  1. Hey Jabroni - when are you going to answer this from post #11? You obviously seem to be ignoring it.....maybe it was too difficult so I reproduced it below =================== QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:04 AM) Will b****ing about the attendance change a f***ing thing? Nope. So why even bother b****ing? ===================== So will b****ing about Ozzie change anything? So why even bother? So will b****ing about Cruddy change anything? So why even bother? So will b****ing about giving up BMac for Chavez change anything? So why even bother? So will b****ing about Shingo change anything? So why even bother? So will b****ing about Jizzcan change anything? So why even bother? So will b****ing about Brantley change anything? So why even bother? So will b****ing about Timo Focking Perez change anything? 2. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 07:07 AM) WHooooo careess, all that matters are wins and losses. This just in, players dont give 2 s***s about fans (most probably share Everett's thoughts), all care about making money, and some value winning. They don't go to Soxfest or do events because they want to, they are forced to or are payed for it and don't want to ruin their rep(exceptions might be getting good feelings for making kids happy, but I doubt they care about the 30 year old season ticket holder). Because of this, I don't think they care about attendance at all, and it doesn't affect performance (obviously to this point). The atmosphere is overrated IMO (it's better for fans of course, except that you get the idiot fair weather fans at the park who show what idiots they are. I personally like not waiting in lines and getting a nice seat selection). Why do you need help to get motivated when you're the best team in the big leagues? Oh wow, 30,000 yelling "Guch", I'm sure that will help him guess right on the breaking ball. Plus we are dealing with Uncle Jerry here, as much as I like him, I doubt a big part of extra attendance money would go into the payroll, and as it is, this team has already tried obtaining different stars, and it hasn't worked. And if he would put it in the payroll, I'd still expect raised ticket prices, which means if this team stops performing, attendance would be lower than the norm. And I also agree with the comments above, living on the West Coast is also an excuse, so quit crying. Obviously, nobody is even saying you should be going to at least 1 game, but you shouldn't tell others to do so when you don't. Other fans also live out of market, far from the market, can't afford tix, etc which would all fall under excuses, such as weather, school status, or living on the West Coast. Who cares? Read before you post genius. JR cares. And if JR cares, it affects who we have on our roster every year.
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 07:05 AM) Just as relevant as someone from the suburbs b****ing about Timo or Crede. You are on a roll nitetrain
  4. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 07:02 AM) you think that b****ing about Ozzie's decisions will do anything, or that if you complain enough Joe Crede will wander into traffic? by your logic, you shouldn't be posting here.
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 07:03 AM) As are the other threads. Hell, why not just shutdown soxtalk.com since all the discussions are pointless? This is just as pointless as a Chavez thread or Timo Sucks, etc. thread. I am still waiting for Jabroni to respond to post #11 in this thread. What happened Jabroni? Cannot find it????
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:58 AM) I haven't attended 1 Sox game in my life. Does that make me a bad person? Expect Jab to tell you to get onto the next flight/ship/underwater train from Australia to Chicago before you say a word in this thread
  7. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:56 AM) so, $150 total in plane tickets, $15 for parking, and the tickets themselves vary from $15 to $150+, depending on how many people are with him and what kind of seats? that's not really chump change. $150 for plane tickets? Try $300 man.....nothing from the Northwest to Chicago is for $150, not even South west
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:55 AM) No thanks. I'd rather live in Chicago, actually ATTEND games, and still not b**** about the attendance. Still waiting for your response to post #11 Jabroni :rolly
  9. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:53 AM) I beg to differ unless near heart attacks every game is what you consider ''fun''. Close games tend to be exciting/fun. Yes, I would prefer the 10-3 blowouts too, but with this team, we know it will be a 3-2, 4-4, 6-4 grind it out all game situation
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:51 AM) Fly in for a Sox game sometime and I probably wouldn't care as much if you b****ed about the attendance. But you are living on the west cost and watching games on TV and you are still b****ing about attendance? Come on... Man, you keep changing your argument because your previous one keeps getting blown. I will be coming down to watch at least one series in Fall.....hopefully the twinkies series
  11. QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:46 AM) *Posts it again, in hopes that someone will see the light* Yahtzee - obviously a very valid point, but I do not belive in a city like Chicago we cannot sell out both teams. Especially when we continue to win and be fun to watch
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:46 AM) Sign studs? We already told you that Reinsdorf wouldn't spend millions on a guy like Tejada anyways. Not gonna happen, whether the attendance increases or not. I do not believe that one bit. Kenny would get studs if he could, no doubt in my mind. Yes, JR has had his issues in the past, but he has also doled out lots of cahs when we were selling seats at a higer rate than today. Remember Navarro? Albert Belle? Franks contract itself?
