  1. Dude Please explain this again...it did not make any sense, and being an out of towner, I will never see it...
  2. I agree Reddy...I would rather win first. I also do not want them to win by beating us in the world series....no way But, if their winning does not impact us, I do not mind. Frankly, I doubt if their winning a WS will further reduce our attendance. The facts are most casual fans as of today would rather watch the Cubs at Wrigley than the Sox at USCF. Those who attend Sox fans are die hard who will be there independent of what the Cubs do. In fact, if the Cubs win the WS, or contend like they are supposed to do this year, there will be no tickets available for Wrigley the following few years (like it is today), which means the average fan of baseball will all come out to USCF since they have no other place to watch MLB JUst my two cents....it can work both ways
  3. Oh I long for the days of Parque (butter), Baldwin, Eldred and Sirotka
  4. For those who want the "I do not care" option, I guess that is what my "I do not mind" option also included. If you do not care, you do not mind I guess.... I do not mind the Padres winning the WS because I do not care
  5. I expected worse .....death threats in the form of IMs might be next I guess
  6. I know I will take a lot of flak for this, but I have no problems seeing the Cubs win the WS this year. I know some of their fans and some of the preferential treatment in the city by the media (though I have seen many instances to the contrary) make it difficult to like them. But I actually do not have a problem if they win it all this year. It would be great for a city like Chicago. Of course it will hurt our chances for attracting the casual fan, which means lower payroll and worse teams for us. But it could work the other way too....maybe JR will finally realize he needs to do something to win if he sees how much a winner is revered here in Chicago. Also, most of the Cub players are good people (Samme being an exception) and easy to root for. I love Prior, Wood, Ramirez, Alou, Patterson, Maddux, Zambrano, Clements etc ....and would love to have any of them on the South Side. I firmly believe also that if one team wins the darn WS, then both teams will start winning them more often....just a gut feeling. I doubt anyone else will vote for the 1st option, but would like to know your thoughts on this.
  7. Tonight's game is on ESPN for out of towners such as myself.....let's kill the darn Indians
  8. Your lover boy gave up another walk off HR last night I am sure there is an idiot in the Marlins fan base who is saying right now: "Botch will be our closer for the rest of the year, period."
  9. And none of the Botched saves will cost us a division. I am sure of that too because after all Botch is our closer, period for the rest of the year
  10. But I do not think we need a 5th starter. After all we were told most teams do not even have a 4th starter
  11. 2 games in a row Willie has been benched....hmmmm
  12. Hate to rain on the negative stuff before the game starts but I do not have a good feeling about today.... I am amazed at how we have won tons of series but have not been able to sweep anyone since the Royals at USCF I think I think we lose today but win series tomorrow....of course you can all beat me up if this does not happen and we do sweep the Expos
  13. Botch is our closer period...deal with it signed Koch-lover anthony
  14. Considering Crede has had his hit for two days, it will be on Burke's shoulder...and they may walk him to get to Buerhle....in which case we better pinch hit
  15. We better hit Biddle and his 6.85 ERA Kong sucks...bench his ass and let Frank play
  16. :fyou Buerhle 7 runs to this team?
  17. Since Ozzie has started giving Paulie and Frank off days off, both of them have been sucking Frank was hot when this started....I wish he had stayed with Frank until he cooled off, then bring Paulie in
  18. I think he gave Johnson the intentional unintentional walk since he is the only Expo with >0.300 average
  19. I said this before, I will say it again The Expos currently have 4 players (Wilkerson, Everett, Vidro, Johnson) who will bat lefty against right handed pitcher (say tomorrow or day after) Why not play both Frank at 1st B and Paulie at 3rd B? 3rd B is as good as 1st B when you have half the batters playing opposite to the other half
  20. I guess we should remove Buerhle too then?
