It wouldn't surprise me to see Gonzalez called up... all teams need 5 reserve infielders! Bring up Sweeney and let him start in LF.

Vazquez has been unreal... how good does that trade look now, especially that Cotts has been sent down?

QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 27, 2007 -> 11:40 AM) Good to see Paulie back. Personally I'd like to see Terrero and Ozuna switched in the order. Also Thome 5th against a tough lefty. Thome down to 5 would be understandable, but Terrero should not be leading off.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 26, 2007 -> 09:58 AM) Buster Olney on his insider blog was talking about the CF free agents after this season. He was mentioning that very few of the teams that like to spend money will be looking to do so on CFers. Cameron, Ichiro, Hunter and Jones are the 4 big ones. He figures Cameron will get a lot of interest because he will be the cheapest. He thinks he will go to Atlanta. He thinks Texas with sign Hunter, who is from around there. He thinks Jones will sign with Seattle and Ichiro with the White Sox. I don't know if he's ever been right, and its a long time between now and the end of the season, but this looks like a pretty good scenerio to me. sounds like a good deal to me...

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 27, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) wish I could help. No clue. I too love MVP 2005. I hope that's what you meant. No sports game is in the top ten of videogames ever made. Well for me, I love Baseball and sports games, and MVP 2005 was probably the game I played most, and was addictive like heroine to me. I went into withdrawl if I didn't play it for a certain amount of time... Anyone know when 2k's lease expires for the rights to baseball video games?
-
I used to have this game for the ps2 and it was positively awesome, and one of the top 10 video games ever, IMO. Unfortunately I don't have it anymore, but I am looking for MVP 2005 for the PC so I can easily update the rosters/schedules/etc, so it will be like MVP 2007. The problem is, I can only find them at ridiculous prices like 50-60 bucks, and at about 30-40 on eBay. Does anyone know where I can find a pretty reasonably priced version of the game? If anyone here has it and willing to sell it, please pm me. Also, if anyone has played the PC version compared to the PS2/xbox version, are they both pretty much the same?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 25, 2007 -> 02:26 AM) I just want to say....god has Fullerton f***ing choked this year. Even the softball team blew that one today against Arizona... that one chick took a nice slam into the wall.

QUOTE(SnB @ May 26, 2007 -> 05:38 PM) the cougar game was cancelled tonight, which gave me a much needed day off, but I was hoping the sox could squeeze this one in so I could actually see a game. You play for the Cougar's or what? What is this DH talk I am hearing about?
-
Well, Honel has barely pitching in the past two years or so... It will take at least a year to for him to get back up to around 90.
-
QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 26, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) Will they wait this game out tonight if it rains because I know they don't like to play doubleheaders when both teams have a getaway day and this is Tampa's only trip to town this year I think they are going to do everything possible to get this game in tonight.

Terrero

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 26, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) From what I know right now, he sucks. He has a pretty good K rate, but has control issues, already walking 23 batters, which results in him eventually allowing lots of hits, which means lots of earned runs. I'll put it this way, in the right place with the right pitching coach, and if he could find the strike zone consistantly, he can become pretty good, IMO. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him, and sticking him in AAA.
-
Edwin Jackson... Once considered a top pitching prospect by the Dodgers. From what I remember, he brings the heat.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 26, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) Honel is not a prospect, and McCulloch has not shown much. How come Honel can't still be considered a prospect? Yes, he has had injury's derail him, but if he can truley stay healthy and be able to throw in the 93-5 with that knucklecurve he has, why the hell not?
-
As soon as that pitch was thrown to Terrero I said goodbuy... Hanging breaking balls, right down the middle. mmmm, that is one nice cookie to smack the s*** out of.
-
Looks fake to me. You'd need a shotgun to bring down something that big.
-
Gio, Russell, Egbert, Broadway, McCulloch, De Los Santos, Honel(?)... we have some stacked pitching prospects. If just 2-3 of them can pan out, we should be in good shape.
-
Like I have said and many others have said, you love him if he's on your team, but you hate him if he's on the other team. He likes talk smack, which is okay, and he plays with a great attitude of doing whatever it takes, and that is why people don't like him.
-
If all three keep pitching like this, all three should be up. Phillips should/could be traded and Nunez is useless, put him in the pen or just release him. And then possibly trade Haeger/Floyd/Broadway to open up one more spot.
-
Sweeney is god...... Fields with another good game also, another BB . Eggy! Does Valido decide to only play during spring training?
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 25, 2007 -> 07:11 PM) Doesn't matter. It's more important than one game. I know, I am just wondering how long he will be out for. If it is someone close, like a sibling or parent, then yes, he'd likely miss more then 1 game.

Anyone know who in his family died?

Why is PK having a day off after having a day off?

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ May 25, 2007 -> 01:33 AM) You say that like you knew Crede would blow so bad before the season started. I've been saying this for a while now, actually. Last year (I wasn't on here), even though he had a pretty good season, I never thought he was that good. His OBP was at a career high of something like .330. And I thought last year was a career year, and that likely he would revert back to sucking. Everyone loves to love him and make excuses for him for what he did in 05... but it aint 05 anymore.

Lets hope Eggy can rebound nicely as did Gio.
