QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 05:56 AM) I don't care that you live on the west coast. If you aren't going to Sox games yourself, you still have no right to b**** about the attendance. It's pathetic. I would not b**** if it did not have any effect on our ability to win games every year. Facts are it does, and I want my team to win every year, so b****ing about this is fair game. Nothing different than say b****ing about any of Ozzie's moves. Should only those people whohave coached be allowed to b**** about Ozzie too then in your opinion? The reason we keep experimenting with inconsistent boobs like Uribe and that 2B who just got cut by the Reds is because of our inability to pay for top talent every year. If we did nto have attendance issues, we would have Tejada currently instead of Uribe, and we would be looking at a pennant in Chicago guaranteed. Now, we have to hope and pray we can make the right moves every year.

Too many RH bats together. Need to put AJ higher and send Paulie's useless ass to the bottom 3 once Frank returns

DISCLAIMER - I CANNOT ATTEND SOX GAMES SINCE I LIVE ON THE WEST COAST. SO SAVE THE "YOU CANNOT SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU DO NOT ATTEND GAMES BULL s***" DISCLAIMER II - 99% OF THE FOLKS HERE, I BELIEVE, ARE HARD CORE, AND ATTEND AS MANY GAMES AS PERMISSIBLE, GIVEN EVERYONE'S CONSTRAINTS. SO THIS IS NOT A SHOT AT ANY OF YOU, SO SAVE ME THE LIST OF HOW MANY GAMES YOU HAVE BEEN TO ETC ================== Now to the problem. WHY THE FOCK DO WE STILL HAVE ONLY 23K FOLKS ATTENDING ON A FRIDAY NIGHT???????????? Is it still cold? Is school still not out? Is it that since Indians do not have any of their bandwagon fans left, we cannot sell out? Is it that people rather spend on Star Wars? Is it the economy? If we do not start filling out the park with the best record in baseball 1/3 into the season, when should we expect this???????????????? Considering the co-relation between what we spend and what we get at the gate, this is now a major issue, whether anyone is willing to admit to it or not.

I really think Frank should start at 1B in the inter league games in the NL parks. Try him for a couple of games at least. Clearly Paulie is going through his off year (which he has every other year now). He is not going to turn it around, so might as well play the better bat. Frank will at least walk and get on base if nothing else. Paulie is just pathetic right now with his swing.

I am maybe the biggest Cotts (Botch) basher around but I will give him credit for today. I doubt he can keep it up, so his role as mop up/once in a while 7th inning pitcher if we have a 2 run lead is fine.
-
I think Brantley was being sarcastic by saying he did not know Hermy could get a LH out. In some sense, he was taking a shot at the Ozzie for MOnday again
-
The other thing is Count or El Duque will be available in the pen too for the playoffs. Right now, I would use Count as the 4th starter in the playoffs and Duque from the pen. But way too much baseball left, and with Duque's playoff magic experience, he might get the nod for 4th pitcher Playoff Bullpen roles Count (for 6th/7th) Marte & Politte (for 7th/8th) Hermy (9th) And if it goes to extra innings, then we go with Viz, Shingo, Cotts
-
I still have faith that Viz and Shingo will turn it around. If that happens, watch out.

QUOTE(SAVVY18 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:42 AM) I loved hearing both Hawk and DJ rip into Brantley. What did they say?
-
Twinkies win too.....we need to keep winning. With that Twinkie bullpen, and with Santana and Radke, they will be around all year long.
-
I will admit Neal showed up today. So I will lay off him today. 3 Ks in the first inning was a beauty to see (on game day )
-
Now with Frank back and Everett available as an extra OF, Timo really needs to be gone
-
Man, have we gone soft or what....no doubt this team is playing mediocre recently. ================= CLEVELAND SUCKS CLEVELAND SUCKS CLEVELAND SUCKS EAT s*** BASTAGES What happened to the rivalry with the hated tribe? Shame on you, so called Sox fans

I know Ozzie is Ozzie, and there is not much method to his madness some time. But what bothered me the most about the loss two days back is why was Uribe allowed to hit with Paulie on the bench? Yes, Uribe has been the better hitter this year (not that it means much when compared to paulie), but given we were down 3, and a double would have tied the game and a HR would have won the game, why was Paulie not used as a PH there. We could have always replaced Uribe with Willie at SS and inserted Gooch for 2B. Anyone?

QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) I was asked to let y'all know when they beat a good team like the Padres. Just lettin' you know. For the record, I hate the f***ing Cubs. Stop being so objective around here, Hideaway. That win last night does not count for the Cubs. -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) Wood-never won 15 games Prior-never healthy Zambrano, pitching like last year was over his head Maddux-done Rusch-horrible As for their lineup-they have the most unbalance and incomplete lineup in their division. No lead-off hitter, terrible fundamentals, cant even bunt. Their coaching is horrendous, their defense is below average, should I say more. Rusch is horrible? He is 5-1 now after last night's win against a very good Padres team with an ERA of 1.96. He would have more wins if his BP was better/healthy. He will not keep this up throughout the season, probably, but to say he is horrible (for a 5th starter) is just plain ignorance that you are displaying. -

No way in hell should Kenny trade BMac for overpaid Chavez Too much risk with Chavez's recent #s, and with no pitching depth, we are screwed come any injury to our pitchers (2 of whom are known for it) Finally, we have 5 solid pitchers + 1 decent back up, and people want to go back to the Diaz, Munoz etc etc days????? Pitching is ALWAYS a premium. Never give it up easily. And never for someone with huge question marks like Chavez (0.218 = no roids?????) I am a huge Kenny fan but I hope common sense prevails and he simply looks elsewhere if Beane wants BMac for Chavez. Kenny can pretty much give up anyone else from our prospect list but not a solid pitcher close to playing in the majors. -
If the Tigers trade Young away, how the hell would Young be part of the Central division champ Tigers
-
I just cannot believe it. This team gave up Giambi, Tejada, Mulder, Hudson in such a short time frame Yes, Giambi has sucked thanks to roids, but everyone else is still a stud
-
And so starts the As unloading....

Give them Anderson instead for Chavez. OFs are easy to find in FA. Hell, if Dye turns it around, with Pods and Rowand bound to be around, we are set for next year too, after which Sweeney could replace Dead -

One question - who do you think will trade for Kendall if the As do go on a firesale? He is making tons of $ too and I doubt Beane keeps him around while rebuilding.... Thoughts?
