Throw some corks on the field when SamME comes up IlliniKrush

Keep in mind how young this guy still is folks He is not Prior in terms of mental strength, but give him a break. I hope we do not trade this guy away any time in the near future. He should be a solid block (#3/maybe even #2 pitcher) for a long time for this team.

tick tick tick.....Heather should be here any second.....tick tick tick

Was the supposed to be in green?
-
Remember we get Maggs back soon too

Tigers and Royals will be fun to play against after they have sold off their vets at the deadline

This is huge win for this team not only because of the sweep of the twinkies in Minnehaha and the fact that we are now two games up, but also because we won a close, low scoring game.....we have to see if our pitching can win us some games too....and this was a huge step towards getting some confidence for the playoff like games Now go kil the Cubbies boys..... :fthecubs

I would like to see us win this game 2-1 I want to see us able to win a close, important game when our O cannot produce. That is how most playoff games will be.....let's see if we can do that today

Did anyone catch baseball tonight last night??

I have said it before, I will say it again Get Randy Johnson or Carlos Beltran (if Houston slips and puts him back on the block) That will get us to the favored status -
Agreed 100%
-
He got a HR too
-
This is all good and dandy to beat the AL Central and get to the playoffs But we need one reliever at least for the playoffs to go for it all. I still say a Beltran or a Randy Johnson is what this team needs to put the fear of God in the freaking Yanks

We can have Rauch ready to take over if he does not do well I like the idea of him going 4 to 5 innings, followed by 2 by Rauch and then our studs take over

Now we have 4 "White Sox Winner" threads

Time to start a rant thread against Freddy and Shingo?

I know Jose has taken his share of bashing here, and so did KW during the off season when he extended him to a $5M contract. Guess what folks? Yesterday, the two NL shortstops in the race for the AS start were Renteria and Adam Everett (they were separated by 6 votes as of yesterday) How much better is Jose compared to them? Jose beats or is as good as Everett in every category except hits but Adam has 30 more at bats. Renteria has more hits than Jose but again he has 70 more at bats, and Jose is better or equal to Renteria in OPS, OBP, HR, RBI and SLG. The only category Renteria is better than Jose is BA. One can argue that Jose would play int he AS game in the NL folks. Now, even if we compare Jose to the AL candidate Derek Jeter (Nomar is not considered since he has been injured most of the year to draw enough data), Jose has 90 fewer at bats than Derek which explains 30 fewer hits, but still has the same # of runs, similar BA, similar OBP, similar HR , similar RBI but much better SLG and OPS. And this is despite batting so lower down the order in front of Sandy/Olivo as opposed to Jeter batting in front of ARod, Sheff, Giambi etc Now Tejada is much better than Jose, granted, but Jose is doing very well this year folks. Jose should be given more respect. Jose: 218 AB 44 R 58 H 0.266 BA 0.578 SLG 0.910 OPS 0.332 OBP 16 HR 44 RBI Adam Everett (Houston): 257 AB 45 R 70 H 0.272 BA 0.358 SLG 0.671 OPS 0.313 OBP 3 HR 14 RBI Edgar Renteria (St Louis) 280 AB 43 R 81 H 0.289 BA 0.396 SLG 0.730 OPS 0.333 OBP 4 HR 32 RBI Derek Jeter (NYY) 302 AB 46 R 82 H 0.272 BA 0.454 SLG 0.785 OPS 0.331 OBP 13 HR 40 RBI

And a grand slam and a cycle for El Caballo?
-
Ok I was wrong on Berkman, but Baggio and Bagwell have not produced this year
-
No hammerhead, their O is s***ty....which is why they traded for Beltran Biggio and Bagwell have done JACK SQUAT this year.....Hidalgo sucked and was traded Berkman has been decent but nothing spectacular If Kent is gone for a while, then it cancels the additive effect of Beltran
-
If it was that easy as sittng for the slow stuff and hitting it on the rope, do you think junk ballers (like the startin pitcher in Boston, I forget his name) would survive? They never pitch anything in the 90s and still manage to pitch successfully because of movement, location and chaneg of speeds from slow to slower to even slowest

Look at how may hits Buerhle and E Lo have given up this year. Look at how many HRs ELo has given up this year Facts are both of these are around 0.400 ERA pitchers....and the ones they will go up against will have better ERAs and much better experience in the playoffs
-
Great win....get the series win tomorrow, and then go for the sweep.....we shoul dcrush the twins every chance we get to the point where they are demoralised.... I will never forget how these f***ers came back and won last year after losing the first two games of the series at the Cell in the last month of the year Kill them tomorrow and day after....keep it up boys
-
I beg to differ....Buerhle and E Lo will give up at least 4-5 runs against that Yanks line up.....look at how much they have been hit this year....then see what quality hitting teams have done to them Remember, we play in the worst division in baseball and are only tied for the lead....just getting Garcia is not going to get it done, we need a LH bat or a Randy Johnson
