It seems like Burke is always getting the s*** end of the stick. I've always liked the guy. But then again, I was really sad to see Sandy get tossed out with the garbage.

Left and Right Field That Is.
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) The spin of the ball is the opposite, and it throws players. Some can handle it, many can't. Also LF is usually your weakest arm, as they want someone in RF who can stop a runner from going from 1st to 3rd on a basehit. I understood a guy being left only, but right only? Isn't the spin the same, I guess it's the perspective that is different.

Opening Day
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) That's all right, we'll get to laugh in August when it is 100 degrees and humid everyday. you talking to me 100 is the morning wake up temperature, then it gets hot. I loved the games in really crappy weather. The best people stick around during 2 hour rain delays and blizzards.

Left and Right Field That Is.
I was looking at a couple teams depth charts and started wondering, if you have the arm to play right, why can't a guy play left? It seems like such and easy switch, yet not many guys do.

What realistically would make Sox fans happy? A solid hitting, MLB ready, third baseman After that I don't see anything we would make an upgrade at. We traded for or signed via free agency the guys starting in Left, Right, Second, Catcher, and basically 3/5 of the starting staff since last year. Kong is a legit All-Star prospect at 1st and A-Row could be in Center.

Ewwwww first cousins go to MD to marry
QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) Would this be the point in time where I say it distresses me that many many states allow incest but don't allow same sex couples in love to enter the same responsibilities and rights through a marriage or civil union? Yeah, I think it is. They don't allow first cousin same sex marriages either. Isn't that fair and balanced?

Ebay denies man trying to find his son
Unemployed father of three, missing for over a week. I'd be desperate too. Getting turned down by eBay is probably better than having them run the ad.

I doubt it will add or subtract a win this season, so it's just a nice diversion before the main feast. Just a well educated guest, but anything short of Davis for Gagne will have the Kenny hater complaining. I'm a little surprised that we haven't heard Willie's name in all this. I am expecting someone to make an offer that Kenny can not refuse.

NC law against cohabitation being challenged
Of course the ACLU is involved to get the law changed. I suppose the hard core GOPerheads will have to defend the law.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) Alabama is one of 19 states that allow cousin marriage without ANY restrictions. Been doing some research?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) That's a typical remark. No, Kentucky would be a typical remark, I thought Alabama was a nice touch Of course, sadly there are many who believe this. :banghead

QUOTE(mreye @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) These kids weren't in carseats / seatbelts? :headshake Not that they deserve this, but let this be a lesson to all parents! They talked about getting thrown from their seatblets in one of the articles, but that might have just been the baby in a child seat.

Johnny Cochran Dead
If we had less rights and protections, we wouldn't need all these lawyers. Get screwed by a large corporation? Too f***ing bad. Fired because you voted for Bush? Too f***ing bad. The cops think you did a crime? Go to jail, too f***ing bad. We need attorneys to buy a house. Why? Find out that the title isn't clear and you lose? Too f***ing bad. Find out a car dealer sold you a lemon of a used car? Too f***ing bad. Faulty product design cost you your eyesight? Too bad. If people would suck up and admit they lost, and move on, we'd save billions of dollars a year, unclog our courts, and be better off. The government should provide legal counsel on both sides. Once a lawyer is good at winning for the defense, move him to the prosecuting side. You should not be able to hire a "dream team" and get off. All criminal attorneys should work for the government. Why should one side be fielded by $10,000,000 suits and the other with public servants? If everyone knows you are guilty, we shouldn't even waste time on a trial.

Gang to target vigilante border patrol
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 07:49 AM) Ummm don't forget a sizable number of the terrorists who committed the acts of 9-11 were here illegally. And if you want to be technical about it, all they were doing was exercizing their religious freedoms. If the US waited for them to break some kind of a law that wasn't immigration related, it would have been too late... and for 3000 people it was. They blended into society, worked, took classes, went to church. On the surface they were law abiding citizens, until they hijacked those planes that is. And how many were Mexicans working in packing sheds and produce fields?

Gang to target vigilante border patrol
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 07:45 AM) I answered this one yesterday. Because statistically Mexicans are thousands of times more likely to stay here illegally. How many illegal Canadians are here, how many illegal Mexicans are here. Which border does the problem lay at? That is why the rules are more strict there. SO they are more likely to overstay a 6 month Tourist VISA than a 3 month VISA? Why?

March 2005 Quotes of the Month
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 07:02 AM) I wish more from both parties would get on the "center" stage. Too many are on the far right stage, as well as the far left stage. I'm not just talking about this particular issue, either.

Kruk and Reynolds AL Central Preview from ESPN
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) Until the Sox prove them wrong, why are they morons? They haven't picked us the last 3 years and we haven't won. Don't be pissed at them for calling us losers, be mad at the team for proving them right. Dibble picked us last season, now he's gone. Maybe it's a conspiracy We totally changed our team. Dropped back in the outfield corners, added a couple question marks at the 3 and 4 starter position, added a never seen in America second baseman, Thomas is on the DL.What's not to like? Obviously we leapfrogged the Twins Both the Twins and the Indians have won the Central since we did it last. You got to beat the man to be the man.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 06:56 AM) Nope. Just Jesse Jackson. Exactly the same as why I don't use "Reverend" Jerry Falwell. I have little or no respect for either man. I was pointing out his title kindof puts him over there with the parents. I also think any attempts by the Dems to join the GOP on center stage would be seen as grandstanding and exploitation and bandwagon jumping.
