JOSE WALKED? OMG
-
AARON EFFING ROWAND We are still alive here ...at least until the Angels knock a few more against Elo
-
That is not true, given the Hawks went to the playoffs for a consecutive 27 years upto 97 (a NHL record) and went to the Stanley Cup finals in 92 (something the White Sox have not done...i.e go to the World Series since 59) If anything, in order to get to the playoffs and be competitive, the Hawks never really rebuilt their youth and prospects....they traded like crap too last decade...but it is very similar to the Sox where they get into the thick of the playoff race only to lose out or lose early in the playoffs
-
Oh the Hawks have rented a plenty.....getting vets that take over from the youth's playing time Remember last year when Quint was playing instead of Mccarthy Or Korolev playing instead of Yakubov/Vorobiev Or Karpo playing instead of any AHL player who is better than him Or Nichols and Nimmenen playing instead of the youth Or going back, the great Zelepukin or even doug Gilmour aftre his prime?
-
I swear for a minute I thought you were talking about the Blackhawks
-
I will wait before getting into panic mode....in my mind, I never thought we would beat the Angels more than one game (the first one)....if we win tomorrow, it is still what I expected I DO HOWEVER BIG CONCERNS about the playoffs.....we need Beltran or Randy Johnson if we are really going for it Randy Johnson would be great since it would send Scho is the bull pen for the regular season and also add Garland or Elo (depending on who does well in second half) to the bull pen for the playoffs
-
Let's face it, we are still a team tha needs the freaking long ball Of course, the problem is we have faced two crappy pitchers the last two nights and done squat Get Randy or Beltran Kenny, this team will be swept in the first round of the playoffs, if they are lucky to get there
-
Have faith boys, remember Ozzie ball
-
I have called for Randy since forever Randy or Beltran is absolutely needed for this team to have a chance And do not tell me Randy is old....I will bet anyone here a nickel that Randy will be pitching very well next year too....the great ones do it despite their age

To me, this one quote says it all.....he does not consider himself part of us folks....hasta la vista "It's hard to say," Ordonez said. "They signed Garcia, and hopefully, we can get something done. That's all I can say."

DAMN YOU BAGGIO FOR STEALING MY OBSERVATIONS

Sorry but my calls for getting Beltran here if Houston gets out of the race need to be taken seriously by Kenny I have seen this O choke every freaking big game....they just cannot hit under pressure or when it counts to give me any assurance they will be able to do it when it matters Get a left handed bat here that can play CF -

Sometimes, when two people walk before you, the best pitch you get to hit is the first one since the pitcher will put it in the heart of the plate to not get behind Trust me, the logic works both ways....I have seen so MANY hits on the first pitch after two walks that score runs....considering Lee smoked it, it proves my point....he got unlucky.... :banghead -

Except for Kennedy batting 9th at 0.247, there is no freaking easy out with this Angels' line up Erstad at 0.276 is the next lowest, and all of the remaining are above 0.280 with 4 greater than 0.300 If Freddie can shut this lineup down, it just shows how good he is -
Chicago lord of trade: Williams has Sox in hunt
sox-r-us replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If you ask Ncorbgl, Kenny is not even the GM Back to the topic, Kenny is an awesome GM because he understands risk taking....he does not do things the safe way and hope to get lucky with the WS win that has eluded us.....he goes out and takes chances to get us the elusive WS ring....and he does that with VERY limited resources (very tight budget, little hope of increasing fan support in a town fixated on the Cubs and a team that has never been known as a team that FAs would yearn to go to for less money) Hence, Kenny should be applauded for actually working and doing everything to win. The man is possessed to win.....hopefully, we have him with us for a long time. I really really hope for his sake we get to the WS, because he puts his job on the line every time he makes a trade. KENNY WILLIAMS......YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS -

Yup....and with Lackey pitching for them in the "O friendly USCF" confines, I like our chances Pitching matchup ANA: RHP John Lackey 5-8, 5.02 ERA in 2004 0-1, 24.00 ERA vs. CWS in 2004 0-2, 11.42 ERA lifetime vs. CWS CWS: RHP Freddy Garcia 5-7, 3.35 ERA in 2004 0-0, 3.46 ERA vs. ANA in 2004 10-2, 2.48 ERA lifetime vs. ANA -
You know you could have posted this in one of the 5 threads for Garcia right?
-
Yes folks vote for Frank....screw the darn Yankees and Matsui

Writers come out with anything they can sensationalize to sell papers....if you let that bother you, they have done their job because you will keep reading to assure yourself that what they had written was wrong You wanted a close game, it was a close game when it was called off.....2 run game against the Cubs bullpen without Jo Bo and Remlinger is not a blow out....we could still have won....it was not to be, that is fine As a Sox fan, every off-season can be tough if we do not make the big moves other teams do....but remember how weak this division is and Minny will be losing many of their key core (Radke etc) too.....and if we stay in first until the end of the year, we will make enough money to at least have the same payroll....so do not worry
