  1. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Proud to say I don't own a single PC. Between work and home I have six Macs though. When you dump the 8-tracks and upgrade your radar range, you may also wish to buy a computer.

  4. Sox Fans: f*** Mariotti. First he said the chicken could cross the road, then he said it couldn't. AND IT DID!! f*** Moronotti! Cub Fans: Yeah and we had a sell out to watch it cross the road. Wait my cell is ringing.

    QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Anyone here care to post pictures of themselves for all of us to see and comment? I have one in my profile . . .
  7. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) But his mom and dad are Astro fans! And he's a Ranger's fan. f*** him. He's not a Sox fan, why should he have the pleasure of meeting the team, instead of the real fans who always go to games getting the pleasure? This sucks just like the playoff and World Series tickets.
  8. Anyone know if there is a deadline in the contract? Once Frank is free to negotiate, it would get very ugly if the team left him dangling. I would hate to see the greatest hitter in Sox history taking another deal and being able to say the team never made an offer.
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 09:39 AM) U of Kentucky - Positives: Very nice city (Lexington), good college sports except Football; stellar academics depending on what type of program you are looking for. Don't know much about the music scence. Also, MASSES of hot girls, which won't apply much to you. Negatives: Bars close way too early (1am). Not the best location for a campus IMO. Good call there. I'd have that on my short list.
  10. I'm also interested in how many civil liberties the government can take way in the name of terrorism. I'm interested in what controls the government should and will take over bio-technology. So many issues, but thankfully the writers of the constitution thought of all of them.
  11. In the Denver approves marijuana possession thread QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 08:20 AM) In a related story, Hostess unveiled plans today for its first ever Twinkies restaurant, scheduled to open in Denver, CO sometime in late 2006......

    I have never smoked pot and never will. But I do believe the marijuana laws need to be changed. I really don't see a huge difference in Alcohol and marijuana. Let the government tax the crap out of it like alcohol and use the money for schools. That trick always works.

  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) I agree with everyone else's assessment. It's been too long and sounds like more then a simple sprain. So, go to the doctor. And make Texsox fly up there and take care of you. Sorry, I don't do house calls. Plus I'm thinking some handsome hunk from the basketball team would lift her spirits more than an old man acting like a dad Perhaps Rex has a friend he would share . . .

    QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) Shame on the Republicans for basically tabling everything in the nation's interest, and shame on the Democrats for not having the balls to get a REAL message that would kick the Republican's ass out of Washington.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) I know, Flaxx, I was just proud of myself for coming up with something so profound. It's a lot more tangled then that. It was good, and destined to be on a pro-life flier somewhere. Both sides, have the most crap filled, illogical, b.s., materials to further their cause. The extremist in this battle scare the crap out of me.
  17. Wow, we turned this into an abortion thread, I wonder why our political leaders have this problem? I will say this, I respect people who have a consistent ethic here. Anti abortion *and* anti death penalty. Shouldn't aborting a 60 day old fetus carry the same moral and ethical questions and answers as aborting a 30 year old man?
  18. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 09:21 AM) ^ | | Dem Prosecutor

    QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Then let me clarify. As the MAJORITY PARTY, the Republicans need to get off their asses and actually DO SOMETHING instead of posturing for the cameras every five minutes. Is that better? You're right. It's all marketing, and more importantly, about CAMPAIGN MONEY. When Coke ups their budget, Pepsi has to follow. I found it laughable yesterday on Hannity, I didn't hear which Dem Senator Hannity had as a guest, but Hannity was fawning all over the guy because he was pro-Life. It goes back to something that LCR posted. If you are a GOP, you are Pro-Life, pro death penalty, and pro NRA. You can't be two out of the three. I agree, the GOP should take more of a leadership role in all that. But the Dems need to be talking about it also. I don't like blaming one party over another when bi-partisan would be in our best interests.
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) Dang it, you took all my fun away. I liked it actually. This is an area that I have very torn opinions. On one hand, I find abortion wrong on so many levels. I can stack up a dozen reasons why I believe it is wrong. On the other hand, I find one compelling reason to not be 100% in the pro-life camp. I can't see how I can dictate what can and cannot grow inside another human. Shouldn't a person's body be outside the reach of our government? I understand the personal responsibility on the part of the woman.
  21. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) You know what I don't get? A Kapkomet original thought here ™: Why the hell is it that if we were to find an amoeba or *ANY* single cell on the planet of Mars, the next day the headlines would scream, ***LIFE ON MARS*** but an abortion isn't killing life? /Carry on. I don't think anyone, outside of an uber-pro-choice person would say an abortion isn't killing life. I believe the pro-choice crowd would tell you there is a difference in viable life. They would further point out that if you are equating a single cell organism and a baby, they have won. You probably would spray for cockroaches, kill ants, knock down a wasp nest. If you do these things, and you equate a single cell organism as human life, how can you not support a woman's right to decide what can and cannot grow inside her body? After all, if any single cell organisms = a human life, then we cannot even kill a weed. If we can kill a weed, we can kill a zygote.

    QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) Read my post again. I gave equal rippings. Actually no, the other rippings highlighted stuff that both parties need to do. Increase our border security? Both parties. Hold investigations? Both parties. Bettering health care, education , etc. Should be both parties. Or are you suggesting that only the GOP should or can do those things? I agree with you that those things should be a higher priority, I disagree that it is solely the GOP's responsibility, as your post seemed to indicate. Hey, when I'm ranting, I don't always type what I mean. I think it would probably be closer to your meaning to remove the party tags and just call them Senators or Congressmen. With the exception of the confirmations, I'd agree with your post. I believe the parties stopped selling ideas and goals a long time ago. They realized they were closer to Coke and Pepsi, than black and white. So now it's all about marketing hype. The fact that people who identify themselves with one party will defend damn near anything that party does while attacking damn near everything the other party does, means the politicos have won. I only drive Dodge, Ford Sucks. I'm a Sox fan, f*** the Cubs. I'm a REP, screw the Dems. All marketing.
  23. I've had friends at several of these. Illinois State in Bloomington-Normal is nice. A couple posters here went there. A buddy from Middle School and the God Father to my oldest lives there. He really likes the town and the area. Southern ~ I was only there for Halloween. Enjoyed it. Loyola is very urban. If you want a city life, this would fit the bill. UoI, huge school. I never really cared for the campus when I visited, seems too spread out and difficult to get around. I imagine that would change if you live there.
  24. Wrestled the deer? :headshake Like he couldn't have herded it out a door. I would have got him close to the kitchen or some place easier to clean, then shot him. I think Texas has a landowner exemption for at least one deer.
