QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) Torii Hunter looks shaky at best in CF the last 2 nights. Maybe he wasn't expecting Miller to actually hit the ball close to the warning track.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:41 PM) i guess you'd have the same complaint about the rest of the hitters in the league then, given Saunders' 3.12 ERA. What are you talking about? Saunders is a really good pitcher. But when you got the bases loaded late in the game vs. Saunders and 3 balls on you, if you don't know the fastball will be coming, you're plain stupid. He has a decent, but far from overpowering fastball, and if you know it's coming, it's very hittable. Also, Jayson f***ing Nix.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:36 PM) Hawk was actually right that Brian probably wouldn't have swung at that last pitch had the other not been called a strike. it sets up the high fastball. Still, there were 2 strikes. And there is very little chance that any hitter would let anything close go by in that situation. Hawk and Stone are acting like with 2 strikes you should never swing at anything close, and that's BS.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:36 PM) It amazes me that Josh has so much trouble hitting a fastball... I just don't get it. It's not even like Saunders is throwing 98 mph or has some wicked movement. He's throwing 90-92 mph fastballs with some a little sink. Those are very hittable, especially in a situation where you know he will be coming in with the fastball.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:34 PM) Wow. what do you mean wow? If we lose, it's because we blew it. Not because of 1 call by the umpire.
-
Come on Josh. You gotta hit that. He's not gonna risk walking you, so he is obviously gonna be coming in with the fastball. All 3 of those fastballs were very hittable, especially in the situation Josh was in.
-
Lets go Josh. Gotta hit that. He's gonna come in with one again here.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2009 -> 10:30 PM) This umpire really sucks. He's not giving us any favors tonight. I really dislike Wolf. He's never been good to us. But Hawk really needs to calm down. It's a bad call, but if that is gonna be the difference between us winning and losing the game tonight, we deserve to lose.

Nice hitting right there!
-
lol, on gameday video, they have Podsednik's throw labeled as "Podsednik's cannon throw" Lets go PK!!!
-
We should be really good up the middle for a long time. Ramirez, Beckham, Nix, or Getz in the infield and Anderson or Danks in CF. That's nice. If things pan out, our biggest question mark is who plays 2B.
-
What was Napoli looking for right there on that 2-1 pitch?
-
I think Nix has my favorite stance on this whole team. He's not on the plate, has a nice bend in his knees, and has a nice closed stance. And he steps into the ball. That's just sexy.
-
Jayson f***ing Nix.

What is with Hawk's obsession with Corky? It's almost venturing into the creepy zone.

I'm gonna have to finish MGS4 this summer. I got up to the snow area last summer, but because of doubles and NCAA 09, I got kind of sidetracked and never got back into it. I gotta finish it though. That game was great.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2009 -> 09:58 PM) Ugh, don't get me started on that. Reports indicated this offseason that it never did heal. Yeah, I heard he is spending this year getting repaired and healing it, in hopes of a comeback for 2010.

PK is a beast at the 3-6-3 DP.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 26, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) Chris Singleton is so much better away from Farmer. Maybe Farmer is the problem. Farmer and Rooney = awesomeness. Ever since Rooney left though, our radio has stunk. One of the biggest gaffes has been cheaping out and not bringing back Rooney. What a load of BS that was.
-
He's got that changeup working today.
-
Nice changeup.
-
I would love to get Rooney back in the radio booth with Farmer. And then have D.J. go to the MLBNetwork and be one of their commentators and analysts. Never gonna happen, but I can hope.

QUOTE (beautox @ May 26, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) danks goes deep!!! what is everyone's opinion on his floor, median and ceiling? I'd say his ceiling is a Grady Sizemore type player. Not sure about his floor and median though.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 26, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) Dude, seriously, stop. We know you hate Fields. Maybe avoid this thread for a while? So every time he gets a base hit, it's going to be luck? He just ran into one. Give me a freakin' break. Stop, stop what? Stop stating my opinions? Is this not a discussion? I really have no idea what you are getting so bent out of shape for. I'm stating my opinion. You don't like, please discuss it. Don't tell me stop. I'm sorry to act like this, but is this not a discussion forum?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 26, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) I wonder who they will call up with Quentin most likely DLed. I hope its not Lillibridge. There really is nothing at Charlotte that interests me in the least. I would say Wise, but I would figure he'd go on a rehab stint first. It'd be someone who could play the OF, so Lillibridge is definitely an option... sadly.
