  1. On a side note, Evan is also from Virginia Beach. And he built my swimming pool. So, twenty years from now I can tell my children that I employed that f***in wannabe millionaire!
  2. I used to go 5-6 times a year but since oct 13 1998 Ive only been to Chitown for a total of three days and that was last year. I stayed in Gurnee and went to two Sox games against the As. I hope to go to college in Chicago and become a Comiskey regular and maybe even have season tickets...
  3. There are other teams that I admire but it really has no effect on me whether they win or lose. Such a team would be the Angels (gotta love the way that team plays, so aggressive) and the Orioles (my family is Cal Ripken fans, and we still respect the Orioles a bit)...
  4. Well, who knows? I think it was Rowand but Im not really sure. We were hitting a lot of bombs that day...
  5. You need to watch a lot more baseball son. Why do you say that? I watch a ton of baseball, I just never saw old Comiskey...
  6. If it was Wright and Val I would say sure but I dont like this trade. Were givin up too much... I wouldn't even do that. Boy have I changed my tune quickly. Now if they want to do Jose, Rauch, and Stewart for Rollins and Brett Myers, we got a deal. Depends. Gimme more info on Myers. I know hes a decent pitching prospect but is he worth Rauch? All I want is Rogers and a CF. Nothing more. We dont want to get another Royce Clayton and screw ourselves over for the next two years...
  7. If it was Wright and Val I would say sure but I dont like this trade. Were givin up too much...
  8. I think it was Rowand who last year hit a rocket shot that never went more than 15 feet off the ground. Im 15 so I never got to see the old Comiskey but exactly how far was a roof shot? BTW, this post now makes me the 15th starter and member of the 500 club. I just didnt want to make another infamous post whoring thread, as apu calls it...
  9. Wow, thats pretty cool. Too bad you got a lousy answer. If Rosenthal was looking at upside I dont see how he could put the Sox that low. He a liar!
  10. The biggest reason I want Rollins is it answers what may be my biggest fear, the lack of a real good leadoff hitter, one thats proven himself. It also gets Manos out of Chicago, something I can't complain about and opens up our infield. The defense will be much much better, making the pitching staff better. I do love Rauch though. It could turn out bad for the Sox, but I do think Rollins is one of the best shortstops in baseball and he should only get better. I think Jiminez should do fine in that role but insurance is never a bad thing to have. I just would rather not have it at that price...
  11. Im gonna have to say Garland. I woulda said Crede but our offense is dynamic so even tho I think hell do great it wont kill us if he doesnt. Unless we sign Rogers, Garland/Wright/Rauch are gonna have to contribute for us to go far. They did well at the end of last year tho so I dont think theres any reason to worry...
  12. Then again, Rollins is young and should only get better but hes proved what he can do, unlike Rauch. But I do believe anyhow that Rauch will be good. So how do you measure talent? With our killer offense I think the only weaknesses we should concentrate on CF and C. So Im sticking with what I said. Theres just no point in switching shortstops (even tho they are of a different genre, one is power and one is contact and speed) and losing a potential ace in the process. Sign Rogers, give Rauch one more year (but come to think of it hes 24 so he should be here this year) and leave the rest of the team alone. Unless we get a CF, which I dont think we need drastically...
  13. Rollins is a great player but giving up a potential ace in Rauch is not worth it. Signing Rogers wont change my mind either. Rogers has maybe a year or two left while Rauch could be our ace for the next ten. How bout, Dan Wright and Val for Rollins?
  14. This craps gone too far. They have a show where you get matched up with a mate by your friends and you get married on National TV. Then they wait to see what happens. This crap is going way too far. Who knows, soon it may be uncool to not meet your chick on TV...
  15. OK, with all the improvements weve made even a Twins fan has to have some guts to come here, but a tribe fan? Whoa. Cleveland is just the newest member of the terrible trio, along with KC and Detroit. And as for the rubbing our wounds with salt and laughter, I dont think youll have the opportunity. But when the season starts Im sure the winners deserve some moron to bully, so please, make yourself at home...
  16. Black Hawk Down was a reall cool movie. I got it the day it came out and I watched it like everyday for a month before it finally got tiring and now I havent seen it in like a month. And there are two reasons I like Little Big League. 1) The Sox rout the Twins in the movie and 2) The Twins ultimately lose. Good movie!
  17. It doesnt really kill me that Eldred is gone. I really like where the youth movement has brought this team and I think Eldred woulda just been taking up one of the youngsters spots in the rotation but I do wish him well in St Louis and maybe someday he can become a pitching coach for us, that would be cool. As for the trade, theres no way we coulda done it without them. Great trade...
  18. I say B Action movie, because, it's not gonna be winning an Academy Award anytime soon. Comparing it to a drama it's just a B Action movie. It's a good movie for what it is, A popcorn summer action flick, it wasn't made, or written to get the Nick Cage or Sean Connery any type of awards, it was just supposed to blow s*** up like any other action movie. I'll watch your Blockbuser 100 Million Dollar movie, just for a laugh and a good time, but I prefer more of the story/character driven movies over an action flick any day. OK, thanks for the explanation cali. Im not gonna stop watching it tho. Theres something different about it to me. Dunno what, but just something about it makes me like it alot...
  19. Clerks is just funny as crap, my mom hates that movie but me and my dad love it. Major League 2 is a really good one. I know the Sox lose but its really cool to see a movie where were the powerhouse and all the stars flock to us, another reason I like Angels in the OF. But I wish we could get a movie where were the underdog that surprises everyone. And as for The Rock being just a B action movie, I dont really see how you come to that conclusion cali. You can have your opinion but could you just explain it please? Either way, I still love that movie!
  20. Ive only seen the first and last honorable mentions and while they dont beat my two choices theyre still pretty good movies...
  21. What are yalls favorite movies? I have two, one action and one comedy. The action movie is The Rock and the comedy is Ferris Bueller's Day Off. What are yours?
  22. I dont think less of him for continuing but there are a few reasons I woulda finished my career with that title winning shot. First, it would be great to go out on top. And it woulda kept him loyal. If I went like 15 years with one team and I was 40 years old at the end of a brilliant career I would call it quits. Rather than be traded and go to my second team. But its Jordans life and I can still respect him for just loving the game...
  23. Im number 15! Only 15 posts away from becoming a starter! Wow, a couple months ago I woulda been like number one. Yes, ask hsc or someone, I probably would have outdone jason. But I kinda cooled down and started posting longer, better posts and as they always say quality is better than quantity.
  24. I agree wsf. I the team sucks and no one deserves to go than no one should go. The best players should go, PERIOD.
