NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico -- An 8-year-old girl abducted in Indiana and rescued just across the Mexican border may not be able to return home because she's not a U.S. citizen.
That's what police say after Jacquelin Rodriguez Ortiz was found Tuesday in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico -- just across the Rio Grande from Laredo, Texas. She was in the custody of Carlos Alberto Ramirez Gonzales, who U.S. police say may have abducted her.
Ramirez Gonzales is an ex-boyfriend of the girl's mother. He remains in the custody of Mexican authorities.
