Still in 1st place after the win by Garland tonite

For those whining about why someone is complaining after one bad game, you must be kidding. This is not a one game issue. I have yet to see Botch add any value to this team period at any time in the last 2+ yrs. I am happy with our start as a team, but there are weaknesses on this team, and if calling them out means we are taking a "sky is falling attitude", you guys need to check your homer glasses. Other than that, go Sox.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) This is very typical on almost every board. The Sox lose and people start crying about who sucks and should be cut or sent to the minors. These guys had a bad freaking night, it happens. I don't think you can blame just one guy for this either. Nobody really looked that good last night. Overall the defense looked terrible and the pitching was certainly not stellar...get over it. When has Botch had a good week? Go look at his focking career stats. He blows.

Still in first place despite the loss today. If we keep this topic up, the Sox will never lose the first place

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 05:19 AM) Second thread about him and mentioned him about fifty other times... i think he is cereal.

Career 6.14 ERA for a focking reliever is TERRIBLE The guy comes for 2 innings max and gives up runs every single time

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:59 AM) Kenny: "Hello, nationals? We want vinny castilla." GM: "Oh ok......cause you know we want to trade one of our only solid players in april" Of course I meant after 10 more games. You know by then the Nationals will be officially eliminated
-
Ozzie sucks with his tinkering ....I already had a thread on that. But why is the other LH reliever who did well in the ST games not here instead of Botch
-
I love the smart folks who defend Neal Botch He has a 8+ ERA and they will still defend him
-
Currently batting 0.393 with the Nationals. Had a great night today. He cannot be worse than Cruddy. Just get him here and platoon him with Cruddy if needed.
-
Send his ass to the minors. Why does this guy belong on a major league team?
-
Still in 1st place baby

I am convinced that if Frank and Maggs had not been lost when they were last year, this team would have won the division and got into the playoffs People can believe what they want, but it is amazing how people just forget that little piece of fact that was most instrumental for our slide last year in the 2nd half

Still in 1st place....your White Sox

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) You don't rest a guy like Posednik when you're going for the sweep against a division rival. You just don't do it. You bring your A team with you and you go for the jugular. You want to get the rooks some playing time wait till you're facing off against a s***ty team like KC or something. 100% agreed. Don't expect anyone to get that though

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Those three Jacks sure were his fault. :rolly It was his fault that he did not remove Shingo after the 2nd jack. But wait, he did not have anyone to go to in the pen. But wait, that was because he had 3 relievers go through one inning despite all 3 looking good.....ding ding ding....yes, that was Ozzie's fault. Yes Shingo blew it, but his manager did him no favors by having someone behind him in case he had an off day. That is what managers do....they manage for the worst case situation. Ozzie failed miserably at it.
-
Ok I will let it go now. I guess pointing out something that I believe to be a mistake is not allowed here. I would like us to kick the division rivals hard early to set up a lead we can maintain despite when we do go in a slump (which will happen...happens to every team). Ozzie is responsible for the one loss with his BP tinkering.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) The indians are in our division but our rival? If you say so. Two days off in a row for a catcher and shortstop is even better. Then they both may be able to go 5-7 games if needed... at least five. qwerty Do you consider the Injuns as a threat to win the division? I do....especially with the pitching of Millwood as seen by all twice now When Sabathia gets back, this division will be a 3 team race unless there are some major injuries. In fact I would not be shocked at all if it comes down to between us and the Indians with Twinkies out of it by all star game (given they have Morneau and Mauer batting in the 4th and 3rd spot respectively)

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Rowand is a career .175 batter in April. His struggles are not to be unexpected. So we should not do anything about it.....ok
-
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Are you somehow suggesting you are not happy with the Sox being in first place? Are you somehow suggesting that we should not look at improving any of our decision making? We must have won the WS for the last 5 years then.....
-
QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Maybe so, but it's more important early in a season for a manager to learn what the members of his team can and cannot do. I'll trade 2 or 3 early losses if it saves us 5 or 6 down the road. Nothing wrong with that except that with the way the schedule is right now, I rather have our A team firing against the division....AGAIN ESPECIALLY WITH AN OFF DAY TOMORROW If he benches someone against the BJs, Devil Rays, Mariners etc, I have no qualms....I do have issues when he does it against the Twinkies and Injuns....two teams that are our bigggest threat to the division (Don't tell Dmitri Young I said that though )
-
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Are you somehow suggesting you are not happy with the Sox being in first place? I am suggesting Ozzie needs to learn when to bench his players Not when you are playing against the division rivals in a division as crowded as ours with a day off the next day

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) 5-2 with all that Tinkering. When will this madness end? We could have been 6-1 or 7-0 without the tinkering
