  1. QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) Man you guys get this stuff up fast! He had it up before we actually won....if we had given up the one run, this thread would have been a disaster :banghead
  2. I will admit Cotts has been impressive lately. Let's see if he keeps it up. If he does, it would be awesome, because I still have faith that Shingo and Viz will turn it around soon. This way we do not need any BP upgrades and can focus on the SS/3B position at trade deadline
  3. I am embarrassed with this win ... what a crappy offensive display Way to go Cotts and Count How will Ozzie fock up the 3rd game now is the only question left?
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) Cookie or muffin?
  5. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) Let's see um shallow RF, RF, deep RF, way too deep in RF, 1B, and translator? He cannot play 1B....please take that off the list
  6. What is funny is the Mets have 10 hits but only lead 2-0 I can still see Pedro losing this game
  7. Pedro with a no no against Astros through 6 innings Discuss here (in case I have not jinxed him yet) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34906
  8. I guess I jinxed him now 63 pitches through 6 innings in a no no vs the hapless Astros
  9. Nothing wrong with playing the bench, but do it one player at a time....not all in one game
  10. This is from Peter King's Monday Morning QB football article. Nothing thrills me more (after seeing the Sox win) than seeing Georgie's money go to waste Pittsburgh's top 5 pitchers: Pitcher / ERA / Salary Mark Redman/ 2.82 / $4.5M Kip Wells/ 3.58 / $3.18M Dave Williams/ 3.75 / $330K Josh Fogg/ 4.12 / $2.15M Oliver Perez/ 6.41/ $381K Spankees top 5 pitchers: Pitcher / ERA / Salary Randy Johnson/ 3.92 / $16M Mike Mussina/ 4.32 / $19M Carl Pavano/ 4.50 / $9M Kevin Brown/ 5.43 / $15.71M Jaret Wright/ 9.15 / $5.67M http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writ...afc.pick/2.html
  11. I could not believe how many people kept saying his off speed stuff would simply not work in the lite air and he would get his brains beaten in A lot of those people, ironically, also said Shingo would get hammered too with his off speed stuff. Oh the irony as Shingo pitched one scoreless inning too
  12. Thomas wanted to go to Atlanta with the second overall pick, but the Braves took Tyler Houston. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  13. We should be on track to win the first two games of the series. The question is what will Ozzie do then to screw up the 3rd game?
  14. I could not believe how many folks were saying before the game that Freddie was going to get his ass kicked in Coors if he threw his off speed stuff. Well, as it turns out, he threw a 2 hitter despite throwing tons of off speed stuff. Just a reminder of how little fans really know ================== "I threw a lot of sinkers and changeups, and that worked," said Garcia, who struck out a season-high 10 and didn't allow a walk. "I didn't think about what happened in the past." http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  15. We are on track to win the first two.......only to lose the last one thanks to some Ozzie brain cramp
  16. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 05:22 AM) How bout Billy Koch for a familiar face to be added back to this team?
  17. Ducks on the pond, 2 out, Uribe up Oh boy....I can see this guy going for the grand slam now
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) We also missed Vlad and K-Rod in the two Aneheim series. Plus Morneau in all the Twins series this year. While there is obvious upside to having all these guys out when we play them, I do see this as a long term downside. I would like to see what this Sox team can do consistently playing against full rosters. That way we can get a better handle on where this team really needs upgrades before the playoffs.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:51 AM) Friday: 23,132 Saturday: 26,365 Sunday: 26,146 Those #s are sad.
  20. So how many people showed up on Sat and Sun? The crowds looked good on TV.....I hope it was 30K at least each day/night Anyone with #s?
  21. Guillen clearly denies any trade in the near future. ================== http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines "We've only had three days with them [both healthy]," he said. "We're going to find the best way to resolve the problem, but we are not going to get rid of anyone, because we don't know how Frank is [physically]. I don't know how many games Frank is going to give me."
  22. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 04:17 AM) Naturally, we have our three offspeed pitchers pitching in Colorado. I hope Freddy stops being so damn in love with his curve and slider, just for this game, because his stuff will flatten out in a second in Colorado. And Duque? In Colorado? Oh God... Imagine Freddy, EL Duque and Count trying to hit now
