Anyone doing anything romantic/fun for V day? Since Brian is working this weekend (Sunday makes 14 days in a row), I don't know what I will be up to other than bringing him some dinner later in the evening. We were supposed to get carry-out and rent a few DVDs but since Phil (Brian's boss) kaboshed that, maybe I will still do that, but share my meal with my hamsters instead of Brian . Also, what are you getting your significant other? I am getting Brian PS2 NHL 2004, a green pen and a Die Cast of a Mercury Turnpike Cruiser. We plan on playing each other in the NHL game. I can beat him in PS2's NASCAR game, but I am not that great with the hockey (looks like I'll have plenty of time to practice though ).

Where can I find a listing of what pitches each pitcher throws?
-
He was also rushed back due to lack of pitching (remember outside of Loaiza, and maybe Colon no one on the staff was doing much). I do think he would be better suiting being a long reliever, but I definitely haven't given up on him as a starter.

I can't remember the last time I used TicketBastard for any sporting tickets...oh wait, for the Bears when I went this season. For Baseball or Hockey, I get them at the door - no fees and I still get kickass seats. When I went to Peoria a few weeks back (granted it's AA hockey) I got seats on the glass and the place was packed. When we go to the Wolves games, we get seats day of the game and have been able to get them anywhere we want. As for baseball (Sox of course) it's about the same - I meet my mom at the park or when I go with Brian, we drive together and get tickets that day. We generally have been able to get whatever seats we want.

Buffs alledgedly recruited by Sex Parties
Queen Prawn replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
What could they sue for? The sex was consenting and you can't tell me an 18 yr old doesn't know that unprotected sex could lead to diseases especially if the girls were being passed around from athlete to athlete. -
Brian's brother had a problem with Radon in the house he just sold in Naperville. Not sure what he had to do to fix it. When I lived in Woodridge, I swore by bottled water because the tap water tasted horrible. :puke
-
Aurora is under a boiling order now because their water was contaminated by coliform (sp?) - the contamination is from goose crap that got into their water reservoir.

The house is technically completed! We are planning on buying either a water filter that attaches to the faucet or one of those that you put in the fridge. I would like to get one that attaches to the faucet, but I need to do research to find out what model is best. Any ideas where to look for something like that - is there something like 'consumer reports' online?

Bruce Wolf was talking about this on 97.9. Bruce makes me sick! :puke He has got to be one of the most annoying news guys on the radio.

Alumni rip decay of Irish football
Queen Prawn replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
LOL! I thought you were posting about soccer in Ireland... -
I just posted about that at inthecrease.com and I will sum up that post here with one smiley: :puke

You apparently haven't drank tap water during the summer -> :puke . Seriously, though, I will by bottled water occasionally (last time was after the plumbing was completed in the house and the water still had an off taste - now that it is fine, I don't buy it).

Got to agree - I had none unless you count the 1.5 days paid leave for my grandmother's funeral. This year I get 2 weeks vacation and we are allowed 5 sick/personal days.

A couple posts reminded me of something the saleslady said to us after we picked out the ring that struck Brian and myself as odd. She said something about trading up later in life to get a 'better' diamond (something about a 'Leo' diamond). The way we look at it is, this is the ring we picked out together, so why would we want something else later on down the line? It ticked off Brian, but it puzzled me why a woman would want to trade in the ring her fiance/husband gave her...
-
Sounds like the how it was/is for Brian and myself, except for him picking out anything in relations to the ring itself.

I remember a couple years ago listening to a spring training game while it snowed - we had something like 6 inches of snow that day.

Glad to see another Sullivan on the team! lol

I used to experience this quite often, but I haven't experienced that in at least 6 to 12 months. Discovery channel did a great special on what causes this and some of the other experiences that come along with it. What can I say, Discover channel is the channel for me. I've just never had a dream where I was so afraid after becoming aware I was dreaming. Usually once I become aware, I have fun with it.

LOL! The funny thing is that Brian and I have more taste in our mouths than in jewelry and I still ended up with a ring that most seem to really like (not that, 'oh, it's nice reaction, but really like it). His friends were impressed that he finally took care of business - all his friends were figuring we were going to get married by the time we were dating for 6 months.
-
I don't think so - that's why the company I work for calls them sick/personal days. As they say - use 'em or lose 'em.
-
Brian didn't ask - he pushed me into a jewelry store and said, 'Pick one.' Vintage Brian if you ask any of his friends.

This thread reminds me of a Queen song from their 'New of the Day' album - 'It's Late.'

Not lately, I'll look when I go home.

When any of you dream, have you become aware during the dream that you are dreaming? If so what do you do in the dream - do you have fun/go to extremes in the dream or do you try to wake yourself up? A couple nights ago I had a dream where all of a sudden I became very aware that I was dream and had a terrible feeling of impending danger and couldn't figure out how to wake myself up. I started breaking coffee mugs and then all of a sudden I thought, maybe if I go to sleep in the dream, I will wake up. I looked around for someplace to fall asleep and since I couldn't find such an area, I closed my eyes and then finally woke up. I've had many dreams where I was aware I was dreaming, but never felt like I was in danger or went into a panic because I couldn't wake myself up.
