Time to give me my kudos folks, because almost 20 days back I said the Sox's best chance of going for it (if they are serious about it) is to get either Randy or Beltran There is no doubt we need one of them, in my mind, to compete with the Yankees. Beltran gives us that LH hitter and someone who can hit the tough righties we will face in the playoffs. Randy gives us the pitcher no one from that Yankees line up wants to face. 3-0 baby I attended two games in the magical 2000 season, one against the Spankees and the other against Cleveland Sucks and we won both then ... they were soon after the 7-0 sweep of the Spanks and Tribe....the applause for the players was awesome I attended the great Sox-Flubs game in 2001 (I believe, I might be wrong on the date) when Carlos Lee hit the grand slam to win the game in extra innings....the ball landed two rows before me in the left field stands ...here is the pic below. On the first HR, the guy stood there for 5 freaking seconds in his batters box...I have the game taped and I counted it multiple times On the foul ball, the guy NEVER got out of his box....and no way was that a goner. It could have hit the blue top (the soft stuff) and come back

I have defended Carlos here rigorously for his first pitch hit that day, and in general, I am a Carlos Lee fan, but holy crap I could not watch the game yesterday since I had to go somewhere so I taped it (since I live in the NOrthwest I get the M games here) I saw it last night late and on both of his home runs, the man just stood there and kept admiring the flight of the ball.....agreed it did not matter but come on, given there were 1 and 2 men on base, can't he freaking run instead? And then the worst one was when he hit one that was almost a HR but was just foul....he stood there again looking at whether it was fair or foul....what if that one was fair and had hit the top the railings and come back? The guy would have only got a single when he should have got a double Sorry but I saw this happen 3 FREAKING times last night, and Carlos had a great game but RUN THE f***ING BASES HARD

So what does Kong do on the first PITCH...HE HITS IT FOUL Second pitch....he hits it FOUL So why is he NOT TAKING ANY PITCH .....given how important is at bat is for the game and given a bas ehit would tie it with two outs Of course he even went after the 3rd pitch (on 0-2) count and got a basehit to tie it 5-5, but where are the bashers? Like I said, if C Lee had got a bse hit with that hit that day where he hit the ball hard, there would be no threads :fyou hypocrites
