QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 24, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) Boy that's frustrating. Really getting tired of some Sox fans pump up everything AJ does. He isn't that good defensively, isn't that good handling pitchers, isn't that good on the basepaths, and isn't that smart of a hitter. What is he doing batting 5th? Well, tough few games coming up. Still trying to decide if I want to go to the games next weekend. Speaking of Pierzynski, how much longer does he have to be our C? He doesn't do anything well anymore. Not selective at all at bat, very streaky hitter, is labeled as a good base runner but more than likely is just lucky a lot of the times, plays lazy D, has no arm, and I'm not even so sure how much of the game he actually calls (I think most of it comes from the dugout). -
Cassel with another promising performance. 7 IP, 3 H, 2BB, 6 K, 0 R

Well, we went back to reality. Now, we are on the west coast vs. good pitching. That usually equals a lot of L's. -
Does Peavy end up with White Sox before the trade deadline?
BearSox replied to sin city sox fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Pretty hard to sign with a team when you're not a free agent. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 24, 2009 -> 03:18 PM) Call Becky up, please. Danks continues to rake, definitely speeded up his ETA for Sox to mid-next year perhaps. Hell, maybe even next year. Imagine if he could make a similar impact as Granderson or Sizemore did when they came up... I'm extremely excited about the possibility of seeing Beckham called up soon and play 3B for us in June. If we call him up, that doesn't hurt his arb clock, right?

Money out weighs everything. The only other team that he would gladly pitch for besides San Diego is the Cubs. Otherwise, whoever his new team is, he'll want a lot of money and guarantees. -

Does Podsednik do the run up thing every single AB now? -

We should have worn the camo jersey's today. -
Yes, he got an RBI single, but his single was far from impressive, and he's had another 2 very poor AB's.

Sorry I haven't been able to do many updates this weekend. Things have been a little crazy for me, and I likely won't be able to start the mock draft and some profiles until Wednesday at the earliest.

I've seen rusty gates that swing faster than Josh's bat.

What is with our obsession with putting Fields in the lineup? Let Nix get some playing time. He's shown far more to me this year than Fields has. -
My new top 10: 1. Beckham 2. Poreda 3. Hudson 4. Danks 5. Viciedo 6. Flowers 7. Allen 8. Carter 9. Morel 10. Gilmore

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 24, 2009 -> 11:44 AM) Ozzie Guillen is stupid. BA in right, Pods in Center? f***ing do it right! Quentin in right, Pods in left, BA in center. I swear to god, he doesn't know anything about baseball. You don't want to be switching Quentin from LF to RF, especially when he's struggling. His natural spot might be RF, but he's been getting adjusted to LF for over a year now. I think you only move Quentin to RF if you are serious about keeping him there. -
QUOTE (Reddy @ May 24, 2009 -> 11:38 AM) why do people have such a crush on Cain? He's not that good in the NL let alone coming to the Cell... I don't mind him, but if you can get him for Dye, you do it. I wouldn't be focused on trying to get him though.
-
QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 24, 2009 -> 11:18 AM) So, say if he does get outright released, should the White Sox sign him and send him to Charlotte? Yes. Anything to improve that Charlotte team.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2009 -> 02:17 AM) 2010 can't get here soon enough as far as Jose is concerned. Thank you for eternity for 2005 and most of 2006, Jose. But you f***in' suck. I got no problem signing him to a minor league contract to pitch for Charlotte next year, especially if that is where Viciedo will be next year.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2009 -> 02:13 AM) Pretty much says it all here. I can't remember the last time I was less enthused by a couple of White Sox wins. It's gonna take an extended run (at least a couple weeks worth of games) before I fool myself into even semi-thinking this team has a legit shot at anything. Very good to see Alexi waking the f*** up. Let's hope Q gets the memo soon. As for Pods, Anderson and Fields? Well, I'll just say they're better hitters than me. I think I could strike out less than Fields.
-
This is much more than some slump. Fields simply is not a good ball player. He doesn't have natural instincts or baseball know how that you look for. He is clueless at bat, and mediocre at best on D. He's got the tools and great athletic ability. But that doesn't help a thing if you just aren't a true ball player.
-
It's been 2 good starts, but I'm far from sold on Richard.
-
I was responding to the point about how the Pirates are what the Padres usually face in the NL.

QUOTE (BobDylan @ May 23, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) I was the #19 player in MLB '08. It's possible to get beaten by a s*** player every once and awhile. Not saying you're s***, but the top players do have bad games here and there. I'm definitely not a s*** player. Currently 20-10. Average at best on O, but I just throw darts when I'm pitching. I don't know if this guy had a bad game or not, but I completely dominated him. Got 10+ hits (3 HR), 6 R, only gave up 2 hits and 1 R (I thought it was 2 outs and he had a guy on 3rd), and K'd him 8 times with Buehrle. And I was playing pretty poorly that game as well. A lot of stupid base running mistakes, and one fielding mistake that led to a R.

Swisher is currently PITCHING for the Yanks
BearSox replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in The Diamond Club
Still would have been nice to have never traded for him in the first place... I don't think I'll ever let this go. -
Sadly, as of now, Pods is our best option at leadoff hitter. And, he hasn't done as terrible as expected. The surprising thing is how horrible his base running has been. I think it's a for gone conclusion that Figgins will be playing either 2B, 3B, LF, or CF and leading off for the White Sox next year.

Did I ever take away any credit from Clayton? I'm just saying the Pirates suck.
