  1. Which Aybar are we talking about here? Willy? If so, I'd love to get him, but don't know why TB would trade him.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 01:24 PM) Maier and BA have very similar career statlines, in terms of overall OPS. Both first round disappointments. At least Anderson knows how to read the ball, take good angles, etc. Maier looks lost out there in CF.
  3. QUOTE (CSF @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) Wills was in TB by '05. Brian Dolgin was the pre/post guy in '05. Yeah, I just read his wiki page... I miss him. Loosing him and Rooney in back to back years was tough.
  4. I wonder if the Angels might be willing to move Howie Kendrick in the offseason. While he is loaded with talent, he's been very frustrating for them. He's shown sparks and showed why some think one day he might be a batting champion, but he hasn't been able to stay healthy and this year he's really struggling for them. I would love it if we could buy low on him.
  5. QUOTE (BobDylan @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) I miss Dave Wills. Beat me by a minute, I just mentioned I missed him. And I was wrong, it is Wills, not Wells.
  6. I don't. Ozzie and KW can do no wrong according to him. He's an apologist voice for the White Sox who tries to sugarcoat everything. The only pre/post game guy I liked was I believe Dave Wells, and that was back in 05. I wish we kept him. Rongey is useless.... and he gets paid to talk about the White Sox and baseball in general.
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) Stop it. He's not going to play the OF and that's not a very good idea anyway. Obviously not this year, but he's showing he's no SS.
  8. Alexei is looking more and more like an OF everyday.
  9. There's no reason why Pedroia should be on the team, let alone starting instead of Aaron Hill. The reserve spot should have gone to either Kinsler or Cano. Both started off really hot, but have cooled down, but none-the-less, would be better options than Pedroia.
  10. I'm not too worried about Ricard. He doesn't have the ceiling of Danks or Floyd, but I think with some development, he could be a real solid no. 4.... I'd still trade him along with Poreda for an ace, but that's a different story.
  11. Everytime it looks like we are finally finding our stride and breaking out, we revert back to our old sucky selves. I know one thing, I'll be extremely pissed if this team just hangs in mediocrity and we do nothing at the deadline. Either play like contenders, or play like the bad team we are. This middle ground s*** is only gonna hurt us in the long run.
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) MLB All-Star voting is still a joke, and the fans prove again that they have no business having a say in who gets to play. Yep. If it was up to me, I'd have the teams picked by tallying votes by players and coaches... having the manager pick the reserves doesn't work because they always pick players on their team. As for voting goes, you can leave the final man spot up to vote. Maybe make it the final reserve and final pitcher that you vote for. Or, at the very least, limit voting to once per e-mail address. It'll cut down on some of the vote whores from the Red Sox, Yankees, and Cubs.
  13. QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:41 PM) False. Stop spreading misinformation as if it were fact. They took a while to grow on me, wish they wore them on the road instead of at home... I really think it is at least 2 mph fast. Either that, or KC has been putting something in the water. As for the powder blues, not a big fan. I think the Royals should go with a complete overhaul of their current logos and uniforms, and start up a new look. Maybe throw a crown onto the hat.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:40 PM) Ozzie already said he is willing to have Richard go through the growing pains this year, so he can get a Danks or Floyd type return the following year. I understand that, but it's stupid not to give Poreda a spot start while we give Richard a mental and physical break, I think he needs one.
  15. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:13 PM) This is kind of OT but for some reason, Joe Maddon looks like a child molester to me. I just picture him riding around in one of those windowless work-release center vans with his stupid little Rays hat on and a box of candy sitting on the passengers seat next to the duct tape. I could see him being a big fan of sausage, if you know what I mean. I think it's because of those glasses... Seems like a good coach and baseball guy though.
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) Remember who the coach is. He has at least 4 to 5 more starts of this type of crap before he even considers making a change. Poreda is basically an invisible player, and should be in AAA getting innings instead of being up here to perpetually warm up. I guess it makes too much sense to give Richard a mental and physical break and let Poreda get the spot start.
  17. We gotta move Alexei from SS. Baseball 101, you knock the ball down, period. There was no reason why Alexei shouldn't have laid out to stop that ball, and if he dives, he most likely keeps that ball in the infield. Terrible.
  18. I'm willing to shake hands and agree to disagree if you are, WCSox... Lets be honest here, this argument hadn't gone anywhere for like the past 5 replies, it's just the same points made over and over again, except with us getting nastier and more pissed at each other. It's obvious we aren't changing each other minds, and it's getting pointless.
  19. We still got hope for JD... Hamilton will most likely opt out of the All Star game, leaving a spot open for an OF.
  20. I'm done with you. According to you moving from the left side of the infield to the right side is the toughest thing everzzzzzz and it'll cost Beckham millions of dollars. Just nonsense.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 01:02 PM) How can Madden justify putting Ben Zobrist in over JD??? Zobrist has been f***ing awesome this year... Granderson should be no where near the roster though.
  22. The all star game is such a joke. Hopefully JD will make the team for Hamilton. How many voted starters are on the DL? I count 3.
  23. Just him? I would have to think Thornton had a legit shot. He's probably the best left handed reliever in baseball right now.
  24. QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 12:16 PM) indians' wedge safe for the rest of the year wedge must have compromising photos of shapiro or something to continue to earn this kind of rope. Wedge is god awful. Good for us as White Sox fans, but bad for the baseball fan inside me though.