  13. Pierzynski glanced over toward the Sox's dugout for guidance, but manager Ozzie Guillen's policy is not to get involved in pitch selections. "First of all, I am not that smart," Guillen said. "Secondly, I am not that good. I trust my catchers." http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:42 AM) That's one thing I do my share of too. I'm forever buying Sox hats and shirts. It's ridonkulous. I buy tons of Sox merchandise too despite not being in Chi
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:42 AM) I will answer you in the form of a question, a la Jeopardy... Why bother worrying about the attendance when you f***ing live on the west coast? Does it hurt your feelings that badly when the park is not full, when you are watching the game from your home? By the way, I have a Minnie Plan with my girlfriend and go to many other games and I still don't give a s*** if other people go to the games or not. Dude I made it clear why I care. Because it affects the team's chances to sign studs. Read my posts again.
  16. Cotts being mentioned in the same sentence as Maddux, Glavine & Gagne Oh boy....the apocalypse is indeed here
  17. Jabroni I am waiting for you to respond to post #11 in this thread.
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:34 AM) It's just pointless to be brought up here. The people on this board make it to the games whenever they can. We have to be some of the more hardcore fans. We're spending a great deal of our free time on a White Sox message board. C'mon now. I am not bringing it up here to point fingers at anyone. See my first post, disclaimer #2. I am bringing it up to solicit opinions on what could the real reason be? With every passing day, every reason thrown before (weather, attendance, lack of winning team, lack of confidence the team will continue to win, non-friendly park, upper deck, blue seats etc etc) is getting proven to be wrong
  19. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:27 AM) People should just go to the f***ing games. Brilliant :banghead
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:16 AM) So would 29 other GM's. Of course so would 29 other GMs, but we would have more of a realistic shot to get someone like him when he is on the market because we would actually have the $ to even talk to him. Right now, we do not even bother thinking about the ARods and Tejadas of the world because we are forced to get DeAngelo Jimenez and Juan focking Uribe because we do not have the $ to go after the studs. ANd the reason we do not have the $ is because we do not have the attendance other teams do (not the only reason but a big reason) I am going to be really pissed if we let Garland go in the offseason because we do not have the $. We need to re-sign Garland, re-sign Frank (at a new contract, not the one that exists), replace Paulie with at least a decent 1B and replace Crede with a better 3B to continue to be competitive.
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:21 AM) You wait until you move to Chicago. Even then you still have no right to b**** about the attendance. So you conveniently skipped my post about "why b****" jabroni???? I expected more from you man. Why is this not a fair question to ask now?
  22. Back to the topic. Most people said we should not worry about attendance in April and May since the weather is cold, school is not yet out and people need to see for a while whether the Sox are for real. Those same people also said if these problems continued into the summer with us playing well and in first place, then it was time to be concerned. So now I ask? How long do we wait before saying this is a problem?
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:07 AM) Yeah, I'm sure Reinsdorf would have loved to throw around that kind of money. :rolly No doubt in my mind Kenny would get the best available if he had the resources. If you have doubts, you must not be paying attention to everything Kenny has been doing for a while now.
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 06:04 AM) Will b****ing about the attendance change a f***ing thing? Nope. So why even bother b****ing? So will b****ing about Ozzie change anything?
