  1. Was he in the 'let's swing at everything and maybe I'll knock it out' mode or were they just good pitches? (I'm at work so I can't see a damned thing 'cept the puter screen.)
  2. Yup. They switched him in the Dodgers organization when the hip thing came up.
  3. I thought Ozzie reemed him a new one when he was thrown out at 2nd after watching instead of running?
  4. LOL! Yup. I don't know too many people who's god parents are a blood relative of their parents (the only reason I worded it that way). I was going to include the explanation my grampa had for her being the only Cubs fan in the family - her brain was put in backwards.
  5. My godmother (my mom's sister) thinks he is the greatest thing. Whatever floats her boat, I guess.
  6. You'd be surprised at how many Cub fans think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread...
  7. Nothing to do with Marrioti, just the media (not sure if this counts as 'the media,' but what the hell). I was listening to 97.9 this morning (as I do most mornings) and they had all these cub fans calling in ripping on Sox fans. Saying that Sox fans jumped onto the Cubs' bandwagon last year (not one Sox fan I know did something that heinous), that Sox fans are trailer trash, ripping on 'The Cell,' and of course jumped on the last resort for cub fans, better known as attendance. I almost dialed up, but I didn't want to waste my minutes (keep in mind I have so many free minutes that I can never use them all each month lol).
  8. I am going to steal a line from a movie (a Steven King movie I can't remember the name of at the moment): "Sometimes being a b**** is all a woman has to hold on to." And a morphed Muppets Movie quote: "b**** not name, b**** job." (Original quote was "Jack not name, Jack job.")
  9. Me too. My mom introduced me to baseball when I was 4. Her dad used to take my mom and her sisters all the time to see the Sox so it does run in my family (and yes, my nephew already has a Sox onesy and we are trying to find a day to take him to his first game).
  10. Child Found, Mother Arrested For Endangerment Sounds like the kid is okay. He was found near where I used to live - 60th and Kedzie (I grew up at 62nd and Fairfield and my parents now live at 60th and Springfield).
  11. I gotta say Kudos to Garland since I have no problem blasting him when he isn't as sharp.
  12. Shouldn't that be more like: Before Tuesday's game meditate I did. A feeling the Sox will sweep I had.
  13. Brian and I are planning on next Sunday (July 11th). Should we think about getting tickets ahead of time or think we can get okay-to-decent seats day of? I really don't want to pay ticketbastard any fees, but I don't want to miss out on the game.
  14. Wonderful! Thanks for the info! ::heads over to yahoo to check in on the game::
  15. I'll miss July 4th's game (headed to St. Louis for the Cards-Mariners game). Hopefully the Sox will have decided the series by that point in their favor.
  16. For him it would have to be Ricky Rudd or the Wood Bros lol.
  17. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought this.
  18. Page is opened on my 'puter. GO SOX!
  19. Dang, being at work I can't get into chat. I guess I will have to rely on yahoo for updates. Good luck on the server work today.
  20. Nope, you don't. My mom had them when I was about 6. She was in the hospital with them and ended up losing 3/4 of one of her kidneys (it tore up the inside of the kidney).
  21. All I got to say is withdrawl is a b****. Other than that, take care of those finals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
