  1. Don't know much about him, so I can't really talk.... I'll just say meh, not who I wanted, but looks like he has potential.
  2. Is Wil Myers still on the board? I know we already drafted a catcher, but Myers would be very tempting.
  3. Some guys I would look at: Ben Tootle, Chris Dominguez, Max Walla, Garret Gould, Jason Kipnis, and Joe Kelly.
  4. Good pick by the Giants. Joseph has been compared to Paul Konerko....
  5. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:17 PM) maybe unfair to single this out, but cmon man watch the game. so many of these young guys will never be heard from again in a meaningful way. Like I said, I'm tivoing it. I can't tivo the mlb.com feed.
  6. Chris Dominguez still on the board... I would love to get him. Also, a bullpen arm that'd be interesting in Ben Tootle. He's got a really good arm and could be ready for a role in the pen come 2010.
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:09 PM) according to keith law at espn (who most people don't trust but still he knows more than we all do) he was a sandwich pick if teams thought he would stick at C and probably shouldn't have been any higher than 5th rounder if hes not I think he'll be able to stick behind the plate. He's got a strong arm and is supposedly really smart and calls a good game. Could be a solid catcher with more work on his lateral movement.
  8. can we keep info about the game out of here? I'm tivoing the game right now, and focusing on the draft...
  9. Knew it. Scheppers seems like a guy Nolan Ryan would want.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:05 PM) Is that pick a sign we think Flowers can't catch at the MLB level? That's what I've heard about Tyler from a lot of people, but just making sure. I don't think so cause there is no guarantee Phegley can stick behind the plate.
  11. I wouldn't mind if we drafted another 1 or 2 catchers in the first 10 rounds... We could use some more good ones in the system. Scheppers and Heckathorn still on the board...
  12. Ah, love the bat... but theres questions on if he can stick at catcher. We now have 2 really interesting bats at the catcher spot, but can either stick there?
  13. There goes Brothers.... Rockies having a great draft so far.
  14. Their online feed is f***ed up.... I got sound now, but it's all choppy now. This blows.
  15. Did anyone else lose sound to their live feed?
  16. How many homers are we expecting out of Mitchell if he's gonna be Crawford with more power? 20+?
  17. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 07:40 PM) i admittedly know jack s*** about these guys, but what i do know is that mitchell was ranked by many experts to be ranked behind several guys that were available....i also am always concerned when the best tool a guy has is his speed...though i will admit i love the fact that he drew 52 BBs this year That is a sexy number for a college player... but the only problem is that he had 51 K's...
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 07:26 PM) He gets poor reads on the ball and doesn't have good range. Quentin has good speed for a big, but little acceleration. If it weren't for the fact that Lfers are so bad defensively in general, I'd call Quentin a below average lf. However, based on his competition he's at least average, potential to be above average but he ain't there. I've never got a chance to watch him play much RF, but it looked to me his troubles in LF came from the fact he wasn't used to the spot.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 07:20 PM) Danks has a corner outfielders arm though. Either way Mitchell is playing CF up until he's blocked by a guy like Danks in the bigs and at that time they'll see whose the better CF with the other going to Lf. However, Quentin is more of a LF so I think they'd be better with Mitchell in CF and Danks in RF. Quentin is more of a LF? How so. He came up as a RF, played RF in college, and has a very strong arm. I'd think his whole defensive skill set pointed to RF.
