upright stance Sweeney has now? Is Greg Walker trying to give him the same stance as Anderson now?
