QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) Congratulations on 2,000 instances of avoiding work, family, human interaction and real life. And many many many more!!!! Yes sir, remember your true friends are here

    QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) No, it's YAS. I didn't know he was horny and a fossil
  4. That would be when Don McLean's Vincent (Starry Starry Night) was to replace Steam's Nah Nah Nah Nah as the official victory song.
  5. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) It is awesome, every bit of it. The Cub troll at work sent me that lame-o picture of a half-empty USCF with "Where were you in April, Sox fans?" as the caption. I replied to the email with this: "Where were Cub fans in October? By the way.....1908. Eat it."
  6. Houston has some great fans.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) I know..."big deal" compared to some. But it took me two years to get here. Either I have a life or nothing to say. Glad to be here adding my average 2.3 posts of crap daily. quality over quantity, that's my motto

Has been brought to you by superglue, horny fossils, and Steff
  10. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) I've already gotten a lot more than her autograph. Just ask Jason. Admit it, you should be more modest.
  11. What I am wondering is how he slept through all this? She did his front and back. It would seem she had to move him around a little bit.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) He's coming back for his kids, not the job. Amended then, Yo Frank, check the moving trucks and see what you want at which house
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) Who becomes the hot autograph at the fest if PK is gone? Steff, as always . . .
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Frank's moving back full time. He'll be the only one here full time aside from Oz Jr who goes to college here, that I am aware of. Yo Frank, hold up the moving company . . .
  15. Once again, we come to the point that most Sox fans want short, incentive laden contracts, and everyone earning about $5mil per year.
  16. Clemens gave Houston a 1-year hometoen discount, then didn't he become the highest paid pitcher ever after winning arbitration?
  17. Come to think of it, Can anyone on the team, with the exception of Cotts, be considered a hometown guy? I never really paid attention, but it seems most make their primary residence elsewhere.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) Ahh.. the universal example. :rolly Doesn't AB have all the offensive Sox season records that Frank doesn't? IIRC he had a monster year in a Sox uniform.
  19. That would be the funniest Sox commercial. Jay as the ultimate Sox fan. I love/hate this team. The only problem is all Sox fans love JR
  20. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) I don't believe the hometown discount is a myth at all. Players have done it. People do it all the time in other careers, even high-paid, highly competitive ones ones like corporate CEOs. Money is something to everyone, and everything to some. I just don't know if Konerko is one of those who it means everything to, today. Then are chances go down even more. Born in Rhode Island, high school in Arizona. I guess getting closer to Phoenix or RI would be the "home town discount".
  21. lol, Jay would fit in so well around here. How many f***ing choke avatars were floating around? How many naysayers that we got screwed on the Lee trade? How many were logged in last season waiting for KW to announce his resignation? Remember the dugout press conference? I'm beginning to think Jay is the ultimate Sox fan.
  22. Rex, actually does commercial work. His disco inspired car commercial kills.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) Or carefully planned.... I'm voting the latter. I thought it was obvious No one really thought he was serious, and that had an relevance to his contract, do they?
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) Tex, Kong is going to get a max deal. And that isnt going to be here. The hometown discount is a myth. The comments he made at the rally were probably just things that were caught up in the moment. His agent is going to shop him around and get the max deal. The Angels after watching Kong destroy them, and them needing a RH bat makes a perfect fit. Moreno will spend the money and is not afraid of making this deal. My money is on the Angels. I agree, and that describes about every player wanting a max deal for their position. I was just pointing out that the years are not as important as some people are making it out to be.
