    Weird Quirks?

    QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) CDs, DVDs, Board Games - Alphabetical Books - I have a large collection of Presidential biographies - They are organized by what number of President they were. Alarm clock time set 5 minutes fast, of course. I brush my teeth in the shower. [feeling like Kramer] brush your teeth? I shave, but always brush before the shower. You're showing me something. [/Kramer]
  2. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 11:18 AM) We're guys. We like to & You even got it in order By the way, this thread has officially been hijacked 4 times. We are now playing 4 degrees from WMD

  4. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) Beaver fur will NEVER go out of style. Or do I mean furry beavers? damn we are easily amused
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) That's not true. We are too busy ignoring Mexico. We ignore Mexico but not Mexicans . . .

  7. If any department read fan sites it would be marketing.
  8. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) No. Never. Not even once. I don't think he ever has but if hge did it could explain a couple f*** ups . . .
  9. The Central may be more than a two team race.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) That, my fellow North American, I can live with. Carry on. Did you notice whenever Canda comes up in a debate at some point it's just ok, whatever, it's just Canada. There is no fire to keep up the debate. I think we've been ignoring them ever since beaver fur went out of style. I kid, 'cause I care® Used by permission
  11. I would like to acknowledge that having a country like Canada sharing such a long border, has been nice and helped both countries. Imagine a cold war with Russia pointing warheads from Windsor instead of Canadian Gentleman's Clubs.

  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) That $350 million? Watch how much of that cycles back to the US in payments to US based businesses like Haliburton. The US has the resources, know how, and services to handle this sort of massive infrastructure work. We even have a company whose expertise is in mass processing of corpses.
  14. YAS, Southsider, you got this? I'm going where they need me . . .
  15. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) Oh yeah forgot we have to make those millions..... Never forget to follow the money . . .
  16. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) You've got to be kidding nobody cares about Canada and no one in Canada is scared of being invaded. The only country that would ever invade is the U.S. due to their disappearing ressources. ie water There is such a fundamental difference in between how the majority of Canadians think and how the majority of Americans think. Of developed nations, Canada has one of the smallest standing militaries and spends the least for national defense. Why is that?
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) I have always said that I would like the Darth Vader theme to play everytime I enter the room. Then you walk around the room scaring ever kid by saying "I'm your fatttttttttttther"
  18. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) s*** if thats the attitude I think the US has helped those ungreatful bastards enough....have fun rebuilding your country by yourself....but thats just me. Wait a minute. US companies are lining up to cash in on the rebuilding. You can bet Haliburton, and some of their subs who walked out on Iraq, would love to shift equipment and personnel to less dangerous regions. Lots of money to be made.
  19. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 12, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) Basketball is nowhere near as physical as hockey. To an extent, football isn't either. Football has more physical play, but the hits in hockey are far more intense. Emotions run much higher in a hockey game because of the physical play. It's part of the game, and without it you'd have stickwork and other cheap shots all over the place. I don't think hockey fills the stadium by using it. Most hockey fans are hockey fans because of the other facets of the game. Fighting just adds to it. So a physical sport needs fighting? Are you saying attendance would go down if fighting was eliminated? If it is such an integral part of the game, why are there penalties? Why not set it up like checking. Some forms of checking are allowed and others are not. As long as the two players agree, and they are at center ice for the best fan views, and both players have dropped the gloves, there isn't any penalty? Maybe allow two fights a period. Only if one team is down two or more goals. To sell the game the NHL would have a mission statement like this: The NHL strives to bring the best in combining skating, passing, checking, deft stick work, and fighting. I think the choreographing was lacking here.

    Weird Quirks?

    QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 08:14 AM) I am severely afraid of vomiting. That pretty much eliminates you from most drinking games Clock set ahead a few minutes -- check Alarm set for odd times -- check I always have to shampoo first in case the water should go out. I figure hair is the hardest thing to wash outside a shower. The water has never been shut off while I was showering. I always had to make my last basket before quiting, and sink my last putt. When packing for a trip, I always double check from the ground up, these shoes with these socks with these pants, etc. Wallet always in this pocket, keys always in this one. I won't even bore you with my backpack but sufficient to say, everything has a place and in the dark I can immediately find whatever. Took months to get to that state. CDs alphabetical, books by size. OMG, Damn you ChiSoxyGirl, I think I need therapy
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 09:09 AM) Sorry, but if we have major disaster I don't want to see armed Chinese military walking down our streets. Agreed. Especially if they want to replace our corrupt government with a better one.

    University Question

    I've been to both towns and if I had a choice of where to live for a semester, it would be Clemson by a small margin.
  23. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 08:35 AM) I agree with you totally on this one. We had an open road to Baghdad, solid international backing and about 3 times the troop strength in theater that we have now. I was 13 years old at the time and was watching General Powell doing his little briefing on CNN showing on the map where our forces were and that there was nothing in front of us and thought to myself....."So what's the holdup? Finish it." Not solid international backing. Bush Sr. had a mandate from the UN that reached to the border, not all the way to Baghdad. That is the biggest difference between the two Bush approaches. Sr. followed the UN resolutions to the letter. Dubya used Iraq's failure to follow UN resolutions as justification to attack Iraq, while simultaneously not following the UN direction of not invading. One was in 100%, the other just used the UN for what he wanted. Either way it was great fun and we will reap the benefits for years to come.
  24. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) By that logic you could say that the SUV next door is helping to preserve world peace. Not world peace, just a corner of it.
  25. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 01:55 AM) The world is going to continue to revolve around the Middle East for foreseeable future. The Middle East and the oil from there. Considering Iraq's proximity to Isreal, the instability of the House of Saud and the ever increasing upsurge in violence from the funamentalist Islamists, the U.S. needed to establish a foothold in the region to protect the interests of the U.S. Iraq will give us a staging area in the event of troubli in Isreal, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, etc. I'm not justifying the Iraq War by saying that. I am stating that I believe those were the main reasons Bush and Co. got us involved over there. You are correct. As soon as we no longer need oil, we will see hell on earth as all the world's super powers pull out of the region and start selling weapons to the highest bidders. Hell we'll sell to country A, then sell the antidote to Country B, then a better weapon to country C, until they are all gone.
