  1. That sounds ominous ("resolution expected one way or another.") I can just see it now...."we came to the conclusion as a front office that it was most logical for someone of Craig's pedigree to have the opportunity to rebuild his trade value." Kimbrel, the gift that just keeps giving.
  2. They have to do a reverse CBT to penalize teams in different tiers spending under $100 or perhaps as low as $90 million.
  3. Perfect timing....don't want to wait until late Sunday because NCAA tourney selection swamps all the news pretty much.
  4. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-post-lockout-trade-candidates-16-players-who-could-be-dealt-before-2022-opening-day/ Obviously includes Kimbrel...
  5. You would pretty much have to eat all but $6-8 million of his 2022 contract to get him off the roster...
  6. For those who missed it... https://mobile.twitter.com/BaseballBros/status/1499174358857797632 Druw Jones is eerily reminiscent of his father at the same age...just not quite as thick through the upper legs and torso.

  8. Not a big believer in Stiever or Lambert? We better hope Vera is #1 on the top prospects list one year from now....or one of those 3-4 A ball hurlers can figure something out and magically stay healthy.
  9. Or alternate Lopez and Keuchel depending on matchups and keep trying to build up Reynaldo's trade value where you can pair him with Sheets or Burger.
  10. Or for Kimbrel, since the front office and owner usually has to double down on being right. At least they admitted failure with Cesar Hernandez early in the process. There's that.
  11. KW still has Dunn nightmares, for Hahn it's LaRoche and Alonso.
  12. Would love to see, but also one of those "prove it!" moves the Sox haven't distinguished themselves with more than a handful of times the last four decades.
  13. With Eloy, you're 75% worried about him injuring Moncada, Anderson and especially Robert. We only have a replacement for one of those positions...because you can't count on Leury to have a repeat season.
  14. He's a kinder, gentler Rongey. My prediction: Ron stops bringing up his plan to defect to the Cubs.
  15. Would settle for the Japanese RFer whose name eludes me after months and months...
  16. We are never, in a million years, adding Castellanos...
  17. And/or not being able to dump Kimbrel is the reason for diminished financial flexibility. We shall see if the Balta Ray Ray chorus is proven wrong soon enough.
  18. Symbolically, at least, this creates the impression they were still fighting for more instead of acquiescence.
  19. Guess this whole debacle needs a new set of villains…Manfred was getting played out.
  20. https://www.mlbplayers.com/player-leadership And there is Francisco Lindor…along with Scherzer.
  21. Interestingly enough, it was Conforto at the end of 2019…the Mets’ player/union rep.
  22. Lindor? Maybe he should be more concerned with playing better…
  23. Yet another reason not to have voted in Cohen…just read Dark Edge or Black Edge or whatever the heck that book’s called, he will make Mnuchin look like a Scooby Doo villain, at best.
  24. Might want to wait until he is no longer on the Sox…
  25. Making Friday April 15th the new battleground....you either have Opening Day on Thurs/one Wed game or combine the two concepts together. It will be a terrible look for RBI/ACE etc., initiatives, and only brings added attention to the fact that MLB is failing to attract African American teenagers vis a vis NBA, NFL, MMA, etc.
