Depending on how many posts you view per page per thread, 4th post down from the top of this page (for me is about the 79th post in this thread...if I can count and I am seriously doubting that now - off to home with my tired self).

It's one thing to disagree, it's another to start name calling. That's all I'm gonna say 'bout that. (Mostly because customers have fried my brain with too many questions this afternoon and partly because I refuse to get into it with anyone here - I come here to have fun and laugh and damn it, I will continue to do so!!! )

I can't stand Tom Cruise so I can safely say that I won't be seeing that one. Brian had wanted to see it (Vanilla Sky), but heard only negative things about it from people he knew that saw it, so he changed his mind (and I thanked my lucky star for that too).

I can remember watching a few MLB games wishing that was a rule the MLB used.

And I thought 3 hrs was long for a game... :sleep heehee Sens win 4-1...and as much as this pains me to say...Go Caps!!

I must confess that I stole that one from Brian. We travel around alot to see the Cincy Cyclones play and we are used to be the visitors. As visitors I think it is mandatory the home fans say 'Cincy Suck!' as soon as they see us and Brian gives 'em the obligatory 'Yes, but (instert home team name here) swallows.' It usually diffuses any situation for some reason - maybe like you said Steff, male humor. The only problem this year is that they really do suck (and bad) so we generally just nod in agreement.

And baseball swallows! Sorry, but I love my hockey.

One more I just thought of - the Mariners/Spanks trade last season (I can't remember the players involved). I remember after that trade there were quite a few wondering what the hell the Mariners were thinking...

Which is where hockey is right now. Baseball really needs to watch that situation closely if only for information.

That was just one example. There were several others in the last few seasons, but I am too damned lazy to look them up right now. Sorry. My whole point was that the Spanks get what they want, when they want it and on their terms and the 'other team(s)' act like they were blessed because they got to deal with the Spanks... :puke

To each his/her own, whatever floats your boat, whatever rocks your world...I've got a million of 'em! heehee I know I was in the minority with that opinion (Brian absolutely hated it as well as anyone else I knew). Never said I had much taste outside of my mouth!

I don't want to answer for Tony, but in the past, it seems as if teams think it is an honor to hand over talent to the Yankees (see the Weaver trade from the Tigers to the Spanks as an example). The Spanks seem to know how to hypnotize/rip-off teams and walk away with what they want.

Extremely valid points. I guess time will tell. I do think they will have minimal problems this year.

Brian and I were disussing this when the ARod deal came across the ticker on ESPN. I mentioned how thin their pitching is, but he brough up how potent the offense is. Of course my next point was to say, look at the Rangers and his point was that the Spanks pitching was a bit better to which I agreed. Basically, we couldn't agree on where the Spanks were going to be at the end of the year - I said not as great as everyone is expected and he thought they were going to be as great as expected.

I'm too lazy to look it up and I am certain someone here has heard some details - what's the financial deal? Are the Spanks taking the whole contract or is Texas expected to pony up some dough? Considering it was reported that the Rangers are getting the Soriano (that is the 2B/OF's name, right) and a pitching prospect, the Spanks should take the remainder of the contract in its entirety.

Yeah - that's it exactly - this weekend sucked for me so I am not in the best mood and thusly not watching how I word things.
